*A Freshly Scented Garden* Grass-type Club

Kinda related: Alola's new Grass-types are pretty good looking so far, but how about that Grass Z-Move? It looks really cool, but that name is... weak. "Bloom Doom"? It's not too late to change that, right? Pleeeaaaase.

It did looked like the weakest attack of all 3... Compare it to water and fire attack!!

[/spoiler]

Exeggutor's new form is...interesting. Exeggutor is one of the few Grass Pokémon I have hardly used and I feel it's new form is unlikely to change that. Grass/Dragon is a nice typing but Mega Sceptile already has it.

I don't know why it is a dragon type now... It looks nothing like a dragon...

Forget not looking like a dragon. What in the name of Arceus is this monstrosity?

It's so ridiculous that he is funny, and that's the goal (well I hope so). I kinda like it, I mean I love the memes about it XD

Create a potential Alohan form for a Grass Pokémon? Why have they adapted to be this form and how would they look? What would be their typing and ability?

Alohan Vileplume

Type - Grass/Fire

Regular Ability - Solar Power
Hidden Ability - Flash Fire

How to obtain - Evolve a Gloom with Maximum Friendship holding a Heat Rock.

Appearance - The same size as regular Vileplume but have a blue body with Orange jagged petals. The Petals also have red markings which differ between the male and female.

Lore - Whilst regular Gloom and Vileplume exist in the region some Gloom have found a new way to evolve due to the humid environment of Aloha. Unlike regular Vileplume Alohan Vileplume are able to use Fire Moves and whilst this is unconfirmed some observers say they have seen some Alohan Vileplume absorb Fire attacks. Despite their somewhat more wild appearance than their regular variety Alohan Vileplume bond strongly with their trainers and are particularly prized among Aroma Ladies.

Create an Alolan form for a Grass Pokémon. Why have they adapted to be this form and how would they look? What would be their typing and ability?

I went in a slightly different direction and made an Alolan form of a non-Grass Pokémon that gained the Grass-typing in Alola.

Alolan Geodude and Graveler and Golem

Type: Rock/Grass
Regular Ability: Rock Head or Chlorophyll
Hidden Ability: Water Absorb

How to obtain: Catch 'em! All Geodude (and its evolutions) in Alola are this Type. Golem does not require trading, however. Instead, level up an Alolan Graveler near a Moss Rock.

Appearance:
Geodude - Very similar to standard Geodude, but with patches of moss growing in its crevices.
Graveler - As with Geodude, very close to the original but even more mossy now. Streamers of hanging moss dangle from its arms.
Golem - The moss has spread to cover most of Golem's body. It now hangs down so much that Golem appears to be wearing a green, hooded cloak. Golem's eyes have also turned green.

Lore: The first Geodude brought to Alola initially had a very rough time. The humid environment and frequent rain made them quite weak. As a result, they would spend much time resting. Moisture from the rains would get trapped in their uneven skin and, due to how sedentary the Geodude had become, moss spores settled on them and grew, feeding on the captured water.

Over generations, Geodude and moss adapted to each other, with moss from the mothers transferring to their offspring. In time, this moss became an integral part of the Alolan Geodude's life and allowed it to thrive in the new environment.

Alolan Geodude are slightly slower than their standard counterparts, but have gained greater HP and Special Defense in exchange. Alolan Geodude cannot learn Rollout.

I am about to start the Final Game of my Grass Monotype Region Tour which is Alpha Sapphire. I have already a Monotype of Pokemon Red, Heart Gold, Pearl, White and Y. I will of course start with Treecko in my Alpha Sapphire Monotype and will likely use the Oddish Line.

If you could own any Grass Pokemon to be a companion Pokemon of sorts which would it be and why? Note this Pokemon can be played with and used in Pokemon Contests but will not battle and may stay outside its Pokeball.

Okay, I'm sorta torn with this one. Between three choices. So I'll go over all of them.

1. Snivy. Who's surprised? No one? Yeah, thought so. Everyone should know by now that this is my favorite evolutionary line. If Snivy was my 'companion Pokemon', I'd have to make it the offspring of a Serperior on my team, because that idea is just too sweet not to. And because I'd definitely have a Serperior on my team.
2. Shaymin. Specifically in Land Forme. It's just so frickin' adorable, and its attitude in Giratina and the Sky Warrior? How could I not want it!
3. Phantump. Again, this one is a little cutie. Possibly more so than Land Forme Shaymin? Maybe? Anyway, yeah. This my favorite Grass/Ghost type (I know we don't have many, but oh well) and I just love the design. So cute~

This is hard.

A part of me want to say Snivy, but another part of me want to say Sawsbuck. I guess Snivy is easier to travel around hehe.

I think Chikorita is very sweet too and would make a great companion!

If you could own any Grass Type Pokemon to be a companion of sorts which would you choose and why?

I would choose a Female Bellossom. Bellossom is a very cute Pokemon and has an adorable design being based on a Hawaiian Dancer. Whilst Bellossom is not great I'm battle I feel it will be good as a companion Pokemon as it will be able to use scents to cheer the trainer up as well as dancing. It will also be a great Pokemon for contests.

Random Grass related news - I bought my first packs of Pokemon cards in about 10 years or so and in the first pack I got a Serperior Card and in the second pack I got a Snivy Holo Card. It appears finding nice Grass Pokemon is not just exclusive to the games.

Pokemon in Focus - Serperior

YAAAAAAAY! {XD} Can I just say I love it -- all of it -- and be done? No? Okay.

1. What were your initial thoughts on Serperior and his line?
I didn't spend much time deciding on a starter when I played White, and since it was the first Pokemon game I ever played and I was young, I went purely on design. I picked Snivy, of course, and from then on, I thought it was the best thing ever. The entire time I played through the game (until I got Zekrom anyway). I loved it from the start because it was cute and at the same time looked very proud. My first impression of Servine wasn't quite the same (personally, I think Dewott looks better, but at least Servine isn't as bad as Pignite) and I found it pretty comparable to being in its 'awkward teen years', but I stuck with it and evolved it again and was when I met my second favorite Pokemon of all time. I loved Serperior even more than Snivy, right from the beginning! From design to cry, everything about it captured my heart (I couldn't care less about stats, honestly, since I was little and not a competitive player. In fact, I was about as 'filthy casual' as they come.) and unless I was up against a Fire/Flying/Bug/Ice, my Serperior would be in battle.
2. What do you think of Serperior's design?
I loooooove it! I absolutely love snakes, and Serperior is a majestic and beautiful snake! It always seems to be looking down its nose at you, or glaring at an opponent (intimidating!) and those red eyes are the cherry on top, when it comes to its expression. I feel like they really bring its severity and majesty together. I adore the 'collar' it has on its neck, and the way it makes it seem like Serperior is wearing a snake robe, of sorts, and how it's little arms (yep, those are arms) are always clasped regally behind its back. The color scheme is brilliant too, and really fits it. Green isn't really considered a royal color, that I'm aware of, (it's there probably due to Serperior's Grass typing) but the yellow accents? What color is yellow often interchangeable with that also is meant pretty much everywhere to symbolize wealth and riches? Gold.
3. What do you think of Serperior's battling capabilities?
Personally, I feel like Serperior is a very versatile Pokemon. It's very fast, and could be either a physical or special attacker. Or it could be support. Of course, if it has its Hidden Ability, everyone uses it as a special attacker, because crazy Leaf Storm stuff. But even without its Hidden Ability, I'd use it as a special attacker, maybe with a Calm Mind/Giga Drain/Frenzy Plant/Dragon Pulse set. It has even more options for physical, and I'd probably go something like Coil (or Swords Dance)/Leaf Blade/Knock Off/Aqua Tail. Though there's a lot more options than that. Or a support Serperior works well, especially on the Battle Spot. Maybe something Gastro Acid/Glare/Grassy Terrain/Leaf Blade (or Giga Drain/Energy Ball, depending on which attacking stat is higher). It might not have incredibly spectacular stats (except for that Speed), but that's balanced out pretty nicely with how many roles Serperior can fill.

1. What were your initial thoughts on Serperior and his line?

At first, I loved Snivy!! It was my favorit of the bunch. Servine is pretty nice too. I preferred Samurott than the other final evolution, but I grew a big love to Serperior. It is one of my favorite Pokemon now.

2. What do you think of Serperior's design?

It is an amazing design! It's so... majestic. Grandiose. A Pokemon who look calm, beautiful, loyal?

3. What do you think of Serperior's battling capabilities?

His hidden ability is pretty nice. It's a Pokemon I use in my battles but not that much honestly. Not a bad moveset too.

Guys..... There are too many great grass type in SUn and Moon x.x

I want Rowlet, Lurantis and Bounsweet's line..... I can't choose!

That is true. I am personally going to use all three for my first playthrough. :)

Of the Gen 7 Pokemon we know of so far (Rowlet line, Fomantis line, Bounsweet line and Morelull line) which is your favourite and why?

My favourite Gen 7 Grass Pokemon so far is Bounsweet's final evolution Tsareena. I really like the elegance of her design and her lore suggests she is the Fruit Queen.

She also seems to have a unique way of evolving where it evolves 'with permission of other Steenee suggesting a coronation of sorts.

She is also a physical attacker and seems to be the physical counterpart to my favourite Pokemon Lilligant. :) Grass Pokemon tend to be special based so having a physical attacker is a change. Tsareena's ability Queenly Majesty which blocks priority moves is also intriguing.

Tsareena is known as the 'Fruit Queen' and is likely an all female species like Lilligant which is sometimes called the 'Grass Princess'.

Sun and Moon have a lot of callbacks to Gen 1 whilst one can argue that Fomantis and Tsareena are counterparts similar to Vileplume and Victreebell both Alohan Pokemon have quite feminine characteristics. This could be a callback of sorts to Kanto and Celandon Gym which was the only all female Gym at the time.

Shiny Hunting Note

I have just got a Shiny Lilleep by Soft resetting fossil revivals. I have the Shiny Charm but this is my first ever Shiny by soft resetting and it's a Grass type at that and the only grass type fossil Pokemon at that.:) I have never used the Lilleep line before but at the very least its suction cups ability will be great for chain fishing. :D

I want all 3 of them, but I'll already have 2 fire type so my team is't well balanced at all XD
In fact, if I have to do one game monotype, I'll be glad to do a grass run in sun and moon.

Honestly, ALL OF THEM!
I can litteraly use them all. Morelull is maybe the one I like less but I still really like it! I like Vileplum and they are kinda look alike. As much as I like the Bounsweet's line, I think I might go with Fomantis for my favorite. I don't count Rowlet, it is a starter so it's special XD
I'll know for sure after the stats which one I want. The moveset can make me change my mind too.

I suppose:

Rowlet: attack
Alola Marowak: attack
type: null: ... I really don"t know
Salandit: Special Attack
Wishiwashi: special attack
So IF I am right, type:null will decide which Pokemon I choose between Fomantis and Tsareena, who I suppose one is special and the other is attack (if you take a look at serebii).
I might go with Morelull too... it is different as I suspect to see many Fomantis and Tsareena online.
EDIT:
Oh I forgot I want Lycanroc, Vikavolt and maybe Occorico too... I want too many Pokemon TT_TT

Congrats!
