A major card collecting feat!

    Today in the mail I got my base set charizard.

    This means that I got the last card that I needed to finish my pokedex! I have the first 151 pokemon from the original packs. It's pretty cool. I've started a second one for the generation 2/3 pokemon, but they can be from any set.

    So pretty cool, right?

    Has any one else done this before?

    btw, most of these were traded, I've only bought charizard and venusaur.
     
    Well done. And only buying two of the cards. Thats the real feat.

    I myself will never buy a single card, I prefer to only trade as that was the original intent of the game. I try to promote that ideal in my league.
     
    That's cool. I only need about three cards to finished my first 151 Pokémon. I don't know about the other generations, though. XD​
     
    I did it years ago.
    The Charizard costed like 100 bucks. Was the only one I bought.
     
    @ Royal Genesis: Gosh if it wasn't 1st edition it definitely wasn't worth a hundred! D:

    But yah, I was real excited when I did the same thing. I was really active through the first three sets, so I did it by 2002 or so. No buying cards. :-)
     
    I had Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil all completed (if you count holo and non-holo versions to be one card ....heh). I don't remember the few cards I was missing from Rocket. Gym Leaders is when I started getting horrible luck as far as collecting went.
     
    That's fantastic, mate. I was disappointed that I got not even one Charizard from two base set booster boxes I bought. Lol. So all that but no Charizard, such a shame.

    I did manage to get a Venusaur and a Blastoise, though. Suppose it was good enough.

    Yeah, I've done it too...kinda fun. The first gen Pokémon are all from Base, Jungle, Fossil, the second gen from the first 3 Neo sets, third gen from R/S, Sandstorm, Dragon, and HL, and fourth gen from the D/P sets.

    Hey that is COOL! I'm actually trying that now lol. Hey, I saw a PSA GEM 10 Ancient Mew sell for over £10,000 on Ebay a couple of days ago. And another one for £950. I was shocked lol.

    That is what I have been trying to do since I was little, but my cards were always thrown away by my mom. I started up the collection again and Im like "half way there". (Livin on a Prayer)
