A Pokecommunity Imageboard?

I was just wondering if maybe PC could have it's own imageboard, for things about upcoming games, Pokemon wallpaper, gifs, and maybe even a part for torrents and other Japanese pictures. This could also be used as another place to put pictures for Pokemon Fanclubs; they could just make one image thread that has to do with that Pokemon! This is just a fun idea I was thinking about for people who have a lot of Pokemon pictures/art that they'd like to show~

Thats a good idea, but then if more stuff will be added to PC, the server will get even slower.

Hehe...yeah. I think thats a good idea...guess thats why I almost said the same thing. But like Rukario said, it'll make the server more worse than it already is. I made thread for the saem idea...just not about the imageboard on PC. I'm confused now X.x.

Sure! Go and copy PokeJungle Network! ;D

I can safely say this is a idea the Community Sites have discussed, but nothing is certain at the current time.

(And yes I can say this on behalf, of TotalPokemon since I am Co Owner and I brought up this exact idea a few weeks ago).

I think the thing she's talking about isn't an integration to vB, nor is it a standalone gallery like PPN Gallery.

It's a separate software that's like a forum, in a way, but with every post or new thread you make, there's an option to upload an image alongside it. Or, vice versa, you can upload an image and no text.

Anyway, I'm not totally against the idea since it'd be kind of cool, but considering we're already having server troubles, it's probably just best to stick to the attachment system. :O

That comment really wasn't necessary. :/ Who's to say she even got the idea from PokeJungle? There's plenty of other imageboards around the 'net, any of which she could've gotten this idea from.

I also think that this would be a neat thing to have - alas, if only the server were behaving like it should...

If you are looking for a gallery hack for vB you can try PhotoPost vBGallery which is one of the only good gallery hacks for vB so far; it use to be called vBa Gallery. I beleive there are some intergration hacks for Coppermine System into vB in which I beleive PPN uses Coppermine if I am correct.

Also, the ImageBoard if PokeCommunity did have one would be on a totally different host (TotalPokemon's). Since it is safe to say, PC's Server cannot hold basically anything else.

This idea is not from some site called PJN (Pokemon Jungle Network), ImageBoards' have been around forever. They are very popular in Japan, and we first talked about making one back in early July.

I'll confirm what Blaze was saying, he talked to me about starting one and in principle I agreed at the time.

Hmmm... remember that imageboards are very bandwidth intensive.

*learned that the hard way* >_>

They also lack a decent moderation system.

That's the first english Pokemon-centered imageboard. 4Chan styled at least. AGNPH's really doesn't count because it's a furry hell.

I'd rather have a lot of sites go into making one imageboard big. They take a lot of work to make popular, because mainstream users don't know how to actually use them, since it's relatively new to have them as part of sites or as a standalone site.

I like the idea, I think it'd be something good. But as it stands now we don't got the server power to tack something else on (we already got too much on it). Unless there's a way to get a new server for it I just don't see it happening anytime soon.
