Is there any format that's mandatory? Is it better to space it out, rather than have a block of text? I'm not sure if there's a guideline for style :s

You should probably read the rules in the writing and fanfic sections for more information.

I don't think there is any specific format requirements here.

Don't change the font. Making it blue or green or something makes it harder to read. Just keep it forum default. Of course, bold and italics are fine...just not for the entire story.

I'll assume that "spaced out" and "wall of text" refer to the common problem of how to space paragraphs. It's the same in F&W as it is elsewhere. Use the Enter button twice to make a new paragraph, since the tabbed paragraphs that you would have in Word (or similar programs) won't carry over.

What I guess can be called a "mandatory style" is just make it easy for people to read. Space your paragraphs, don't change the font too much (especially the color, as Syd said, since there's so many skins on this forum), and just use proper grammar to the best of your abilities. That's really it.

Ah, okay. Thanks; instead of doing my normal "wall of text" (which uses the correct indents for paragraphs and whatnaught), I decided to follow another person's template, where you make a new line for every paragraph, and a line separates the paragraph from each preceeding and succeeding paragraph.

Usually I write novel-style; I was just unsure if there was a better format or not. I think the spaced out once with 3x "Enter" to separate paragraphs looks the best, though.

    Thankies for the input.

2x Enter is best on the internet in general. 3x makes it too spacey and hard to read.
