About maps & moves outside battle

So, this is actually two questions I'm asking. The first is, while testing my game, I didn't have any Pokemon which knows the move "Cut", but I did have the badge that allows its usage outside of battle.
So when I "talk" with a tree, it says "This tree looks like it can be cut down. Would you like to use cut?", and then offers me a Yes/No choice. If I choose "Yes", then it gives me the message "(PLAYERNAME) used cut" and the tree disappeared... Why is this happening?

And second (But not that important), is it possible for one map to have more map position (On the region map). So instead of creating a lot of small maps and connecting them, I'd like to create a huge map with different map positions. Is that possible?

1.) Is because you are in debug mode

2.) No, I think it states somewhere, the Wiki probably, that to make a map have more squares on the region map... You must split the map into sections... It makes sence to be honest... Then use map connectors to link them up

Well that makes sense... Thank you for your help :)

However, if that's the case with maps, then I need help with something else. I tried connecting 4 maps like this:

But, if I, say, go to the top right corner of map 3, then map 2 wouldn't be visible. It'd be just a black surface, because the map isn't connected to map 3. Only if I move to map 1 or 4, map 2 would be visible, because it is connected to it. Is there any way to avoid this?
I've tried connecting maps 2 & 3 ("non-touching connected maps" on the Wiki), but that didn't entirely work, since there were still black surfaces appearing from time to time.

Okay, I'm not too sure, I'll go check now and report back.

Right I just tried connecting maps and seeing if one or 2 maps have been blacked out due to them not actually touching each other...

    The connections are perfect.

    I can't see the problem...

FL . does make a good point, but editing scripts is somewhat unneccassary here when the connections work perfect.

    Hope this helps.

If you're having problems with map connections, then have a look at them. They're in connections.txt. You may not have created all the necessary ones (in this case there should be 6 in total).

Actually, I make connections by editing connections.txt. I don't connect them with any other method.

It's probably that I haven't paid enough attention while connecting them. I probably did something wrong and failed to find what - I'll try again later (Can't right now) and I'll edit this post to tell if it works or not.

Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it :)

As for what FL . said, I don't really understand what you meant :\ Do you mean when an area (Say a route) is made out of more maps, they have the same name on the region map? I knew that already - most of my routes are made out of at least 3 maps (And they all have the same name in game and on the region map. The game displays the name only when I enter the route from a differently named area (From a city, or cave)). Thanks for your help, though.

EDIT: Everything works like a charm :) Thanks a lot, guys! (Yeah, it was my mistake to connect them by editing the connections.txt file.)

It's probably worth using the Visual Editor to connect maps, and then just double-check them by looking at encounters.txt directly. It's so easy to muck things up if you're typing connections out manually.

The reverse. If you have only one map (say a route), and want three points on region map about this route.
