    Bulbasaur is beast. They say Negotiator Meowth pfft it's about about Negotiator Bulbasaur. Although I wish he would have choose to be Ivysaur I still love Bulba none the less. He was definitely utilized a lot by Ash until he departed in Johto.
     
    Bulbasaur? More like Bulbasnore! We get it, you break up fights. Frankly, Bulbabully, I've noticed that there aren't nearly as many fights between pokemon when you aren't around. You call yourself the negotiator, I call you the instigator.... all's I'm sayin'.

    Just kidding. Bulbasaur's ok, but I'm a Swellow fan all the way.
     
    It's going to be Bulbasaur for me too I'm afraid. Swellow just didn't have enough personality, the only time I ever really liked it was when it ate all that chocolate in it's first episode. xD

    Bulbasaur certainly is a strong Pokémon, and obviously respected by the other Pokémon in Oak's lab. Although it never really wanted to evolve, I think I like it better as a Bulbasaur.
     
    I love Bulbasaur, one of Ash's best Pokemon IMO. I loved him since the first episode he appeared. :3 Although he doesn't win my vote. I've always loved Swellow that little bit more. I preferred Swellows cool and calm personality more than Bulbasaurs proud one.

    So yeah, Swellow > Bulbasaur for me.

    Eh...I go for Bulbasaur For:

    1)He is A starter (starters are unique)
    2)He has a better personality and is quite "Mature" and "Wise"
    3)He is VERY powerful regardless His Form
    4)Regional Birds Usually lack personality, but anyway I wouldn't go with Swellow since my favorite Bird is Staraptor (I don't want to derrive and state why though)
    5)Bulbasaur is Like one of the "Overrated" Pokemons.....Not a Fact but I feel it this way.
    I know my reasons aren't convincing and Are not based on facts but just wanted to state my Opinion....
     
    Okay, this is actually pretty close since they're both my favorite Pokémon in their own respective sagas. First, Bulbasaur is at a disadvantage since it was in the Kanto saga, the saga where the writers didn't know jackcrap about how to really SHOW that Ash's Pokémon were strong. They mainly implied that all of his Pokémon were very powerful by simply telling us, and Bulbasaur had a lot of plot-device losses just so Pikachu or Charmander could win. However, at the rare times when things weren't revolving around Pikachu or Charmander, it is always Bulbasaur who scoops up all of Ash's wins, and usually in large quantities.
    Swellow, on the other hand, was in the balanced Advanced Generation saga. He was in many epic gym battles and almost always won. He didn't have that many losses.
    Back to Bulbasaur, we see lots of illegal moves on him, lol. Unlike Swellow, Bulbasaur had to build his character on the sidelines, most notably during Master Quest. In the Johto League, both Pikachu and Cyndaquil were owned really easily by a shiny Magneton, but Bulbasaur owned that Magneton as easily as it owned the other two. Then, it tied with its nemesis, that one pesky Meganium. If Bulbasaur is as powerful as a fully evolved starter, then we can tell that it may be on par with Charizard and Sceptile. When Bulbasaur came back in Advanced Generation, it cleaned up after both Charizard and Squirtle, defeating Dusclops and having a draw with Solrock.

    So in the end, my vote goes to Bulbasaur. A lot of this post contains my opinions, so if you don't agree with me, I understand, but that doesn't give you a right to start a fight or yell at me.

    I pick Bulbasaur since he is a really powerful stronger pokemon and a cooler pokemon then Swellow.
     
    I liked Bulbasaur because of how it stayed with Ash from Kanto up to mid-Johto as well as of how it broke up fights. IMO, Swellow didn't get much character development other than the fact it was able to take hits in battle easily.
     
    Swellow Thunder Armor was a poorly cheap move on the writers part.Bulbasaur is stronger then Swellow and he is a really cool pokemon.

    Bulbasaur wins over Swellow in this poll.

    Actually, I think that was pretty brave of him. It's a part of his character to look down on power-hungry fools who NEED to evolve to obtain power.

    Also, this is Bulbusaur, of all Pokémon. Type advantage means absolutely nothing. We've seen it pwning Beedrill, Scyther, Venonat, Butterfree, Exeggutor, etc. Plus it had a DOUBLE WEAKNESS to bugs back in the day.

    Yeah, I agree. Bulbasaur had a 4x weakness to Bug back in Generation I.

    I voted for Swellow because my brother likes Birds

    Swellow may have had THUNDER ARMOR which was a very cheap power....but he was never cool.Bulbasaur is cool and have a lot of powerful attacks.

    I am glad to have voted for Bulbasaur.I hope more people vote for him too.

    Who cares if you voted for Swellow it is only opinions poll anyways,grow up and stop acting like a little kid.

    I voted for Bulbasaur but that don't mean he will win or lose.If Bulbasaur don't win it won't really bother me in any way,if Swellow don't win i hope you take it like a man,the polls can always change anyways.
