My Druddigon thread was going in circles. I still think it's good no matter what you Garchomp fanboys say and I'll probably renom it in the future just to cause chaos.

Been thinking of writing about one of my favorite mons to use in OU, Nidoqueen. I love her because of the unique advantages she brings to the table, including countering Clefable efficiently, setting up rocks and toxic spikes, being pretty hard to switch into in general, and threatening specific defensive cores. Lemme know what you think.

I know that she is a somewhat viable wall-breaker in UU (Sheer Force + Life Orb) but her terrible speed tier and the commonality of her weaknesses in OU make me question her viability there.

I don't know much else about Nidoqueen's competitive viability though, so I'll defer to others for the time being.

Can you expand upon its niche more? The Clefable stopper niche is very real, but everything else is very vague and needs to be expanded on.

First off, what set(s) are you planning to feature here? It is essential that you specify this. Also, what "specific defensive cores" does it perform well against? Lastly, can you give examples of cores or full teams in which Nidoqueen is uniquely effective? (Replays would be great.) You might want to differentiate it from Dragalge, Tentacruel, and even Nidoking. When you lay these things out, I can give you more extensive and useful commentary.

Nidoqueen would need SR and TSpikes in order to differentiate herself from Nidoking. King is generally better, but if you were to use both hazards he would have give up crucial coverage and forfeit his offensive presence to an extent. At that point you might as well use Queen.

A big problem with Queen is that she can only switch into a few OU Pokemon. Those are Clefable, weaker variants of Tyranitar, Mega Manectric, and Raikou. Dragalge is capable of checking more stuff, whereas Nidoqueen has an easier time with Clefable and can block Volt Switch. Unfortunately, she can't do the latter too well, as she takes a lot from HP Ice and has no recovery. Her ability to beat Clefable easily is nice, but does that really make her worth the trouble when you can use Dragalge?

I'm planning to write about a SR + 3 attacks Nidoqueen set with enough speed to creep def Heatran and a bulky tank with Toxic Spikes and investment into def. The offensive set is decent at breaking through fairy + steel cores (Clefable + Skarm) and fwg cores (Tran + Venu + Starmie). The other set is different from the three mons you mentioned through its superior physical bulk, immunity to TWave and the ability to check volt switch shit.

Can you please post importables of the sets? This is still not a lot of information. Give what you would give in a RMT. If you want to be serious about proposing anything (and not just for this), you need to really be persuasive and detailed.

In terms of differences, you can make up a "niche" for literally any Pokemon based on unique traits. You need to spell out a niche that places it within the context of the metagame and not just "it's marginally bulkier than Nidoking." I mean, it is, but who cares? It has to be a niche that matters and not one that is so marginal that *insert mon* isn't better 95% of the time. I'm not saying that Nidoqueen falls into that category, but again, you're proposing this so you need to make a compelling case that it has a legitimate niche, because if you can't do it in the bare-bones proposal stage, you certainly can't do it in a full article.
