that actively updates with each keystroke somewhere in the editor box, so we know how many characters are in our posts. would be useful for some sections, like roleplaying as well!

oh yeah, that'd be cool! like you can't even hit the post reply button. :)

Adding my generic agreement with this. I think it'd be an incredibly useful feature, and then you would know beforehand if you have enough characters before you make a post. Then you don't have to go back and add more to it or whatever. And you're all set!!

    Good suggestion, nose picker.

As a member very active in the roleplaying section - I think this is a fantastic idea. There are a lot of people who fall below the required character number in some RPs (although I admit this is less of the case no than it was) and I think this would be a good push to weeding out this issue entirely.

At least as a feature possible to toggle on or off from the Options :3

I like the idea, but the RP section counts for words, not characters so it wouldn't help that much. XD

Yeah with all css people use in IC posts these days it really wouldn't do any good, true xD but for some it would.

@Cordelia - Well I feel like an idiot right about now. Perhaps a word count too? Like the one in word where if you highlight a section it shows how many words of the total count are in the highlighted section? That would remedy Doctor's issue with the CSS too but I don't know how easy it would be to implement.

@Doctor - The one's who need it most are the beginners, who the majority of don't really use any fancy CSS or anything. So that shouldn't be too big a problem, and the idea I mentioned above in my response to Cordelia would help too.

If it's not that hard to do, yes, that would be a good idea... but it's not too hard to c/p it somewhere and use a word counter on your computer, is it?

Yes, this would be simply amazing. I usually c/p posts to other online word or character counters :p so it's not the most important add ever but it would be nifty.
