Give Staraptor Close Combat and Aerial Ace, and replace Return with U-turn.

If it uses Brave Bird with Life Orb, it'll take large amounts of damage at all times

    Staraptor
ITEM : Choice Band/Choice Scarf(To surprise your opponent when Aerodactyl/Jolteon comes out)
    Nature : Adamant/Jolly
    Moves :
    Brave Bird
    Close Combat
    Double Edge
    U-Turn

Staraptor is better off plain sweeping.

Never use a Psychic move or a Steel move, they have horrible type coverage.

Correct! Close Combat is the move that covers both type coverage Steel type has, plus it has 50+ power, easily the best ^^

That's where U-Turn comes in. But I don't disagree with Choice Scarf. Actuaully..it's better.

Staraptor isn't meant to take hits, It simply switches out after attacking to make the switch. Even with Roost, It will die next turn full HP or not.

You can't have choice Items with U-turn.

Its mainly a tricky move to use when trying to surprise your opponent. Simply have Spikes/Stealth Rock deployed, and then send out Staraptor when what is could be matched well against like Porygon-Z (because it obviously outruns with Choice Scarf >.>) As well, Porygon-Z is guaranteed to switch, obviously seeing you have Close Combat, switching into something that will obliterate Staraptor. When he switches, you simply use U-Turn at the turn he switches, then youll be free to switch with the correct Pokemon to match up against the opponents swapped Pokemon, with them getting damage from U-Turn, with Stealth Rock/Spikes damage as well. Pretty good to wear down threats.

The Best and only Staraptor Useable is:

    Staraptor@ Choice Band/ Choice Scarf
    Intimidate
    Jolly (CB) / Adamant (CS)
    EVs: 6hp/252att/252spd
    - Brave Bird
    - Return
    - Close Combat
    - U-Turn

Thank you everyone, this helps out alot.

Wrong! with Choice Scarf, you don't need Max speed. and U-Turn sucks with a Choice Item. I would go Life Orb on it. Double Edge is amazing on Staraptor.

Penguin you seriously need to read the posts I make O.o

You were correct on the one with Max Speed, and the Double Edge, just not the U-Turn. It could be quite tricky to the foe if used correctly
