    So,
I have a question.Which one do you think is better? The Galaxy Neo or the Xperia Tipo -or- the Alcatel T-Pop?I'm planning to buy a new phone to replace my 5 year old Nokia.
    Yeah.Any help will be apreciated.
Just for reference, Sony Xperia Tipo runs Android 4.0.4(Ice Cream Sandwich), Samsung Galaxy Neo runs 4.1.2 (Jellybean) and the Alcatel T-Pop runs Android 2.3.7(Gingerbread).

For me, I always go for the phone with the most recent OS, which is the Galaxy Neo. I mean, come on. You can't let Jellybean pass up because it's the most amazing android OS out there...better than Gingerbread. It's better to go for a smartphone with an updated OS, and I'm only saying because in the future there's a possibility that some android applications may drop support for older OS versions like Froyo, Gingerbread and possibly Honeycomb.

There's also the Xperia Tipo which also runs on a decent OS as well. But in terms of specs, I'd say go for the Galaxy Neo. :)

Do you have any other choices with regard to phone selection? At that price point, I'd suggest that you also take a look at phones running Windows, unless you must have the apps.

The operating system doesn't mean much if the hardware cannot support it well. This is especially true with Android. The abysmal screen resolution on the Neo is a significant concern, too. If you have to pick between these phones, I'd suggest that you decide between "latest OS" or "better bells and whistles", with the former being the Neo and the latter being the tipo.

Of course, if you can go Windows Phone without a contract, the Lumia 520 makes a very rosy proposition. You get a 800x480 IPS (!) screen, a dual-core processor with 512 MB of RAM, a 5 MP "proper" autofocusing camera, 8 GB of internal storage with expansion, Nokia build and antenna quality, and a lot of goodies, too. Somewhere under $150, with a price of $100 or below being very likely without any contracts.

Typically, I judge a mobile device by the version of the operating system (latest Android is 4.3, for example), and by the quality of the phone's camera(s). So I would keep those two things in mind when choosing whichever device you want.

As for the OS, if you want the apps, go with the iPhone or Android, as Windows Phone does indeed lack in the app industry.

Just remember that the perceived speed and smoothness on a 800 MHz, older processor won't be as smooth as it can get as on an equivalent iPhone or Windows Phone, though. :D

I'd go with a Nokia Lumia 520 like Twiggy has said above, but it you want the customizability of android, look up the Huawei Ascend Y300. It's got the same specs of the Lumia but runs android making it more customizable and gives it more apps and a different, more flexible ecosystem.

I have one and it's prefect for everyday needs.

In the end, when you pick between the Nokia and the Huawei phones, it boils down to whether you want to get more out of your phone's internals, or apps. Remember that Android has all the apps you'll ever need, but Windows Phone is a very efficient operating system, 3-year-old single-core or a recent dual-core.

Hi thanks for your opinions, I ended up getting the Xperia E.What are the good and bad things about it?How does it compare with other smartphones which cost about as much as the Xperia E?

I have not much to comment on this particular, unexpected choice, but I still think that you probably could have been better off going Windows given the performance of the particular phone.

Look, I just wanted to try something else than Nokia(Like c'mon!I got my first Nokia in 2005 and then I just got newer phones made by Nokia!).I am very happy with the Xperia, takes good quality pictures, allows me to play Pokemon Black 2 on it, it's waaay more responsive than my old Nokia 5800 XM(dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon vs. single-core ARM A9 410MHz lol) .The sound quality is better and it's got 2GB phone memory expandable to 34GB(through MicroSD cards).
Well, the Lumia might be better, but look, the Lumia runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango/7.8/8.0 .If Nokia ever built a phone with Android, I'll be the first person to buy it.
    EDIT:Anything else I missed out?
The Nokia phones I had before:
    Nokia 3100-Nokia E50-Nokia E51-01-Nokia 5800 XM-Nokia N8 Belle Refresh(tryout only)

Pretty cool, huh? What's important is that you have gotten what you want, which, in this case, a reliable, fast phone. :)
