    Joking aside, just call me Mimi! My favorite gen is G/S/C, and I've been playing a lot of ROM hacks based on them recently. I'm thinking about getting S/V after skipping Sw/Sh (which was the first gen I skipped in... ever).

    It is always great to see new members who have been playing since the first generations!
    I loved playing Gold too. Playing in color, the moment we realize we can go back to Kanto, ...
    What is your favourite ROM hack ? Have you tried some fan games too ?

    I hope you will enjoy playing Scarlet / Violet!
     
    Right now, I'm really into the ROM hacks based around the 97 beta. There's so many cool designs!

    I haven't played many fan games, as I am a primarily Linux user. I'm not sure if any of those games would run natively and I really dislike setting up custom Wine prefixes.

    Oh... Sorry, I do not know if fan games work with Linux, but if you do want to give some a try, I can recommend some of the best in my opinion : Insurgence, and, if you are into challenges, top level battles, tough trainers, and hairpulling puzzles, there is Reborn!
    That said, feel free to ask in Fan Games section about Linux compability!

    Welcome Mimi! My favorite Gen is also GSC. Have you given Liquid Crystal a go yet? What made you skip SwSh?

    The Gen 2 remakes where how I got into Pokémon in summer 2010!
    Definitely understand me some Gen 2 love!

    I have! I was a big fan of the spin offs as a kid. I've played all the DS Mystery Dungeon games (and loved them), Pokémon Ranger 1(?), and of course the original Snap!

    Liquid Crystal looks really interesting. I'll have to give it a go!

    I skipped SwSh because I fell out of love with my Switch right before it came out. I didn't want to monopolize the TV with roommates and I have trouble with the built-in teeny Switch screen. I definitely have to find a solution for S/V because it looks so cool!
