American Idol!

An American Idol discussion thread? DD:

AWRIGHT.

My favorite this year is by far and away David Archuleta. He's like a breath of fresh air amongst all the pretenders and overthinkers we get every year. Believe it or not, he's been my favorite since the auditions, so I'm incredibly happy whenever he pulls off an awesome performance.

Brooke is my other fav. o3o She's like a fairy princess. ~ And I love Ramiele. I wish she would take the competition more seriously. I have to resist the urge to go "PINAY POWER!!" everytime I see her, though. But she's so cute! *A*

And.. err.. I hope Kristy Lee goes home next week. She's on the bland side, IMO. Sad that she's been the "last man standing" every week, though. :B
 
Ah yes, Brooke White is very good. She did very well with Let it Be and has had plenty of other very good performances. She isn't a pretender like a few others (Robbie Carrico...) so yeah.
 
Right! The thing that stands out about Brooke is her honesty while singing, such as "Let It Be" (which I thought was beautiful), and "Love Is A Battlefield". While not the most talented by "technical" standards, she surpasses.. say, Syesha and Carly when it comes to sheer personality and connectivity with the music she sings, and how she's not afraid to push herself out of her comfort zones in song choice.

"Here Comes The Sun" was messy, though. A very Brooke-ish song to choose, but not the greatest for singing live :B

I can't wait until they actually don't destroy Beatles songs next time. Some people did a really good job (especially Carly with Come Together and David with The Long and Winding Road, but otherwise I just didn't really like anybody that much lol)

Also they really need to axe Kristy Cook, she just isn't that good.

Yay, a Mandisa fan. ^^ I was always voting for her in season 5. No, she's not that good. But she's still on the stage, we can't help it.
 
I love American Idol! I'm totally supporting Ramiele Malubay in this competition! and I'm not just saying that because I'm Pinoy and all
 
um.. i like brooke white, shes and good singer and looks really nice!! ^^
 
I support David Cook. I mean, his hair is a total nightmare, but he's got a solid voice. XD I actually liked his cover of "Eleanor Rigby", which surprised me. Archuleta's good, but I don't think he'll win. He'll most likely snag the runner up spot. I don't know who'll win, though. x__X

Ramiele is a sweetheart, and her voice is so strong. <3 She's definitely one of my favorites this year. :3

Wasn't the Eleanor Rigby arrangement copied from another band? I've heard that buzz going around.. but you never can tell when something's true or not, though. *shrug*

My problem with the hype around David Archuleta is that non-conformists will be prompted to nit-pick and tear him apart. It's hardly his fault he's charming and talented.

That said, I hope he sails through to the finale. Runner up for that boy would be good enough for me, as long as I get to see him perform every week. He definitely has the talent to win. xD
 
I like Archuleta and I'm a non-conformist (though that practically contradicted itself lol)

I hated the Eleanor Rigby arrangement actually. So yeah...lol. I like David Cook, but I thought that and Day Tripper just...were not good. Hey, I'm not a huge fan of going hard rock with the Beatles, so what can I say?

Hey, man, liking Archuleta doesn't make you conformist. 8D If you liked him from the audition rounds, how could you be conforming? That just makes you.. like all the people who liked him without influence from other people.

The Eleanor Rigby performance wasn't really my favorite, simply because that song is utterly haunting in it's original form, and I felt "rocking it out" sort of stripped it of it's meaning. When David sang it, you couldn't see the connection between the lyrics and his performance.

With any other song (.. any other non-Beatles song, maybe. xD), it would have been awesome. ;0 I wish he'd toned it down and everything. He has a great voice, hopefully he'll do less of the hard rock and work on something out-of-the-box. :>

I can't believe Syesha was in the bottom three though. O_O
 
I liked Chikezie and from there I just started liking him less and less...I don't know.

Also no surprise Syesha was in the bottom three for me. Her performance was along the "epic boredom" line and honestly I don't think she's that good (definitely not as good as she thinks she is).

I was surprised Jason was in the bottom 3, but his performance was pretty bad (or at least the song O_o) so yeah.
 
I'm still recovering from the shock of Michael Johns leaving. But then again, me and my mom already have two other favorites. Carly and David Cook (Archuleta is just overrated, girls are voting for him because of his cloaked hints towards grabbing girls attention. and they just fell for his trap, and that is why i don't like Archuleta.)

Well, the remaining contestants...meh. I like David Cook, but I'm not amazed with him like the rest of the world is. Arculeta is really, really good, but he's always so gloomy-looking and his performances are often boring.

Brooke White...I don't know, she seems to be slowing down rather than speeding up, if you catch my drift. Jason Castro has gone from awesome to insanely boring, and Syesha...she's not all that good. I'm just glad Cook is gone. At this point, I don't care who wins.

Oh, and as for Carly, she doesn't really connect with the audience so well.
