Amnity Square, a peacful garden for Pokemon Trainers and Pokemon owners in general, to take soothing strolls in and relax with their Pokemon companions. This feature, exclusive to Sinnoh correlated to Pokemon Contests, where we're able to obtain a variety of dress-up items, some common, rare and very rare, along with a few other necessities. Did you enjoy this feature? What did you like the most about it? What aspects did you dislike the most? Did it annoy you that only a specific collection of Pokemon were allowed to be taken into the park?

I didn't use or visit Amnity square as much as I used or visited other extra features of DPPt. Mainly due to the fact that the restrictions on the Pokemon you were allows to take in always ensured that I didn't enter. When I did, after catching a Pachirisu, I found it to be quite entertaining for the first hour or so when I began to hunt for hidden items and recieve them from my Pokemon, but it soom became stale for me as time elapsed. I was simply repeating the same few acitons over and over again, until I eventually ditched the whole feature altogether. Overall, I think it was fun little feature initally, but isn't as intriguing over a long period of time.

I didn't like it at all. It was always annoying to find the right Pokemon to be able to use it so I just didn't bother. When I did though for the most part the items weren't that interesting. Larger selection of Pokemon would've been nice to have though!

It at least kind of alluded to what we would get in HGSS! But yeah, it sucks they were so picky about who could go with you in there. Only cute Pokemon? That's something debatable. I think Duskull is cute, but it can't go in there with me. This is also a reason I don't allow challenges that only allow cute Pokemon, because that would require making a list of cute stuff, and what's cute to one isn't cute to someone else. So yeah, while it was neat, it was too limited for me to really enjoy it. I rarely had any of those "cute" Pokemon with me.

The fact that they limited what Pokemon could enter was about the only thing about it that I wasn't too fond about. Other than that, I thought it was a cute little feature. I guess the items aren't too significant if you're not into the Super Contest, but just having my Pokemon follow me was adorable. And it did lead to that feature being implemented for all Pokemon in HeatGold, so I find it difficult to not like, haha.

It was a bit tedious getting the items I wanted for contests in Amity Square. The Pokemon restrictions were a bit annoying too, but I'm glad they allowed the Sinnoh starters in Platinum so I could always get in (I always keep the starter on my team).

All I have to say is: my Mudkip is INCREDIBLY adorable. Why can't he follow me?
But besides the obvious fact that "cute is subjective," I also didn't really like how impossible it seemed to be able to get to certain parts of the square. I just couldn't wrap my mind around how some of those cave-things worked!
But if we look at those kinds of "small side-distractions" in the games as "tests for possible future features" then I think overall it was a very good test. It certainly didn't detract from the game at all.

I didn't really like Amity Square cos of the Pokemon restrictions, although I love walking with my Pachirisu/Psyduck/Buneary/Pikachu.

Platinum's was slightly better due to the Sinnoh Starters being included. At least all that walking can net you some items and contest accessories.

    I HATED IT
It made my other pokemon like steelix feel hidious

Atleast my ugly infernape got acsess to go in

I wandered in there a bit, mainly to obtain the "uber-berries" for the contests. Those were my major draws to the Square, but once I got all five of them and could start growing them, there wasn't really much reason to return there. So I haven't visited in quite awhile. It was cute and charming at first, but there's really only so much you can do there before it starts to get boring. And since I don't regularly carry "cute" Pokemon with me, most of the time I couldn't get past the front gate if I tried.

The reason you could only bring "KAWAII ha ha Im such a weaboo cute" Pokemon was because they were too lazy to make more overworld sprites.

The restrictions really turned me off to the idea. Its not until Platinum where they added the starters that I actually bothered to enter. I played around for a while and got bored. Back to Adventure.

I used it once and went for a walk with a Psyduck :) Although I didn't go back it was still fun cause it was different and I did appreciate the feature :)

I like the guy standing out there complaining they wouldn't let his Gyarados or Steelix in xD

No, but I thought it was useful to find berries and new props for the contests, but I was always kind of mad about not letting certain Pokemon in. Would have been a lot better if there was more variety/been stated 100 times in this thread

I don't really care for having only one spot to walk around with your Pokemon, but I will say I'm extremely disappointed after they teased us with HG/SS...

That game had so much hype for nostalgia reasons, and they teased us with being able to walk with our Pokemon. Then they take is away in B/W, probably for good now.

    Thanks alot...XP

I liked how we could bring our starters in there in Platinum.
Since I always keep my starter in my team, it means I can always access it when I want to go get the daily free berry from the guy in there.

Mmm, this was really handy! Since, like you said, most people carry their starter on them, so that provided for almost always quick access to the area.

I'm cool with it I guess. It's probably the only time where I could walk with my Pokemon like in HGSS. Walking around with my starter has been pretty cool.
