Iris? Is that her official name? Why is is called BestWishshipping? Is there a picture or something out already? How do you guys know this stuff? (I looked on Bulbagarden this time but didn't find anything. :/)
 
OKOK, Ms. Cavewoman, here's the backstory of what happened in the previous few million years XD

OK, so we got like some weird beta Artwork for the 5th generation. But it wasn't confirmed yet. Then we got a preview trailer for the 5th gen Anime, with one of the silhouettes matching the girl next to Ash in the beta art. So now we believed it and apparently her name is read as Iris.

The shipping name is BestWishshipping because that's what the next season is named.... Best Wishes. Don't ask me, I don't write those parts of Pokemon that are steaming piles of crap D:
 
Actually, it's not called BestWishesshipping yet....on the other sites everyone's racing to name it first, so there's going to be a poll somewhere. :/

Personally I'm going for either BestWishesshipping or Kuipershipping (the latter has a following on LJ, I forgot the meaning ATM).
 
After all the spam in this thread, I'm quite surprised I got an infraction o.O Bad person reporting posts, if anything, my post was less spam because it didn't generate discussion like spam conversation. So mysterious person, you were wrong. Well, I got to laugh at the wtf reaction of the mod and the quoted blank message, so it was OK.

With Bestwishshipping approaching, I may lean towards Pearlshipping forthwith (no, that doesn't mean I ship it). This new girl is so unappealing to me.

X-P Ha see here's what I don't get: I really did think all that stuff was on bulbagarden and I'd check it and I'd finally be caught up. But everytime I go there, nada. :( I think what happened is I bookmarked the wrong page and their search engine doesn't include news. That...would make sense...

Oh my gosh that is the new girl?? I hope not. Her hair takes crazy to a whole new level. What are they trying to do, kill the animators? At any rate, I don't think I'll be shipping AshXnew girl, whatever the official name ends up being. Imagine their kids! Ash's hair is already a little wild so with her genes in the pool, yikes!

Weird about the infraction... I mean, of everything crazy going on here, I would have thought if anything was gonna be reported it would've been long ago, but I don't understand how these things work...
 
Well... I don't think I'd want to talk about the Gene part of this shipping yet XD. But yeah, I could be the Eildritch Child of those two since my hair is close to along their lines of insanity. Although, I REALLY want to see Iris's personality first

Also, the thing is everything we talk about here is shipping related. Jorah posted a character bypass with no discussion, basically :(

In other super sexy news. Probably fake, but here is a summary of what I heard from the AshxIris thread at Bulba.

Basically, some guy knew some guy that worked with some guys. The old creepy dude in the beta is Iris's Mentor and they share some weirdass Pokemon Communication ability. Iris calls Ash her knight in eye ****ing shining armor because now he is stuck with her to travel all over the ****ing place to prevent nuclear wars from happening while Ash does his **** that he does every generation. Brock will be replaced by some random gay guy. ASSUMED! Because the dude has a Muuna XP

HAHAHAHA if the anime doesn't play out word-for-asterisked-word like you said, I think I'll be a little disappointed now. So, considering the whole Knight thing, will this start out with Iris having a crush on Ash? Dang. That sounds like the series is nearing an end and she'll end up with him eventually. *shivers* If he's not ending up with Misty, I'd rather see him alone forever or married to a Luvdisc or something.

At least Team Rocket is still there. *hugz*

What about their height? No one seems to bring that up. Judging by that trait, they look like brother/sister pair. They're forcing this girl to look like the female protagonist. Who knows, maybe some long-lost twin sister or something. And she'll show up in one episode and Brock will drool over her. Yes, drooling over the new girl's older sister.

I already wish Team Rocket got a new updated look already. I've been waiting for this the past two generations.

I think I'll wait until we find out what Iris's personality is actually like before I decide whether I like her or not. But I find it odd that since May, the girls have been shorter than Ash, even though they're all supposed to be 10; at that age girls are taller than boys o.O They switched May from being slightly taller/the same height as Ash to shorter than him, from what I remember.

Haha oh YGOTAS... how quotable art thee. Anyway, your ideas about Iris seem like they'd be really creative and new; therefore, I don't think they'll actually happen. Besides, if Ash met his long-lost sister, wouldn't his first question be "WHERE IS DAD?!" And that would be mean character development. We can't have that now, can we? O_o [By the way, I agree with you about Team Rocket getting an updated look-- they've had many one-time-use awesome Bad Guy costumes in recentish eps-- but I'm just glad they're still in it.]

Oh cool. I added my 2 cents, if my thoughts are worth even that much. And yeah, you're right: I won't totally discount Iris until we know her personality. But I feel biased against her based on principle. XP By the way, I don't think I voted this thread any amount of stars but that's pretty funny. (Maybe I did...?)

The Kuiper Belt is a short-period comet, a comet being a shooting star. You tend to WISH upon shooting stars, the name of the new anime series is Best WISHES...
