Sup. Imma join, as well as answer all the questions thus far with the many hours I have to waste.



Fave anime & fave character:
Elfen Lied. I don't know about character but probably Kaede (the young Lucy that is, her name was apparently originally Kaede) from the same anime.

Fave genre of anime:
War, which is why I'm going to get the whole Crest/Banner of the Stars series at some point when I get a new external hard drive to store the episodes on.

What genres do you like/dislike?
When not on the level of war, action (not in the typical style of DBZ, Naruto, etc.) of many kinds works fine. Comedy is okay but I'd rather something serious when given the choice. If character development can be considered a genre then that too. As for dislikes, I don't hate any genre outright... anime I don't like pivot more on their characters and plot than their genre.

What anime do you recommend the most to others?
I don't do recommendations. :|

Do you like shorter animes or long ones and why?
Shorter, I lack perseverance.

Name some animes you think not many have heard of that you have seen:
Ballad of a Shinigami... and that's the only one.

Do you think any anime characters are sexy/hot/cute?
Yes.

How much anime stuff do you own?
Very little outside the realm of data storage. I'm the "torrentmonger" breed of anime fan. xD

Name an anime you dropped and tell why you did not like it:
Shigurui... I didn't dislike it, I just didn't understand it at all. o_o

No.

If you bought a gift for your fave character, what would you get them & why?
I'd say a dog but she already has Wanta at her home place... Oh, I'd get her some clothes of her own since she always wears Yuka's. :0

What is your fave animal from an anime?
The aforementioned little dog named Wanta.

I don't watch enough anime with any real distinction between 'goodies' and 'badies' to say.

Well, yes. "Anime" is just a shortened Japanese form of "animation" anyway.

Do you get upset when people call japanese animation 'cartoons'?
No.

Do you commonly use words like 'nani' and 'baka' even though you can't speak Japanese?
No.

N/A, but I do know what they mean.

Have you learned all the Japanese you know from watching anime?
No.

Do you prefer subs, dubs or both?
As I prefer things to be in their original language, subtitles.

Do you have a subscription to an anime magazine or do you buy issues of one?
No and no.

Is there anything that you wished existed for anime merchandise but you cannot find it anywhere? For example a t-shirt or plush etc
No.

If you were in Japan, would you go to the studio of your favorite anime? And while you there, what would you do?
No... though I would probably get a cel.

If you could make an anime what might it be about?
I already have various ideas for when I can make manga pages nicely... The one about a Ukrainian girl known as Eza seems the most consistent and worthwhile. It's like Gunslinger Girl in that there's a girl running around with guns, but the setting is primarily drawn from the Pripyat levels of Call of Duty 4.

Have you been to an anime convention?
No, they don't exist in this country.

When you watch anime do you watch the Openings and Endings of the anime? Or you skip to the show?
I watch the opening and ending the first time I see them, but after that just skip them. If they change mid-anime (rarely happens since I watch short anime) then I'll watch the new ones once too.

What are your fave opening and ending songs?
"Kirameku Namida wa Hoshi ni" by Tainaka Sachi, second opening song to Fate/ Stay Night.
"Madoromi no Rinne" by Eri Kawai, ending song of Utawarerumono.

How do you watch anime?
I download it.

Is there a genre of anime you refuse to watch?
No.

Will you still watch anime when you are old?
Yeah. o_O There are some people on the AnimeSuki forums who are about 60.

Do you like any characters that have had very little screen-time, like just an episode or three?
Yes. Kisaragi (Elfen Lied) was a good woman but she died; D: and no, that's not a spoiler, she dies in the first five minutes of the first episode.

Can you immediately identify any seiyuu(voice actor/actress) by the sound of their voice?
Well, Momoi Haruko is an easy one to recognise 'cause she sounds... funny. Listen to a song by her and it becomes apparent.

What are your top ten animes? (and if you want: you can list why)
In no special order:

Crest/Banner of the Stars (even though I've watched very little of it, lol)
Gunslinger Girl (abandoned the anime in favour of the manga)

No episode I've seen is epic enough for me. :0 That and I don't want to spend the tedious effort necessary to recall every event of every episode so that I can decide a favourite.

New anime?... but I like old anime. :/

Yeah... A SPAS-12, 'cause everyone knows how stupid badass people armed with combat shotguns are. :O

Do you guys like anime or manga better?
Manga.

Is there a manga that you want to be made into an anime?
Yotsuba&!. I wouldn't watch it since I've got the manga but once Kiyohiko Azuma's done authoring it they should make an anime of it to give it some hype outside of the use of the titular character as 4chan's mascot... and obviously because many people prefer anime over manga.

Anyone own some anime t-shirts?
No. I think I could safely put that on the list of "billion things you won't find in this country".

What was your first manga that you ever got?
Azumanga Daioh.

What anime characters do you dislike & why?
Shana (Shakugan no Shana, in the manga at least), I find her brash personality distasteful and unfitting given her role.

What is the most recent anime you watched?
Most recently made or last watched? 'Cause I last watched the frist episode of Tenchi Muyo and... it's old.

Your opinion of fanservice in Anime?
Pointless unless the anime is built around some form of sexual theme (the harem genre for instance)... Blatant fanservice is what Agent Aika is for.

What anime character do you think would be best to go on a vacation with you, and where?
I feel I've mentioned Elfen Lied too much here but I'm going to mention it again and say I'll take Nana. :3

Anyways! Hey everyone~ Sorry about not posting for a while. :3 I'll post more from now on. xD

Well the latest anime I finished was Princess Tutu, it was beautiful, but had a bittersweet ending..at least for me. xD

I can't really take live-action gore..though animated is fine. :3 Higurashi FTW! I'll take my chances when the live-action movie comes out though since it's Higurashi! xD

Oh and good news~ Funimation got Higurashi. :D

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei volume 1 comes out December 26. There's going to be Three Arcs for the OVA. I'm so happy that Saikoroshi-hen will get animated, I've always wanted to see that since I read that little description on Wiki. xD

Also an Umineko (sucessor to Higurashi) anime has been announced. I can't wait~

You know what's funny? I kept seeing that HT posted and what not, and then i went to the thread and couldn't see her post no matter what i did. So anyway like a good member I go to reply. Well I scroll down to read what some of the post were and there HT was.

Anyway...aside from my computer going all psycho on me. It's not just this site it's doing it with other sites, but it'll get better soon. :P

Enough about my precious lappy.

So I'm watching Grave of the Fireflies...anyway it's not the most happy film on the face of the planet. The last time I watched it i cried, but I'm hoping to stay strong through it.

Princess Tutu...*jots down*...i have a running list of anime that i want to see. I'm such a dork...leave me alone! *gets struck by lightning*

I remember crying through that movie..it was sad. DX

Yeah I'm not even close to beginning the animes i want to watch. Time is winding down and I'm losing it quickly. college is starting in a few weeks so it's going to get hectic here. *le sigh* I'll build up my list so I have a whole bunch of animes to watch.

what is one anime you could have done without seeing? I know there are movies that i feel like was a waste of 2 hours of life to watch and just killed more brain cells than i wanted. Are there any anime that you've seen like that?
 
That award goes to Lucky Star (no offense to its fans) for me. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen and fell asleep in the middle of an episode.

But anyway...

Episode 4 for Strike Witches was interesting--the character I thought I'd see the backstory to wasn't who I expected at all.

Episode 5 looks like the mandatory beach episode.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be at least one trip to the beach in every anime?
 
Every slice-of-life or harem or romance anime i've ever watched has a beach episode in it. From what I've seen so far it really serves no purpose to the plot, and the only reason is to see the girls in bikini's i would suppose...*mutters* fanservice...grr...
 
Fan service doesn't bother me but then again I am a fangirl so I like the pretty boy fan service.
 
I don't know. I don't like fanservice. I tolerate it because the anime is good. If the anime is good and the fanservice is too much for me (which isn't hard to accomplish for me, i'm afraid...) then i just kind of stop watching the anime. But sometimes I overlook a lot for the sake of the anime. But I'm odd...what can I say! :P
