Well I can't see much use in this. I mean if we are going to Mod someone then we Mod some one to be added to a forum.
And it shouldn't make the member less spammy. Because we don't need spammy Mods (if it's a good member then they shouldn't be spammy).
 
A mod for the day? What a nice idea. I've already got a suggestion - Maca! After him, Jess! I'm sure they won't trash PC too much if we treat them kindly.

In other words, what the heck? We're not going to mod some random member for the day. If we want somebody modded, they get modded, and stay as a mod.
 
I hate to tell you this, but I don't think that will make the members behave. Maybe a few, but some will still act out.
 
People shouldn't be good just to be a mod. They should be good as a member anyway, for having the privlege to post at a great place like PC~ ^^
PC has tons of mods anyway, and there'll always be spammy members.

And people might act good just for the sake of getting a mod position, then go around spammy and closing random threads and stuff... so yeah. o.o;
 
I don't really like this idea.Don't you think pc has enough mods.
 
Well we have Presidents & Vice-Presidents, who are elected by the members themselves. Or if you want your name in big Green, Donate to PC. We donot need another Usergroup now, do we.

Well if they had higher powers then a mod they could start taking over Pc.Unless we just had position like the donation people.You know what i mean don'rt give them powers just the title for a few days.M'kay.
 
Exactly what Andy said. We mods had to earn our modship, and I myself would be pretty angry if some random newbie got modded - even if only for the day - just because s/he "acted good". If somebody is to become a mod, the higher staff must agree first, and then the mod keeps their position until they get promoted/leave/mess up/etc. Sorry, but this idea has no chance of being accepted.

How about things just stay as they are?
If people spam (a lot), they get banned. End of story. No need to go through the hassle of making a new usergroup and looking for random "good acting" people and all that stuff.
 
We had a similar suggestion in that a motw would be picked by staff and given a coloured name for a week.
Things just get too hectice if we have people coming and going >.<
We pick members to be mods who are active and helpful in that particular area that needs a mod. We only pick mods when we need new ones for an area, so we'd have random mods floating around with this idea ^^;
With the coloured names, we have enough confusion with the people who donate (some members don't understand that the coloured green name isn't staff ^^; ) so i don't thnk it'd work out.
When a mod leaves an area and we are looking for a new mod, or when an area becomes too active for the current mods to handle, everyone has a chance of becoming the new mod as long as they are helpful and active ^^
Thanks for the suggestion, but it would just lead to too much confusion
