Alright so my computer is running on very low disk space (these messages keep appearing and it says I have 8 gigs left when I click on my C drive).
So I ran a programme to check where most of this was coming from, and most of it was coming from the application data folder. Now my questions are:
What would happen if I deleted this folder?
Is there any point deleting this folder?
    And
Will anything be messed up if I delete it?

Coolio, thanks for your time, I know you're all busy guys and gals.. and other so yeah, appreciated :D

EDIT-I've dwelt deeper and found out it's the Backup folder that's taking up all of the space so.. yeah wat do?

The best thing to do is to transfer the backup folder to some sort of external drive: a USB pen drive or an external hard drive will do sufficently. Afterwards, feel free to remove the folder from your computer's hard drive to make more space.

Additionally, if you're running out of space on your computer, you may have things that you don't need on your computer, you should delete them. If you can't part with these files, you should try to get an external hard drive where you can backup the files that you need. This should solve your problem. There is also a program called RegClean that cleans up data such as your cache made by your computer that can be deleted. It also increases the speed of your computer by fixing registry errors, etc. I think in your situation, you'll be able to put it to good use.

Now, for the application data folder, as the name implies, it's data from applications, and sometimes programs may be stored there. You might even still have data from programs that you don't need anymore, so you'll probably want to look through it to see if you have things you don't need in it, and delete those parts.

Also, if you don't need the Backup folder, put it on an external HDD in case your computer crashes, and delete it off your main HDD.

If you dont plan to re-image your PC after the backup, I recommend not deleting the app. data folder because several programs on your PC store their data in there, and deleting the folder might cause the programs to mess up.. But do back up documents, pictures, videos, music, etc and delete programs you might not need :)

Don't go through the App Data folder. There's a reason it's a hidden folder. It's to protect it so you don't delete it. It's got important data for programs on your computer, much of it stuff that is required for those programs to function properly.

As for your backup folder, get an external hard drive and put the data on there.

I can't fathom how in the world your App Data folder contains the most of any of your system. Heck. Mine isn't even 1 gigabyte on this 'ere computer I'm on.

Quite honestly, if you delete that folder, you're probably going to screw your programs and or operating system up, badly.

My suggestion is to hop to upgrading your hard drive or start deleting other less important stuff, whichever is the problem.

Might be a virus. Try running a virus scan with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Actually, to clarify what I was trying to say, see if there is any reall data in here. For instance, mIRC put downloads from DCC connections in there, and if so, you might want to uninstall those programs and reinstall them so that their data will be new, and you won't have to deal with a bunch of data from years maybe of using these programs.

I MIGHT have forgotten to mention this was in the backup folder in My Documents.
So yeah. Is there any point in deleting it now?
Because I can't see the one that's in My Computer (as it is still hidden after I set all the folders to show hidden ones).

    (sorry)
