Apply to be a mod!?

I think like in some places having open (and public) mod postings and such could help. Like lets say the RP section, people generally want a mod who is reasonable and on a few times a week so as to approve RP threads. However it would be up to the deciders to weed out the popularity that might be garnered from 1 application from a favourite member. After all, the mods are trying to chose the best choice, not the most popular.

Plus it helps to have a descent handle on how RPs work and to differentiate between good and bad ones.

I'd apply to the RP though and would do so in a professional but fun manner. One thing people don't realise that a good quality in modership is, is taking out the emotion. In that way, it sometimes is best if moderating is earned so as the mod picking team can discern who would be the most level headed. Of course an open system would diminish the amount of potential applicants. And yay for post history.

I wouldn't apply to be a mod I rather prefer to get chosen because If I'm chosen to be a mod it means that people think I'm up for the job and it means I stand out. Also another reason why I wouldn't apply to be a mod would be because I'm new here:).

If PC had applications to be a moderator again that had to be posted in public, would you apply to become a moderator?
Yes. Make me a mod right here and now.
In all seriousness, while I would like the position, I would definitely not apply, for while I would like to help the community, I do not think I have the skills to correctly handle such a position.

If so, why?
This community has been great to me, and I would love to help it back. That's what led me to become a supporter in the first place. However,

If not, why not?
To quote Spiderman's Uncle, with great power comes great responsibility. I absolutely hate showing signs of imperfection, and one single instance of poor judgment would harm me psychologically much more even than the person receiving the poor judgment's effect.

What forum would you like to moderate?
No preference. Assuming I knew I would make no mistakes, therefore applying, any forum that I regularly view (about half the forums on the site) would do.

How would you go about filling the application? Make it professional, make it laid back and friendly?
I would freak out and spend countless hours writing my application as formal as humanly possible. Being formal and serious comes out of me naturally, and almost every attempt to lay back and sound goofy ends up a huge failure.

Would you apply to become a moderator?
Probably would, if only to see where I stand when the H-staff puts aside their personal disagreements with me and puts their staff hats on.
If so, why? If not, why not?
Why not? Honestly, I don't care how much any one of them likes or dislikes me, it's a matter of being able to contribute as much as I can until my 'last breath' on PC. :P
What forum would you like to moderate?
OVP for certain. I'd accept places like Computers & Technology, Other Chat, Other Trivia or VIP if they needed the mod.
How would you go about filling the application, Make it professional or make it laid back and friendly?
I'd certainly put some work into it. I'd try to be as clear and concise about everything as I could, while maintaining my usual fun loving tone. XD

I would be a mod for other voting polls because I'm always posting in it and I love this place. I'd be laid back but I wouldnt be so laid back I wouldnt care about anything.

No thanks. I'd rather be a regular than someone of actual importance.

I'll be following the rules, thank you very much.

And I'd preferred to be asked, because that would mean someone thinks I have the talents to be one.

It depends when the applications are up. At this exact moment no, because I am academically busy, but later I probably would, what have you got to lose?

If so, why?
I love being on PC and I contribute well by posting and I would like to help further by keeping sections of the forum up to standard.

What forum would you like to moderate?
Ermm something to do with pokemon XD Preferably the Black and White section as that is where I am really active and always lurking.

How would you go about filling the application? Make it professional, make it laid back and friendly?
More laid back and friendly, this is a pokemon forum not anything formal. But it would be still serious and appropriate. I think a fun Moderator who knows when to go into Mod mode are always the more effective and easy to approach which is very important.

I don't really have any time for something like moderating a forum right now. But it's something I've wanted to have the opportunity of doing, or let's say.. I want to experience it. I've been a moderator on a couple of other forums before, but I think PC would give me a different experience. :D

If so, why?

Uh, I don't really have any specific reasons. I'm just a tad ambitious. And let's say that I just want to.

What forum would you like to moderate?
Hmmm.. there are quite a lot o forums I lurk around and visit. If this question had been asked to me around my first year of joining PC, my answer would've been the Rom Hacking Section probably. The Off-topic sections, or any of the Pokemon related sections would be my choice.

How would you go about filling the application? Make it professional, make it laid back and friendly?

Probably more laid back and friendly than professional. I would leave bits of my personality here and there, and be serious when the situation calls for it.
