I went through that freshman year...it's an initiation into the type of crappy literature that you're bound to read for the rest of high school <_<;

IT'S NOT!!!!!!!! It's horribly horribly crappy!
It's one of those books that you can read the first and last two pages and know EVERYTHING that happened in the middle of the book o_o;; cause it like.. summarizes it after.

But it's SO pointless!!

So Jack's gone now? That's just great...who will I have to obsess over Gundam SEED, s-CRY-ed and Evangelion characters with? D:

Rei smilie................*awed glare*

T___T Someone save me from To Kill A Mockingbird....I swear I'll burn this book....>__>

Thats a book my English teacher is gonna make me read after this cycle ends. Have you ever read the book "Lovely Bones" it's great, its the only book I love to read after school.

Oddly enough, To Kill a Mockingbird was one of my favorite required reading books in high school, even to the point of where I stayed up after my bedtime in order to read it...though that might just be an indication of just how boring/bad the other books were. :/ Heck, my french teacher saw the book list one year, and said the books were...well, while she used a french word, I can't say it here. Heh.

(How long has it been since I've posted in one of these DCC threads...a few months? My gosh...)

Cowrie: Meh, I think I've just read it too much @.@ It's not of something I'm particularly interested in.

RL: Never read that.

Hi Cowrie!! :3 *waves and smiles brightly*~
I've never read To Kill a Mockingbird, and I can say that I've never enjoyed a english book from school~

@@ The worst book I was forced to read was The Giver. Has anyone read that?
o_o That book is just... messed.

Hey Cowrie ^^

Anyways~ Farwell to Manzanar...started out boring, but now I really like it ;x It's one of the books we have to read in English.

RL: Never read that.

There's another one I read last year, I think its called "The catcher in the rye"

Our teacher forced us too read it, too.

A bit bland, but it wasn't the worst book I've read. =x

Lolz it's Paul. XD

I don't read often, but a book we recently read in Language Arts is "Taking Sides" by Gary Paulsen. It's not that bad. 8D

Anything's better than Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, though...600 pages of trite, self-indulgent drivel slapped with an inconsistent and often nonexistent racism subplot to make the critics gush over it. It's.........augh, I've ran out of words to complain about it. Just never read it.
