I have issues with the voice actors of the dub...IMO, Ritsuko could have gotten a much more vixen-sounding voice and Maya could have had Ritsuka's voice. Gendo's voice wasn't as deep either. Asuka's voice was good, and it was emotional too. Shinji's voice was O.K, but was probably the only one that could scream that good. The best voice actor that compairs to the original Japanese seiyuu was Fuyutsuki's voice. I liked that one~

Neh,I guess. o_o But back then, most of the VAs that we have now weren't in the business. I did like the Japanese dub better, but that doesn't mean I didn't like the English one, it's overall one of the best dubs for it's time...then again, one of the other best dubs they had to deal with was Pokemon. XD

Speaking of which...if one were to redub Evangelion with newer actors, which actors would be best for each of the roles?

I think that if I ever moved to Texas, I would LOVE to be a voiceover artist. I dunno, it's some far off dream of mine <3

I actually enjoyed it this year o_O She bought exceptionally good dye and I made some incredibly vivid eggs...heh. Interestingly enough, I never eat them because I hate hardboiled eggs XD

Speaking of which, saw the most wacked out episode of Evangelion last night. Shinji was all "I don't know who I am!!" and stuff...like dude, what a wuss. XD

Shinji - Johnny Young Bosch - He's got that calm voice that matches Shinji and does a pretty good "freaked out" voice that would be good for Shinji in the later episodes.

Rei - Melissa Fahn - Not much of a change from Amanda Winn, but I just think she can do the quite lonely voice a lot better.

Asuka - I'd leave her the same

Misato - Leave the same or get Wendee Lee to do it.

Touji - Kirby Morrow

Ritsuko - Michelle Ruff

That's about all I'd change for the main cast really.

I think you'd feel that way too if the entire consciousness of the human race was suddenly transferred into your soul XD


Jorfe: I like all of those choices, but I just couldn't bear Shinji to sound like Vash the Stampede XD

I could...which is why I put him there. XD It's not an obvious choice though, I think that the voice matches the character great. XD

My God, we do think alike.

The only anomalies are Kirby Morrow as Touji and Tiffany Grant reprising her role as Asuka. Wendee Lee probably could do a better job than Allison Keith as Misato. Ritsuko's more of a Mary Elizabeth McGlynn kind of person in my opinion.

Joshua Seth, Yuri Lowenthal, or Jason Spisak might also make decent Shinjis. But then again, I can't imagine Shinji sounding like Sasuke or Ryuho.

I'd put JYB as more of a Kensuke Aida o_o;

For Shinji...well, it's not like I can come up with any ideas of my own. I can name less than five VAs XD

As long as Seth doesn't use his "tai" voice I'd be happy...I lost respect for him after he did that SD Gundam rap. XD

Hehe, being a voice actress would be awesome, i can do a bit, but not good enough xD
 
I've wanted to be a voice actor myself, admittedly, until I realized I was far too valuable to waste on TV productions. >|

With the way everyone's discussing Evangelion, I should start watching it soon.

I guess being a voice actor wouldn't be so bad. oO But my throat's been a pain in the butt lately so I'd probably get fired early or something like that. D:
