Does anyone know how to open the ROM with Pokemon Synthesis? When I tried to open my Japanese FireRed ROM, it won't load at all. I hope the program don't reqiure actual Japanese language to open the editor.

i know that similar questions have been asked before, but none of the answers posted have been very helpful, so I'll ask it again.

I want to change the surf sprite in pokemon leaf green. Mainly, I want to change the thing the player is riding on. How do I find it? It acts like an overworld sprite in the game (I think) but it is not with all the rest of the overworld sprites. I'm using tile molester and a few other programs. Please explain in great detail, I'm slow sometimes. For example, is the offset you will undoubtedly give me a hex or a decimal value?

W00t! first post! :D

Yes hello, I have a dexter question.

While trying to load Fire Red from dexter, I get the prompt stating, "Supported ROM, but PokeDex base is unspecified."

What do I need to do in order to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance.

You cant edit fire red with dexter... but the things that dexter does edit, is editable with YAPE.
(Except the foot print... I have forgotten if dexter edits the foot print as well, been so long since I have looked at that old device...)

Try looking around for YAPE in the Toolbox...

I am trying to hex edit a type bar icon thingy, and I have followed this tut: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/141611. Although, what do I have to search up? It says in step 9 that I have to search up the "bytes". Are the bytes the paired up numbers? If so, where do I search them in my hex editor?? This wasn't explained clear enough. =/

I'm trying to create a ruined city in my Pokemon Fire Red hack. Unfortunately, the ROM doesn't have any tiles that look like they're ruin material. So I figured that I could use a block editor to get the same effect. I know that Advance Map includes a block editor, but I can't seem to get it right. Every time I try to increase the number of tiles in a given set, the program wigs out on me. Like this:

https://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll17/DE5PA1r/Step4.jpg?t=1228486140

https://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll17/DE5PA1r/Step5.jpg?t=1228486156

I can't even begin to try to figure this out for myself, and none of the tutorials here or around the internet go over the block editor function of Advance Map. Any help?

1. The block editor probably won't give a good enough effect.
2. I dunno.

Try insertin' some new tiles. :P

...What are they?
And, please, I am a beginner, and I don't appreciate your >_>. If I am looking at it the right way, it is a face of impacience, and the answer to the question would have been "something I should have already known".

Thus the first 6 values are...
Code:
CF CC AA AA CC AC

So, search for them in your Hex Editor.

Also, in that picture I circled 7 values, because I can't count. Anyway...

HI!
I'm hacking Pokemon Fire red and was thinking...
Can I make an Evolution based on gender?
and if yes...how can I make it?

Heys.. trying to patch an IPS to ROM. Using the correct rom, tried Lunar IPS and WinIPS, when I try to boot on my PSP using gpSP I just get a white screen. Namely.. tried patching Shiny Opel, Twilight, and Liquid Ocean. All Fire Red IPS's but damned if I can get them to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be your Firmware. The emulator might not be capable of running it. I had the same problem when I had a PSP.

Also, if you are using a slim or phat, it could change your emulation results.

I used a Phat 3.90 M33-3 Firmware with 1.50 Kernel mode.
If you use a Phat, try Downgrading, and switching between 1.50 Kernel modes.

As Ninja Caterpie Below me says, teh computer is the best way to go... unless your PC is like mine... too slow... lol

Don't play it on your PSP. Play it on the computer, as it's meant to be played. :\ Otherwise, can't help you there.

The easiest solution I can think of would be following Nidoran as example.
Sorry, that wouldn't work.
Nidoran Male and Nidoran Female are two different Pokemon, with different movesets and Pokedex descriptions. xP

Please read what I wrote: easiest.
Of course it's not exactly what did he ask, which would require ASM indeed.
...
Oh wait...I know.
Make two different Pokemon! That's what you meant?
