I was playing as Dawn in Pokemon Diamond and I got to the part to the part where there's heavy snow and blizzard going on. All the enemies I encountered were dressed in full winter attire some in ski gear, then I start to wonder. Why isn't Lucas and Dawn cold? Wouldn't they freeze to death wearing that little?

That's an interesting thought you got there. I personally think that Lucas and Dawn are that strong willed about becoming the Champion/s of Sinnoh that they wouldn't let anything stand in the way of victory, even heavy snow. There's that, which I think is less logical way of thinking about this, then there's that Lucas and Dawn can take the cold really well to the point that they can walk through massive piles of snow. That doesn't make as much sense as the other, but it seems less illogical when you put this to practice.

Be thankful that in Platinum, Lucas and Dawn are wearing clothes meant for winter weather. :p

Probably! I think it just wasn't something GF thought about haha. But like Nonon said, a least they got new outfits in Platinum that were much more suitable for the Sinnoh climate. d:

They probably would be but then again Pokemon doesn't have much common sense if you think about it. 10 year olds with legendaries, anybody? It'd be weird designing winter clothes for the character to wear, if it's only just for one stage. Most of the game in D/P looks hot and sunny so it'd be logical for summer clothes. But yes, if you think about it they'd definitely be freezing. They have that weird scarf-like thing though iirc, so that might help!

^ What he said just there.

Sometimes things don't make much sense in Pokemon games, Dawn's D/P attire especially (dat short skirt) is a good case of "exposed to the elements" would not have been suitable in winter weather in real life but then again they did get an outfit redesign in Platinum that actually had them wearing coats so yeah I guess Game Freak must have known about that snow when redesigning Lucas and Dawn in Platinum.

If they'd implemented some feature that didn't permit you to go into snowy places without changing your dress, that would have been great. There isn't much locations like this, though, so I'm not really sure if it'd actually be worth to put in such effort, haha.

There are a lot of inconsistencies and loose ends in Pokemon, as with any video game. Game Freak probably didn't feel it was necessary to pay that close attention to detail. I didn't even notice when I played through Sinnoh originally, haha. They may have added a feature like Ashley said, but it would've been rather useless for the rest of the region.

I used to wonder this oddly enough, especially when you walk around Snowpoint City and your character is like, neck-deep in snow. Obviously since it's a game they wouldn't make the characters actually cold, but if it were real life or an anime I would say definitely.
