I always wondered if you could fail in catching a tera raid pokemon, I throw an Ultra ball fearing that it might escape... Can it really happen or the poor 'mon is destined to get caught?

    From Bulbapedia:

"Defeating the Tera Pokémon within the time limit will cause the Pokémon to cease being Terastallized, at which point the player is given the chance to select a Poké Ball from their bag and can catch the Pokémon. This capture cannot fail, regardless of the type of ball used, or whether the player is the host or participant of the battle."

    (Added bold for emphasis.)

Oh thank you! Now I don't need to worry about wasting my good balls if I can use the cheap ones, lol

I'd say use the 100% catch rate as a chance to put the Pokémon in whatever ball you want! I love variety. For example, I love putting Water-type Pokémon in Dive Balls, Bug-types in Net Balls, Electric-types in either Quick Balls or Fast Balls, Salamence in Great Balls, and so on!
