Depends on how old you look.

Some 18-year-old's can probably get away with it, if they look younger than they are.

In general though, I say 17 or 18 is the limit. Past that, I'd imagine you'd get bashed enough times that it would just stop being enjoyable anymore. That, and once you're past 16-ish.. it's just not that fun anymore. I enjoy Halloween, and going to haunted houses.. even walking around outside on Halloween night is nice. Trick or treating itself.. holds no appeal to me anymore, and hasn't for a handful of years now.

Some adults like trick and treating, so i think there really isn't a limit.

I agree even though I really don't want to. xD My birthday falls on Halloween, so as a kid I used to get such a huge kick out of celebrating my birthday and trick-or-treating all on the same night. It's kind of depressing to know it's not as exciting as it used to be... I'd always be the first kid to ring the doorbell and scream the magic words at every house. Now if I go it's only as a last resort because I can't make any other plans, which is pretty much every Halloween since most of my friends are away at school and my family is too busy with their own plans.

I don't think there's an age limit for trick or treating. It's just a matter for whoever wants to go outside and get free candy.

I would say probably around 16/17 at maximum and if you look pretty young.

I don't like giving anything to the older teens who come to the door. Unless they try really hard with their costumes. :3

It's fine if you are accompanying a younger sibling, your child and possibly it's friends, or other young family member. However, if you're older than about 16, then don't expect anything in the way of candy. It ceases to be about the candy at about that age in my opinon. (But it's still a bonus when you get any. XD)

Now if you're alone...the fun stops at 16-18. It becomes more about the 'tricks' than the treats...not that you can have much fun with the tricks these days. It's still fine to wear a costume on Halloween though even if all you do is wear it all day and do no trick-or-treating.

Once your a senior in high school (17-18) you're pretty much on your last year. Altho, where I live its not that common for anyone above 16 to go :/

no way jose, i say if the universe is going to stick me in the body of a perpetually baby-faced short girl, i'm going to "perpetually" indulge in childlike activities.

really tho, everyone can partake in halloween activities, i wun judge (unless you look sketchy, a sexual offender of sorts >_>)

When you're 16+ it really just starts getting silly. It's a child's activity, and they're adorable so get the right to free candy. If some scrounging group of loser teenagers turns up on my doorstep, I'm telling them to get lost.

I'd say 16-18 is pushing it. Once you get that old, why not just go to a Halloween party where you can dress up and get free candy without going door to door and weirding out both the younger trick-or-treaters and the neighbors...

My parents wouldn't give out candy to the older kids unless I happened to be friends with them (then we moved out to the country where we would get NO trick-or-treaters at all, but that's a different story). We shut down our trick-or-treat operation after 8:00 or 8:30 IIRC to avoid the older teens.

Too old? Never! You can if you want to.
Though I can't really assure you that everyone's going to give you candy. xD

No, I am only 10, but I may not go.

My mom's 50 something year old friend went trick or treating last year. However, she's painfully creepy. See, I am cute and look young so heck yeah I want my yearly overdose of free candy.

Most trick or treaters here are really young, like 5-10 years old. 10-13 is uncommon; 14-17 is rare. 18+ concerns neighbors = they give you less candy because you should get a job! fml. :(

I would say 17-18 is the limit, after that, I think it'd start to lose its affect of fun.
