Suggestion: Are you online? (Not a chat!)

The green light/online symbol varies on different skins - for example, I can see you're online whilst using 'Color Flattered X'.

Spoiler:

^That's you on my [Let's Fly Together [Legacy]] theme. ^^

What's up?
Are you online?
I noticed that you must open an account to know that he was online, I remember seeing a green light next to the member's name in a thread, which means he's online, a long time ago.

Why remove it? It's a good idea!

It's because of the way it's coded.

In the templates, which are pretty much the source code for the front end of the website, we use if conditions to meet the user control panel criteria that Zach posted about.

There isn't an if condition separating members from guests (to my knowledge) with different conditionals expressed in the code. Because there's an if condition around the online indicator in the code, that condition has to be met in order for you to see it. And that condition is having user online status checked off in your user CP. Guests don't have User CPs to check it off. So because they don't have that, they won't be able to check off that option. And because they can't check that option, they can't see if someone is online while viewing a thread.

Some styles let people see it because those styles don't have that condition written in the code, or the style creator noticed that and added an if condition for guests, which allows them to see if someone is online.
