Are you PC addict?

i'm not addicted...at least not as much as I used to be...nowadays I primarily come on just to check up on my moderating domain and look what's happening in OC and MVP...
plus now, I've got forums of my own to worry about...

Well.I'm pretty addicted. LOOK! I have 1010 posts and I have been joined for less than a month!

Not at all... I can manage dinner out of the house. I didn't worried about PC at all.. :P

lol...this evening, I was out of the house for like three hours and I forgot to put up an away message on MSN, which is something I tend to do a lot...

oh.. lol hat y u didn't answer me! I was like hello!

post counts don't reflect a single thing to me... your point? (yes I am rather harsh to bring out my points sometimes... either live with it, or *constructively* flame me back)

I should clear myself up a bit... I am addicted to PC only because of the possibly good topics and people posting here. These 2 factors are sadly changing in a not so bright direction.

Where's all those metacognitive discussions we have in the old days? Now we only have "yes or no" polls. There are those "listing type" of topics where we just throw out a list of junk and we earn a post count. Then there are those "state that water is wet" topics. Finally we have the weirdest "I blast you apart with *insert types of weapon here* Muwhahaha" posts... Those are fine if you include them in part of your post and talk about the topic at hand later in the post after the crazy talk, but really... A whole post of that insanity without contributing to the topic at hand is rather disturbing. Hope PC can really go back to its original ways one day... I missed it. *sigh*

Neither you, nor I really knew what the old PC was like. Assuming you?re talking about early this year I mean. If you?re talking a few months ago, then I suppose. It doesn?t get better by just complaining, you really have to do something. I?m hoping these new mods will take charge of their sections and get some good activity flowing. Don?t be too pessimistic, it?s not over yet.

oh certainly I didn't give up yet... or else why the heck am I still posting at PC? ^_^

Just that one person can't do too much to change a community... a community is a gathering of people (not person), and it takes the PEOPLE to change a community *ahem*

EDIT: Old PC to me = my stay in PC before the great PC restart

Yeah, but you can pave the way. Someone has to stand up and start it, besides people doing it boils down to you doing it, in addition and with collaboration with others. How can you ask other?s to do what you aren?t? I?m not saying you aren?t doing things to restore it; just getting at the ?one person? thing.

well if PC never restarted...id've probly never came back...i just thought of it as a fresh start! and so i came back! (and i think i might remember those kinda polls...but i cant remeber...) :P

Well, it can't take that long... I guess... ^^;

20 posts per day.. bleh...

Well, I was, because I had nothing to do on summer vacation, I was so bored I came back to a place I thought I hated o_O ^___^
I don't have any friends IRL. For real. I just talk to everyone who might come close, and that's it. I don't like it. But I find it a real pleasure to talk with people on PC. ^_^
But I'm not addicted. If I want to, I can stay off days. Weeks. Months. Years. Sure. If I had something better to do!
I have no shortcuts or anything like that to PC. ^_^ I just come here, not daily anymore though...

still, I'm not sure? Anyone thinks me is addicted to PC? o_O
You don't invite anyone to your house? Ever? Heh, I guess it interests you to talk with older people instead. I'm imagining that your grade 5 classmates are looking over at you all the time wanting to be cool like you. :P But it's good that you aren't addictted, being addicted at young age is totally fatal - wrecks your long-term future standings. Of course, PC loves to have you around so don't leave for those longer periods of time you mentioned please lol. :P ^_____^

It'll never go back dude. :P Too many old members, like Gr8Person62 left, and Lightning's usually away from PC. They left because they obviously saw the reality of what was on PC (not much) sooner instead of later. Anyway, there's that topic about Saddam though, I'm suprised and yet not suprised at the same time there was such a topic. Suprised because there really wasn't a topic anywhere close to somethind like that in :\ 2-3 month at least? And not suprised since it's such popular news. :P

Lightning?s doing school, but people like orange*berry probably left for that reason. Don?t clump everyone together, you should know that 22sa. Looking back on the old database I fail to see a lot of why certain legends were called such. If anything some are very unpleasant it seems. Perhaps someday someone will look back at us like that? Maybe. I still think people are far too pessimistic about us. The people who leave are just giving in to their sorrows and do nothing to further our future. Those who live and face them are the only ones who will make a difference. I can understand time or internet constraints though.

Yes the Saddam Hussein thread and this thread brought PC some hope... the fact that the mods let a "political thread" live is a good step towards the old days. And seeing that there are criticism that are flameless, PC is regaining its maturity. Hopefully as more news on terrorism come along, PC will keep up this mature look on these news, so that one day the political ban will be lifted.

This thread is very metacognitive as well. People posting here are showing their thoughts into this discussion. People are starting to "think first, post later" now. More thoughts into your posts mean more quality in posts as well. This all leads to rebuilding PC to its high quality posting age.

As for the pessimistic idea... you are half full Kairi, but I'm half empty. But that doesn't stop me from pumping PC full. There is a difference between despairity and being a pessmist. Being a pessmist simply means having a negative look on things, but that doesn't mean the pessmist is hopeless... by being a pessmist it prepares me for the worst to come so I can act in advance. But if you're hopeless, then life itself shall weep for you...

You can only do what you for so long a time, on a site like this, then you leave to find something else. It just happens. But you're right, there's new things, like frostweaver's RPG-creating activities or those new games in FunLand - and it can hard be hard to put up with them sometimes. Especially when you get old vets leaving - why the past might seem more interesting is, like frostweaver said, the members and the topics. The past was fun. :P I personally enjoyed it back in June/July, because I owned like half the threads in Other Chat. ^_^

I think it's safe to say that PC's golden age, and semi-golden ages occured between Nov. 2002 - Feb. 2003, in June 2003, and in September 2003. <--PC's kind of special for September :). All the other pokemon forums hit rock bottom when school started, their average posts per day got kicked back at least by 1/3. PC didn't fall again till sometime in October (Sadly, the bringing back of the MOTM added to this, just as Keitaro explained later.).

Heh, but what's most awkward is probably the fact the Admin isn't active. And he'll probably stay that way for a long long time. Like I said in my last post, it's impossible for things to be like they were in the past, things have become complicated. :P That rule against threads about politics and the 25 character limit (As little as it may seem, it lead to more and more limiting :\ :P) for example.

I don't believing that ban anyway. It's based on the fact that political threads only bring pain to PC - which I still can't believe but whatever. If it was true, what brought joy then? :\ ??? Besides, immaturity is shown by people who can't take insults properly, more so then people who insult. And I guess that Saddam thread did get a decent number of replys too. ^_- It brought some more thoughtful posts as well as members like SA whom wouldn't likely post otherwise.
