    As long as it's clear that "tutorial overabundance" and "player freedom" actually aren't inherently related (as in, you could have way too many tutorials sprinkled throughout an open-world exploration game, or you could have no tutorials at all in a very linear game), I think it's definitely an interesting idea to compare how the series has progressed in terms of the amount--and necessity--of tutorials, as well as the overall linearity. This gets an approval from me.
     
    Alright, I'll start drafting when life decides to give me a short rest, which hasn't happened yet this week :(

    I see exactly where the original poster is coming from. The difference is that this generation of gamers are a whole different group of gamers. This subject has my attention for sure.
