Hmm.. you guys have some crazy theories, but i still seriously think that Ash's dad is either the narrator, or the Giovanni personally..
 
wel, i personally think, because Giovannis son kind of looks like Ash, in a wierd way,(Giovanni's son is the pokethief from G/S)

Feh ... I also like the idea of Giovanni being Ash's dad ... someone mentioned that Delia seemed the type to go for a dark, mob-type guy like Giovanni, and I have to agree. Ho-oh being the re-incarnation of Ash'a dad DOES make sense, in a twisted sort of way ... Someone said that it appeared in the first or second episode, so ... a sign? It seems strange that they would give us a preview of the G/S games before the original season had even began if there wasn't a reason ... they could also tie this into the last episode, ne? I can see it now ... Ash soaring across a sunset sky, Ho-oh a bright gold beneath him, and then we have Star Wars de ja vu ... "Ash ... I am your father ..." >| That would be so stupid. D: I want his dad to be Giovanni, 'cause Giovanni rawcks. ;3

lols.. I'm not that much of a great fan of Giovanni, but yeah.. if Ash's dad weren't a shinou trainer, it'll be a cool plot if Ash's dad was Giovanni.. wow. imagine a movie on Ash and his father~ lols.

Yes but maybe at that time they have already been developing new pokemon games and they only wanted to make some kind of a commercial for it like:
-˝Wow what is this for a pokemon?˝
-˝I don't know let's just wait for new series and buy cool pokemon stuff maybe we'll get the toy pokemon...˝

I dunno, even though Prof. Oak is like...300 years old...if you look closely you can see how he and ash look alike. Besides, Delia and Oak are ALWAYS togther. xD

But I dunno, it'd be sort of weird...Gary's his grandson...so then Ash... blech weird.

Maybe his dad is just dead somewhere... -shrug-
It may always be a mystery... o_o

Oh gosh... nonononono... I'll really faint if Delia and Oak were together.. I really cannot imagine Oak as Ash's dad.. besides, it was mentioned before that Ash's dad was a Pokemon trainer who went on a journey, so there's no way it's Oak.. I'll rather believe a story that Oak is closely related to Ash's dad or something.. (but well, if Ash's dad is really Giovanni, it's unlikely that Oak and Giovanni are close friends then)

But please.. no Delia and Oak.. it's... scary...... unimaginable.... o.o

... Why couldn't Oak be his father? He is only 40 years older than Ash *Shudder* and he was quite a trainer when he was young as was shown in Pokemon4Ever...

Ash and Prof. Oak look alike because people who drew the Pokemon series designed the look of an average boy similar to Ash - I mean just at Ash's, Gary's, Tracy's and of almoust any other boy's eyes.. they can't just all be related XD XD.. some of the few male characters that have different eyes are James and Brock (though sometimes when I look at Brock I'm not sure if he even has eyes XD :laugh: but it's just a crazy thought)

And I highly doubt that the creators of the Pokemon series storyline ever considered of Ash and Gary being related.. cuz if Oak was Ash's dad then Gary would be like his unkle and that would be just too weird o_O

I do think that Ash's dad might be dead.. tho when Delia mentioned him she never said ˝Oh Ash your father would've been so proud of you!˝, which kinda conceals this whole issue into mystery.. I think the revealing of Ash's father is still yet to come..

Oh and it would be so cool if Ash's dad was some cool pokemontrainer.. (here's an idea they can use if they create a new pokemon season..^^)
 
I have proof that Ho-oh is NOT Ash's dad:

In the Johto serise, they make mention of the legend of Ho-oh. In this legend, Ho-oh existed hundereds of yours ago. If Ho-Oh was the reincarnation of Ash's dad, he would have had to have died before Ho-Oh ever existed.

Here's my theory:

Oak is Ash's GRANDPA! Yes, Oak's son is the father of Ash, which would make Ash and Gary brother's. If they're borthers, that would explain why they are such rivals. There is nothing sick or wrong about my theory.
 
You guys have some crazy speculations XD...if it ended up being as one of you said that Ash's father is the Narrator or whatever it was...and Ash's telling his son his tale..then on the grounds of who Ash's wife is, well based on shippings so far only 3 girls can be Ash's wife.

maybe we won't find out who his father is. I think the show is trying to promote single parenting... But it would be good to find out who his father is!

Ash's father is a trainer too, but I think it would be cool if Ash had to battle him in the last episode. Or a movie dedicated to it. Has Ash actually questioned his mother about his father?
