I missed the fad the first time, so like. Why not allow people to ask now?

    I'm Went, I'm a journalist, I like poison-types, I'm glad to answer questions!

What's one kind of article you'd really like to write one day but haven't gotten the opportunity to yet?

Interesting question. I think that, by now, the only thing I'm missing is a big scoop or an interview with a heavy-hitting politician. But the Brexit insanity has fulfilled all my wishes of "narrating big once-in-a-generation events" (as well as Trump's victory back then).

What is the weirdest story you've ever covered?

Oooh. Probably the time a guy called to announce he was going to sue a German company because he was apparently a descendant of a wealthy Jewish family whose paintings had been seized by the Nazis 70 years ago. It was film-worthy but it didn't really go anywhere. A workmate and I met that guy at a hotel and after hearing his story, my workmate was like "nah it sounds too fishy" and we just left and didn't file. That's the last I heard about him.

Also, in 'wtf' terms, that time the Buenos Aires state minister for Culture was investigated in case he was running a parody twitter account under the name of a comic character with plenty of trollish (but entirely in-character) comments who had been reported (by extremely sensitive people) for hate crimes because of mocking tweets. That was a few years before Trump existed, because otherwise nobody would have cared.

I am sorry if this has already been asked but I have always known/seen you as incredibly informed on what was happening on the ground in Venezuela. How did you come to become so informed?

Sources, local journalists. For a while I was the one tasked with making sense of the mess going on over there in my newspaper so I built up a group of 'informants' to know what was going on first-hand. I also read a bunch of local media. Surprisingly enough, there are still free websites surviving censorship.

So your location says you live in Madrid, how long have you lived there? Is there any part of the city you really like?

Hmm... almost 28 years, essentially, which is all of my life except for the year I spent working in Buenos Aires. It is a very nice place, if stressful at times like all major cities. I do love visiting the Retiro park and the riverside, even if I do less often than I'd like to.
