Sticker Star was an out and out failure. Super Paper Mario wasn't that great either, to be honest. The series became popular because of the turn-based gameplay in the first two.

I mean, hell, we're on a site about Pokemon. If Sun & Moon ditched the turn-based battling, people would hate it.

Unless you're one of my online friends, who will absolutely love it if Pokemon Sun and Moon ditches the turn-based gameplay, because he stinks at RPGs, and he finds the gameplay stale and repetitive.

Well, whether he stinks at RPGs is neither here nor there.

After all, if a game goes from being a Turn-Based RPG to a Strategy RPG and you're bad at RPGs? Good luck, pal.

Ugh, Pokemon Conquest...

I might buy Earthbound later, if only to see what all the fuss is about. I've never bought into the hype surrounding it, but...I'm curious. Plus I have extra cash, sort of. I just don't know if I have time to play it with Pokemon Yellow eating away at my free time whenever my 3DS comes on, haha.

....aaaand my copy of Twilight Princess HD just turned up. Damnit. The Wolf Link Amiibo is absolutely gorgeous; I almost don't want to open it, haha. The special edition guide is gold-edged as well; I was a bit worried they weren't going to continue that after Triforce Heroes had a plain hardback...guess it's reserved for mothership titles. Looks ace. Now I need to resist the urge to play this until I go down to my grandparent's...next Sunday.

Pfffft. It'll be open by the end of the day, probably. I've been itching to replay this game for MONTHS. I wonder if you can choose Hero mode right off the bat...if not, I might invest in a Ganondorf Amiibo if I can find one in my local GAME when I'm there next.

Continuing my trend on buying games from the previous years, I finally got Shadow of Mordor (at a lovely price of just 995 PHP) since I've been doing nothing but watching people kill orcs in the LOTR films, and I simply love LOTR and Middle Earth in general.

Reading de specs, its a good thing we do have a family PC that isn't even a toaster where i play all my "modern" games. And by family PC, its a PC that people use to type stuff to print while having semi-decent specs for gaming.

Shadow of Mordor? MORE LIKE SHADOW OF MURDER and I'll be murdering a bunch of orcs and uruk hai, all night looooong. Who wants to join the Uruk Hai barbecue? I'll be serving up some grilled Orcs-on-a-stick. I heard Orc meat has a lot of protean and possibly a high amount of nutritious rage. Yummy.

Earthbound is video game art without being an artsy kind of game. Its an acquired taste really.

Before i continue my desire on flooding DCC with Doom related stuff, maybe i should create a Doom thread,, Nah, screw that. I'll do that in a more appropriate time when Doom 2016 is near relase date. SO HERE'S a screenshot of me brutalizing things in Brutal Doom instead.

Spoiler:

What's up Pain Elemental?

why settle for one when i have something even more glorious

Spoiler:

I NEED MORE BLOOD. FOR MY ROCK!

...oh, it's one of THOSE. This is going to be ever so fun. Looks like it's time to open wide the doors to my mind and purge all of my thoughts. Shouldn't be too hard. Yay.

Compiling my Backloggery has been a rather depressing affair...I have almost as many unfinished games as I do completed ones. I've not added my PSP or PS4 games yet either...it's a good job I've quit trophy hunting, because I have a lot to catch up on. That said, after Nights of Azure and Trillion on the 1st of April, there isn't much coming out for me for a while that I'm aware of. Plenty of time~

Hey VG, ever wanted to play a game that's a mix of Trance, Acid Trip, Bug Blasting Supermurder, music by the Crystal Method, and shroom eating ALL AT ONCE without being sent to jail?

WELL.... WELCOME TO N2O: Nitrous Oxide aka everything i said earlier + Pest control on steroids

Possibly my most favorite game for the PSX ever (even more so than Legend of Dragoon), and this game is actually available on Steam...

Gods do exist.

For the record, I totally know what it's like to still enjoy a game but suck at it. See my K/D ratio in the COD series.

Cyber Sleuth has fantastic gameplay...it's just a shame the story is so awful. xD;
I hope you continue to have fun with it, though! And whatever you do, avoid the online multiplayer if you value your sanity...

Is it creepy if i say that Sunny Emmerich of Metal Gear is really cute? I remember playing MGRR and calling Sunny nonstop before slicing all of those poor PMC Cyborgs and Senator Armstrong to death in Pakistan.

Also, online multiplayer is fine, as long as its not in my home country. If some of you guys think that the online MP in your respective game or community is insane, i'd probably prefer that than the one I experience here in the Philippines in a day-to-day basis.

Eh, the stories in the previous Digimon games I've played (World 1, 4, Dusk and All-Star Rumble wasn't anything earth shattering, so I can forgive Cyber Sleuth for that.

Hmm? Why, what's up with the online? I don't imagine there'd be much of an online presence in Ireland unless we get hooked up to Britain's servers too.

As for Sunny, not at all! Though I'd argue she was 'cuter' in MGS4 than Revengeance, despite that being the older game and her herself being way younger, but that's just me.

It's gimmicky. About 80% of the time you'll get a communication error and disconnected without finding anyone, and that will happen repeatedly, from anywhere to instantaneously to five minutes. The other 20% you're either matched up against someone who uses UlforceVeedramon in their starting party - who guarantees a first strike - or a ridiculously overpowered cheating AI.

Seriously, there's one that has a party consisting of a Tokomon, a Pabumon and a Botamon. I struggled to beat it with my party consisting of Ultimates and Megas, because they had a crapton of health and kept spamming healing and status inflicting/protecting skills. It's broken beyond belief and they really need to fix it.

Well, if it means anything, Digimon World and Digimon Story aren't technically related. The World DS games are to Sleuth because they're actually just Digimon Story games rebranded as World for merchandising purposes.

I only found that out recently (like, last month), but it completely put into perspective why I loved Worlds 2 and 3 so much and didn't really care at all for DS. Plus Rumble was basically just a US-only cash-in that wasn't- well, really, the only title of those that actually might be representative of anything CS does right or wrong is Dusk.

I just realized this late that Steam has a "Square-Enix publisher weekend" Megasale on dem games.

I'm so tempted to get some of dat Lightning Returns... after all, I genuinely like Lightning. I like Lighting, and bolts. And she has pink hair.

Just Cause 1.. for only 57.48 PHP. Just barely a Dollar and a few cents based on the conversion rate.

I have to ask this...what is there about Lightning to like? She doesn't have a personality! That they give an actual in-game reason for this in LR had me in hysterics, because I honestly didn't notice and wouldn't have known any different if they hadn't of pointed it out. It was like Nepgear commenting on her blandness and lack of popularity in Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory; it was so unbearably meta. xD

Exactly my point good madam. I'm given the free reign on how i'd want to interpret her, in anyway i want. (and that totally does not sound creepy btw)

The blandness of her personality, her boyish face that make me feel insecure about my appearance (actually no. forget that), her weird outfits, and heck that weird name to begin with.

Speaking of the lack of personality, even the Doomguy of Doom has more personality than Lightning has. And all the Doomguy says are "ugh" "ugh" "ugh" when using "Use" on walls or "eeegugh" when getting struck.

Oh, do it. Please do it. It's $10 and a pretty solid ARPG, especially considering the circumstances. Easily my favorite of the trilogy and holy hell is it addicting when it's addicting.

Plus, compared to the other XIII ports, this one is actually good.

And yeah, Light's pretty bland. And the dialogue does not do her any favors, especially in LR (I mean, I don't usually care about preachy BS, but holy hell writers. Holy hell). I do enjoy her aesthetically, though. Especially Louise Vuitton version. God, I hope that's canon.

But- uh, yeah. For $10, LR's an absolute steal.

Hmmm...yeah, I suppose she might as well be a silent protagonist, for all the personality she displays, haha. She's not as offensive as certain other characters in the game (pretty much all of them) but...ugh, she's so BLAND. I can't say anything about her other than that!

I don't think LR was a terrible game - well, Chronostasis could have used some balance; I literally timestopped my way through the entire game and had a ton of time to kill at the end of it - but in terms of gameplay, it fares better than Crisis Core. Crisis Core was alright I suppose, but the random level-up system and the fact that late-game enemies had status-inflicting moves that meant an instant game over really screwed it up.

It's not a terribad game. But I still think of the three, XIII-2 is the best one. Serah is far more interesting than her sister, has a better voice actress, and it's the only one of the three that has a proper villain. And what a villain he is. HOT DAMN. If Vayne Solidor and Kain Highwind had an illegimate love child...

I mean, it's Laura Bailey. That's a hard act to follow.

Why do you think she was in a crystal for most of the first game? Because that's the only way they could contain her performance. Otherwise she'd just outshine everyone else. Save maybe Broy Taker.

But honestly, entertaining the thought...it would've been a lot more interesting if Serah'd been the protagonist of LR. And, hell, if they'd kept pet system you'd have a lot more reason to explore other than clearing sidequest objectives. Plus, even when Light could emote she wasn't really...all that good at it. And in this game pretty much ever cutscene has this sort of...light gasp? And man, the emotionally "gripping" scenes involving her...Oh. Those are. They exist.

I mean, granted, Serah Returns would be a pretty goofy title, but hell, if you kept literally all of the boss encounters and events exactly the same (with different pretenses and contexts, of course) and just put her in their place, they'd have had a hell of a lot more weight and she could sell you on them better too. And you could bet that people'd love to play dress-up with her. Dammit. Now I actually want this to be a thing. I would buy the hell out of a Serah Returns. Can this be a thing? Can we get, like, an alternate timeline/retcon? Please?
