I'm sure someone would be willing to mod that into [insert PC game here] if they haven't already done so somewhere...the mods online for some games are almost enough for me to seriously consider thinking about potentially considering buying a gaming laptop or something. I think I would have found Skyrim much more enjoyable with Thomas the Tank Engine dragons and Thundercats dragon shouts...

People played unmodded Skyrim?

Speaking of PC, Shinovi Versus is out at a solid 60FPS and apparently a quality port. On PC, I mean. Will have to give that one a poke down the line.

Dunno if I'd say D.Va's best Blizzard girl, though, but her fanart's pretty solid.

I still haven't played the first Senran Kagura game, even though I got it in a PSN sale about a year ago now...derp. I suppose I have to be in the right mood for that much...uh, plot. I was thinking about picking up Estival Versus for PS4 somewhen if only to have more games for the console, though. PS4 is still infuriatingly sparse with titles right now; it's frustrating that I can't really urge anyone to buy one with such a weak library.

The urge to pick FFXIV back up again is overwhelming sometimes...even if it'd take all day to download the 50GB+ install files again.

I'm kind of afraid if I play Senran Kagura in public, someone will call the FBI.

Not enough lolis there. No problem there.

Not to mention Neo. Even if you could persuade someone to buy that dust collector, they would immediately be angry because something stronger would already be out.

I was expecting people to be more vocal about that gritty Megaman reimagining but i guess we have all accepted that Megaman has already hit the grave that it will be of no use to talk about it so i understand xD

and Oniichanbara Z2 is coming out in Steam soon. Oh wait

<---Uses the PS4 millions of times more than the Wii U.

Dangerous Golf comes out tomorrow. Gonna pick it up on the PS4 for a Summer game.

I use my PS4 a lot more than I do my Wii U - I've probably had a cumulative 200 hours playtime out of it, and a lot more on my PS4 already thanks to my insane quest to plat FFXIV - but there just aren't enough titles coming out to look forward to. Not for me, at least. I realise these things are all down to your personal preference, but for someone of my preferences, the PS4 has a very disappointing and weak library. It'd be so easy to change that by sticking some PS2 games on the store too, which is what makes it all the more frustrating. Just give me SOMETHING to do whilst I wait for my next game, please!

I've definitely used my 3DS the most these past couple of years. I still have yet to invest in a PS4, but I'm pretty content with 3DS and PC games right now.

To me, its not all about how many times you are playing with it, but its all about how long you're playing with it.

I mean, i can go for a couple of quickies but I'll always enjoy it when I'm able to play all day and all night long if I'm given the chance to do so. I don't want to like overblow my game consoles and my computer, but if i'd really want to, I can go all the way till Sunday but let my gaming things be at rest if ever i went super crazy.

The value of video games is actually a topic I was going to start a thread on in the near future, but since you bring it up now I'll give an abridged (yes, really) version of my thoughts on that particular landmine:

Value for money for me depends on the game. I want one of two things: a long, involving play session, or something I can keep coming back to. Extreme examples at each end of the spectrum would be Xenoblade for the former and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for the latter. Replaying games isn't something I do very often because of backlog issues - every two/three years at best - so if it's a JRPG I want it to be as good as possible, and part of that IS the playtime, because it reflects the amount of content in the game...obviously, the more good content, the longer you play the game. But for the pick-up-and-go stuff, I just want it to be entertaining. I actually picked up Theatrhythm again last night for something to do and, whilst I sucked balls (my skills, they have left me! D:) I had a lot of fun with it.

On a random note, I'm kicking off a new(ish) event starting Monday, so please be excited.

I was just busy doing innuendos like i always do when it comes to how everyone's treating their game consoles and machines but then i was like.. oh wait.

I'd already have my own abriged answer to that which is basically:

When it comes single player-story driven games, I don't like immediately finishing them within the day or week or so of buying them since I don't want to feel ripped off. I actually spend weeks to even a few months trying to get everything done and i do so by playing some other game or logging in to some Multiplayer outlet. Heck, I still remember playing Alpha Sapphire in like more than 100++ hours where at around above 60++ hours of game time, I still didn't take on the Elite Four and get to the Delta Episode. I was that busy doing all of the side things and explorations, while leveling a few monsters.

We've already had quite an issue with some games where some of them can be completed within a few hours like 8-9 hours. I'm looking at you MGRR, which i completed its Normal Difficulty in less than 8 hours and i was like.. was that it!? Then again, I got MGRR for cheap and i could always play the game again and try going into that Hard mode, but everyone knows that MGRR's VERY FIRST STAGE on harder difficulties are notorious for being extremely difficult compared to when you get your cyborg body...

As far as length goes, if I pay more than $20 for a game, it either a) be good enough for me to want to replay it countless times or b) be a fantastic adventure that will keep me hooked for at least 60+ hours. Then again, if I had paid a dollar for every hour I had put into my current Animal Crossing town, I'd be broker than broke.

The big thing is, as far as monetary value goes, I usually can't justify spending full price (typically $60) anymore. Honestly, I don't like spending more than $10 on a game anymore. The only game I've bought new in the past six months has been Pokken Tournament, and I absolutely love that game, but at the same time, my town has an old-fashioned video store (yes, like a Blockbuster) and they're selling PS2 games for $1.99 each. Put simply, I feel I got more bang for my buck on the copy of Final Fantasy XII I got there than the brand new copy of Pokken Tournament. Then again, these are two very different games that are three console generations apart. But also, from my standpoint as a collector, do I feel like I'm truly getting that much more by buying the "latest and greatest" AAA games for $60 when I could be getting potentially 30 games for an older console for the same price (which I could then, depending on the value of these games, use as trade bait for possibly even more valuable games). More likely than not though, I'm probably just rambling at this point because its past 2 am here and I've been up for much too long so...yeah.

I like to take at least a week or two to finish games that first time through if I get really into them, otherwise I do feel pretty cheated...that was part of the reason I went for trophies last year; it fleshed the games out. That said, Tales from the Borderlands took me five days to platinum, and all I felt at the end of it was regret that it couldn't have gone on longer...but I didn't feel cheated. I'd had a ridiculous amount of fun with it even though it was an episodic, story-driven title where all you do is make a couple of choices and press a few buttons, making it only slightly more interactive than Final Fantasy XIII.

I think quality is more important than quality, but I suppose the older we get the more the latter offsets or becomes a part of the former. Stuff isn't as enchanting or enriching as it used to be unless it's something REALLY special, so we need to pad out our playtime or games need to be padded out with extras...like trophies and achievements, which were never needed prior to the last generation.

...and yes, pricing is a HUGE part of it. I refuse to pay full RRP for titles, even titles I really want. Even though I buy most of the games I want immediately, I get them online for cheaper prices, and that's only to avoid paying a more hefty price later. The most I'll spend on a standard edition of a game these days is £40, and that I will do with reluctance.

Its funny for me to say this but Dynasty Warriors 8 + Xtreme Legends (or for those with their PS4s and on PC, DW8: XL Complete Edition) i feel like is one of those DW games that i feel that they got it right when it comes to making your moneys worth.

I remember back in the older DW titles that most of the musou mode/campaigns of each faction or individual character only lasted for a few hours or even less depending on what difficulty setting you were playing on. Most of the length in a typical DW campaign was padded with you either being undergeared or underleveled when getting into the later battles, thus there is a need to grind by playing Free Mode. However, in DW8, while there can still be the case of being underleveled or undergeared in going to the next few stages, the game does help the player by auto-leveling characters who are needed to play on said particular stage, thus you won't be tackling a battle at level 1 but instead you have that needed character scaled already at the minimum level for that particular stage. And to cut things short from how DW8 works and more into its musou mode, each faction has DOZENS of stages in their respective campaigns, and counting XL with Lu Bu's own musou mode, you have 4 Factions to play with, and each faction's story mode has dozens of levels with such grand scale as well, and it can basically take anyone playing at an average pace hours and hours to just even get to half of each faction's musou mode. It also helps that you can even replay Musou mode levels in DW8's story mode so that in case you missed an important event, you can do so and open up an alternative story mode path for said faction, thus adding even more things to do. And that's just the Musou/Story mode.

There's also Ambition mode which is basically some content outside story mode, and its really fun, but most of the battles in Ambition mode are short scale skirmishes, very much the opposite of the bodycount fiestas that you can easily do in most of DW8's levels. The best part is that whatever that is unlocked or acquired in Ambition mode will also carry over to Musou and Free mode, such as weapons, bodyguards, forged weapons, and whatnot.

TLDR, Dynasty Warriors 8 + Xtreme Legends (or those who really were efficient, DW8XL: Complete edition on PC and PS4) is worth all the pennies and dimes, especially if one has been playing the whole DW or warriors series in almost in its entirety.

Honestly, if you want value for money from hack-and-slash titles like that and aren't keen on the themed spinoffs - Gundam, Hyrule Warriors, Dragon Quest Heroes, etc - I'd point you towards Samurai Warriors before Dynasty Warriors any day. The cast is a lot more diverse and interesting, the story is a little more well-presented, and I much prefer the more tactical gameplay of the SW titles, too. There's nothing wrong with Dynasty Warriors, but...Samurai Warriors is better.

That said, I've not played Dynasty Warriors 8 on PS4 yet. But I've had a lot more fun on Samurai Warriors 4 than I have any Dynasty Warriors title to date. Although Hyrule Warriors Legends' bizarre cast and strangely addicting base-capturing missions - not to mention the challenge maps - is probably the definitive Warriors experience right now in my opinion. Much as I like blowing up robots in Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Reborn was such a disappointment...

I need to buy the Arslan Warriors game somewhen. When I've watched the anime, perhaps...and we need a Warriors thread >.>

Random pic for the day:
[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)

Because Aya is Aya and I'm about to play some Parasite Eve 1

Regarding a Warriors' thread, Muwahahahahahaha I was planning on doing that. Imma need to borrow dedenne's format again when i do so or some club owner's own format. It will be like some sort of club where each member would have to lock in their respective faction in order to get their own emblem, kinda like Koeiwarriors' forums (Sorta, but its like minimized). And WEI FOREVER! AMBITION! STRENGTH! REASON! AND MORE AMBITION!

I need to get to Wei's Hypothetical path right now since i messed up in the earlier stages thus I'm forced to go to their historical path... Wei should conquer China, that's a given. oVo

Dynasty Warriors 7 was definitely a step in the right direction, and Dynasty Warriors 8 perfected it and fixed everything 7 got wrong (like that leveling system). It's actually nice that for once, you can actually enjoy the story properly, instead of having the old arcade take on it. I've yet to play Samurai Warriors past 2 though, but I might get to 4 soon, now that I finally own a PS3. I did play bits of 4-II on PC but didn't like it. When it comes to the "main" warriors games, I might like Warriors Orochi the most since it pretty much combines the best of both games. And the third one had Ryu Hayabusa and other guests, which was awesome.

I played most of DW spin offs and really loved Ken's Rage 1 and Gundam 2, those are games where you'd most likely get your money's worth. Arslan was a bit disappointing that it didn't have a random mission/dream kind of mode, so once you're done with the story all you can do is play Free mode. One Piece Warriors 3 was pretty fun I guess, although quite easy even for the DW standards, and I sadly played the PC version that looked like the Vita version.
