The twist: he becomes his own paternal grandfather after his actual grandfather is accidentally shot saving his life when he first travels back in time.

There's an even bigger twist people. Ya'll aren't getting the picture.

Spoiler:

You'll never know. If it has fatality-like takedowns like in Doom 4 or Brutal Doom, then I'd play the crap out of Bloodlines. Like i wanna see the Bloodlines Guy just grab an unlucky nazi and rip his black anti-semetic heart out and shove it down his Nazi throat. Or or or, i wanna see Bloodlines Guy grab an Iraqi in the Gulf War and repeatedly knee his Iraqi face until it explodes. Then Bloodlines Guy is going to fight more terrorists by grabbing them by the mouth and shoving their suicide bombs down their own stomachs and throw them like a bunch of human hand grenades. I wanna see Bloodlines Guy give all of MURICA's enemies the middle finger and tell us ladies and gentle-grunts what it is to be a REEL MURICAN.

Or he's just going to be a complete wuss and only equip two weapons of each kind, like a Primary weapon and a Secondaary, or two primary weapons at the cost of the handy side arm. Ya know, like a non-manly man...

I just realized, its a CoD Game. We wont be calling him the "Bloodlines Guy" then since he'll be given some generic "MURICAN soldier name out of de random name generator". Also, the FPS-Fatalities are definitely out of the picture now. Now i can be just a sad Doomguy/XinZhao/Raiden/LuLingqi. :(((((((((

Speaking of First Person Shooters that make fun out of the Modern FPS Flavor, you guys should try playing some Bulletstorm. That game is a meta-example of the whole "Old School FPS vs Current Gen FPS" kind of thing if you interpret it correctly.

Bulletstorm intrigued me due to over-the-top brutality and STEVE BLUM, but somehow I never got around to playing it much.

For a 5 year old game, its still worth the shot. I love how it looks and plays like the typical modern shooter but with elements like the skillshot system to make it stand out. Also the meta-take thats to Military shooters really help. Also Steve Blum. I knew that voice sounded so familiar.. heck i remember the Bulletstorm Guy having a "Wolverine Hairdo" as well, and for a second i was about to make fun of his voice for sounding so EDGY but then i quickly took it back since you mentioned it.

Bulletstorm is 5 years old already? Time sure flies; I can remember seeing it in the shops when it was first released =/

Got Bulletstorm just so I could get into the Gears 3 beta early.

I'm just gunna let this quickly out of the way but...

Spoiler:

Ok, my inner fan-androgynous-split-gender-personality-self can calm down now.

Speaking of Gears... i wonder how Gears 4 will go out especially since Microsoft already bought out the franchise rights from Epic Games. I remember playing Gears 1 on the PC, which i found pretty cool at the time. Speaking of Gears... hmmm Brutal Gears of War should be a thing... a violent version of Gears of War... (:

Also, i was reading an article about Brutal Doom and here's something i found very interesting from the maker of BD himself:

"Brutal Doom is not Brutal because when you shoot an enemy there is a lot of blood," SGtMarkIV told me. "Brutal Doom is Brutal because when you fire a shotgun into an enemy's face, you can feel like your chest is being punched as the recoil shakes the camera, the loud, sharp and metallic sound of the blast rips through your ears, and behind the large muzzle flash, you see the enemy's head being ripped open, with pieces of grey matter, flesh, skull, eyeballs, and teeth being launched all around the room and sticking on the walls and ceiling."

reading this awesome quote makes me think of talking about the importance of "Feedback" or in layman's terms "FEELING THE TWHOMP" in playing games. That feeling of "weight" and "impact"...

I wish One Finger Death Punch was on sale in Steam today as i think I'll be needing an alternative form of stress relief because of an academic requirement. And no its not a game based out of One punch man, its way better.
Well, true. And it's fantastic. One sec.

There you can buy it for about half a dollar. Just be sure to turn off the G2A shield and then, at check out, BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE G2A SHIELD!

Aaaaand you're fine.

...well, it's not like Microsoft were ever serious competition for Sony anyway; it's just another nail in a very well-studded coffin.

I wouldn't actually be all that surprised if the team behind Lionhead didn't start a Kickstarter project in the near future. It seems like the thing to do these days when corporations start acting like morons.

They were, this generation is the only one so far where there's really been no contest. And, likely, it's not really an indicator of how things will be in the future.

And that's no problem, either. I like this actually. Failure is a good slap in the face to do better, and Microsoft has little reason to stop trying. Same with Nintendo, for that matter. Do bad so you can do good rather than playing the mediocre game to continue making the same mistake. "Fail faster" has never been so relevant.

That's a tad too optimistic for me...it's more "find mediocre faster" in today's industry. Why put effort into it when it'll still get high scores and sell millions if you just cutpaste last year's model with some minor aesthetic differences?

This is especially true in the case of Nintendo, who have had an infuriating "good enough" policy for the majority of their major franchises for a long time now. Nintendo seem to think they perfect the formula with the first game and have no motivation whatsoever to improve when all it takes is a brand name for their games to sell astronomical numbers.

...alright, maybe that's a tad too cynical for most people, haha. But until I see some serious changes in franchises, I stand by my opinion.

As someone who got a PS4 first, and then an XBOX One, I'm glad the XBOX One is "losing", as it is causing Microsoft to give us more cool stuff.

Whereas Sony is only just now allowing us to appear offline.
