6th Gen Battle Tower or Battle Frontier?

I'm praying for the battle frontier. The battle tower is boring.

I'm confident that there will be a Battle Frontier present. It was a huge part of what made Emerald memorable and worth buying over Ruby and Sapphire. The brains were also iconic in their own rite and removing it just wouldn't make sense. Perhaps there could be some changes, but it'll make a return, I'm sure.

Can't believe this thread even exists. No contest I want and expect to see the Hoenn Battle Frontier in some form. Now the question should be if 'Z' will adapt this Battle Frontier like how HGSS had a copy and paste of Platinum's or have one similar to it.

I mean, what they did with HGSS was add some great elements of Crystal to improve the experience and gameplay. Why would they not do that here? Especially since Battle Frontier was so great that they put it in subsequent games.

Refresh my memory please...did the Emerald Frontier have a standard Battle Tower as well as all the other Facilities? If that's the case I definitely want to see it return; I never owned my own copy of Emerald so I would love to see what everyone else got to enjoy haha!

I swear if they don't bring the Battle Pike back with Lucy as its Brain I will be very upset.
I just hope they make in battle arenas a bit more exciting and prettier than they were in Emerald. They were mighty bland, tbh.

Most in battle arenas have been bland thus far. Though I too hope they make it look nice. I hope that the Battle tower looks like a true 100 floor building.

The Battle Arena was a cool concept, I'd forgotten about that one.

As for making The Battle Tower realistic, some sort of full-building view the first time you enter each facility would be really chill. The Battle Palace looked really cool last time and it would've been awesome to be able to see all of it. 3D versions of everything... I shouldn't get ahead of myself ;__;

So Ruby and Sapphire had the standard Battle Tower - Templated from Crystal version, it was made much easier, but had incentive behind it: Adding an additional star to the trainer card if you got 100 straight wins. However, Emerald mixed it up a bit and started the Battle Frontier - a series of buildings with different challenges (Battle Pike, Pyramid, etc etc) that all required different techniques to get medals at 21 and 49 wins.

Do you think ORAS will bring back the Frontier, which hasn't been included in any Pokemon game since HGSS, or will they go back to their roots and only have the Battle Tower?

I think a Battle Frontier will definitely return; otherwise, we'll be hearing the complaints of "no post-game" yet again like XY has been burdened with. XY's Battle Maison (the "Kalos Battle Tower", for all intents and purposes) actually has "facility leaders" and more battle modes than the Ruby/Sapphire Battle Tower.. Kalos also had another battle facility (the Battle Chateau, which can arguably be seen as a 'second' battle facility of sorts) and people still complained, so "Battle Tower only" isn't going to cut it these days, I'm afraid. And Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver had a (copied from Sinnoh) Battle Frontier, so Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire will have to at least match that feat to be perceived as 'good' remakes.

I didn't think all of them were that bland! D: The Battle Dome even gave you a spotlight stage and audience and confetti (with the audience increasing in number accordingly as you advance in rounds to the final battle)! The Battle Arena also looked like a neat dojo-esque area, with the Battle Palace containing a serene "nature" indoors environment (it had regular grass, unreachable "wild Pokemon" tall grass, and some little bodies of water) that was a fresh change of pace from the standard indoor battlefields. The Battle Pike's areas may feel a bit monotonous... The Battle Pyramid Frontier Brain battlefield was nice, at least, since it was at the peak of the whole place next to a sunset! In any case, I have a feeling that the battlefields (the overworld perspective and the during-battle perspective) will look a lot more vibrant and dynamic like the ones from XY.

Do you mean like "eyecatches" for each building or something different..? :o As for the Hoenn Battle Tower, I hope that it looks like the presentation from Pokemon Destiny Deoxys (which the Battle Dome kind of represents a bit more).. An energetic audience clamoring for battle; elevators with soothing yet menacing in coloration, adorned with expansive windows that capture gorgeous scenery as the combatants ascend to the battlefield; and a flying (via hovercraft) announcer dude with a microphone! XD

Of course the Battle Frontier, because that was pretty much the only thing to do in Hoenn after beating the game. This, combined with the Contest revamp, and Secret Bases, more diveable areas, etc. would allow much more diversity in the game.

Trust me you'll like the Battle Frontier. Also the tower gives nostalgia despite the other buildings too.

Wasn't there something similar to the Battle Frontier in Diamond and Pearl's postgame? I wasn't really a fan of that.

Well, Platinum's postgame, yeah. It had the ones with Caitlin/Darach, Argenta, Dahlia, Palmer, etc. I don't remember the facility names well, but it wasn't all that great, honestly.

I enjoyed it but it was nothing compared to Emerald's.

No that's not what I was talking about. Its near the Resort Area if I'm remembering correctly and it was replaced by the Battle Frontier in Platinum. Can't remember what it was called though.
