I think it is about time we had a Battlefield thread considering the hype surrounding it. It is already being hailed as the 'CoD killer' so you could forgive people for thinking this could be pretty good. The Frostbite 2.0 engine makes the game look a lot better than previous outings and is certainly ahead in comparison to current Call of Duty games and, unless IW and the other developers of Modern Warfare 3 have something special up their sleeve, I have the feeling Battlefield will be the winner here. EA are certainly putting a lot of money into winning this little battle.

Anyway the big questions,

Are you getting it?
Will this be the game that overtakes Call Of Duty?

Jesus Christ I so much wish I have decent PC and money to buy that game! I think this game will definitely overcome CoD... IMO the last CoD game was just a failure, not as good as MW2 for me. Also played the last Battlefield game, shame I couldn't play it online (something wasn't working properly). Watched gameplay and I say it's a good position.

I think that if there ever was going to be a game that overcame Call of Duty, it would be this one. Considering this is the perfect time to do such a thing, with the, more or less, now average Infinity Ward releasing their game and the people losing hope in them, I'd say it's perfect timing. At heart, I still love Call of Duty, and I'm not sure Battlefield will ever replace that. That being said though, Battlefield games are still pretty great and this one seems like no exception. The graphics are absolutely amazing and put CoD to shame in that area. Definitely looking forward to play this when it releases.

I've had to have watched that trailer more times than I can count, and it still amazes me how good it looks. I admit, I was always quite a large fan of COD and never batted an eye towards the Battlefield series, but this changes that. Unless Modern Warfare 3 can bring something new to prevent the COD series from getting even staler than it is, I definitely see Battlefield 3 surpassing it by a long shot.
