My favorite is FF7 be cause that was the first one I played and thats I became hooked on FF.I like FF9 to.

Personally I'm offended that Final fantasy Crystal Chronicles isn't on the list. :\

Yeah, It's coming for the DS, so I would'a voted for the DS version, but I said X.

If CC on the DS had the summons (Aeons) from FFX, then I'd vote that with whatever I could!

(I'm just plain Addicted to Bahamut and Ifrit from X!)

I never played seven, so how would I know?

CC was iffy, IMO. It was so poorly implemented. With 4 friends it can be kind of fun, but no space for packratting in a game that encourages it so, classes that aren't very defined, no reason to really obtain the best equips, not much to do even in multi when you've finished…

Everyone knows that Final Fantasy VII is the best game ...possibly ever made... but atleast is the best game from the FF series. The characters, the story, the graphics (when it came out) and other important stuff! ('cause I know there's a lot more of important things). So FF7 is the best game from the FF series!!.

Well I've played the majority of them (1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,10-2) - My top five have to be :

(1) FF7 - The first FF game I ever played
(2) FF8 - My favorite overall
(3) FF9 - Like the storyline
(4) FFX-2 - Interesting storyline , replay value
(5) FFX - Interesting leveling system

My most favorite was Final Fantasy 7 turning point for Squares evolution of Graphics. For Ps1 they are
FF7
FF tactics
FF9
FF8 just the cutscenes maybe?

PS2 is
FFX
FFX1 and expansion
FFX-2 I liked the story of Shuyin and Lenne

GBA
FF Tactics Advance tho the judge cards made it bad

SNES
FF Mystic Quest
Bahamut Lagoon

hopefully ill also love FF12 when it comes out.

FFVII was the best in terms of concepts. It was the first Final Fantasy game where one of your characters died and didn't come back. That alone was very controversal and spawned the famous 'Aeris Sidequest' rumor, which today there are still people that believe it to be true, even moreso than some religions!

However, the game was ridiculously, horribly translated. There were lines of text that literally said the opposite of what they actually were trying to say in the original version of the game. It was so bad that because of it, many people didn't understand the ending.

Even Game Informer had no clue what the ending meant. They pretended to, but in reality, they had no freaking idea what they were talking about and hid that fact with references to different parts of the game, many of which weren't even in the game. I won't go into what the ending meant for the sake of avoiding spoilers, but let's say it has a very literal meaning. What you see is what happened.

Spoiler (kind of):

(They didn't die. It's all very literal in its meaning.)

Yeah, the translation is pretty dire in parts. One of the reasons why I maintain the game should be re-translated and released as part of the FFVII compilation.

Playble characters had died in the series before VII. It's just that they never envoked the same reaction as Aeries' death did.

[Spoilers if you haven't played the earlier games]

Final Fantasy II has numerous character deaths (Minwu/Mindu, Josef, Gareth/Ricard). Tellah is killed-off in FFIV, and in FFV Galuf bites the dust about 3/4 of the way through the game. That came as a big shock to me at least. :bandit:

22 days old...meh, I think that counts as reviving...

You guys can't post in really old threads, mmkay?
