Best LOTR Character.

Who would you say is the best Lord of the Rings character? I'd say Eowyn (teehee).

Obviously Gandalf. Who doesn't want to have magical powers, and not be forced to have big spikey ears and live in Rivendale... that place is too cutesy. ^_^ Ugh. XD

And where, might I ask, is Smeagol? In short, Smeagol is the most complex of any character in Lord of the Rings. His internal struggle is one of infathomable proportions, his evil self literally fighting for control with his good self, and all over a ring which drove him to murder and madness...he's truly an amazing character, and definitely not one to be overlooked in this poll.

Treebeard deserves an honorable mention too XP

Just face it without Sam the story wouldn't have been complete...(meaning that it would have worse if it were anyone but him) Sam is the best supporting character ever! Face it hes the least queerest among the hobbits. However thats not saying a great deal cause Mary and Pipen(forget there real names)were great characters as well.

Smeagol is one of the best characters, in my opinion! Too bad he's not on the list.

But if I have to pick off the list, I pick either Aragorn, Boromir (which I don't think is on the list, also) or Legolas. They are awesome when fighting. Legolas is always sliding down something and shooting his arrows at the same time XD It was really awesome when he was sliding down those stairs on the shield at Helms deep. Another one of his awesome moves was in the first movie, when he grabed an arrow, put it through an Orc's head, pulled it out, and shot it at another one.

I don't even know where to start about Aragorn's fighting XD.

Boromir's last fight was very touching and started getting teary eyed in the movies from when he was getting hit with arrows, but still got up to fight some more.

So, Boromir is the best character, in my opinion. After all the things her did (betraying Frodo by trying to take the ring from him) he still got up and tried to defend for Frodo

I don't know what everyone sees in Legolas. I know everyone I know has a crush on him, but...

Boromir is my favourite character, and the one I think is the best. :D Knowing his tragic past, and what happened to his family, gave reasons for him acting like he did...his father was so imposing on him, and he was really only acting on his behalf.

But the fact that he sacrificed himself in the end because he realised his mistakes, and that he gave his own life in that he might save two others...that was truly heroic. :)

Tom Bombadil, the forgotten character. He was just so freaking cool, I mean the way he carried himself was superb. Anyhow beyond poor forgotten tom, I would have to go with smeagol/gollum cool character littered with internal conflict. Quite possibly the character with the most depth in the series, and at times the hardest to comprehend.

I vote Legolas! I can't help it, Elves have always kind of facinated me. And, he's just so cool!

I like Legolas the best! He's just such an awesome fighter; my brother and I were amazed when he took down that elephant creature. Second would be either Eowyn or Aragorn. ^_^; All of the characters in Lord of the Rings are interesting, though!
