[Best Veteran March/May 2011] A new professor in town - Kanto Adventure PG13

"Yes! We did it we caught...." Kairi started to say when she coughed up a lot of blood and passed out,"Pikapi!" Pikachu ran up to her. Butterfree and Gyarados also gave out cries as they ran up to Kairi. Gyarados was holding her as Pikachu and Butterfree tried to wake her. Pikachu then took out Kairi's Pokegear and handed it to Sean,"Pikapi!" He said trying to tell him to call 911.
 
Alright, kiddies, I've watched this for about long enough.

FlareonFan, you are severely below minimum. As in, not even halfway there. Shape it up. You can do better than that, seriously. Konekodemon, likewise. Also, slls81, could you please try not to do the little IC bits? I get why they're there, but it's technically breaking the minimum rule as well. People could just add the whole 'yay, it's caught' IC part themselves and get some emergency relief on the length problem while they're at it. 'Kay?


As for you peeps as a group...seeing as how you saw fit to just let the clearly sub-length posting go on without as much as a remark about it (let alone actually trying to help these two get back into the program).

Cornered

"How much further?" Rini asked, as she dodged around a boulder.

"Nearly there." Davis responded in a monotone.

"Hmm...." Rini looked put out. Davis hadn't talked to her, nor looked at her for nearly an hour now as he led her through the cave. "Are you mad at me or something?" she finally asked.

Davis stopped and she almost plowed into his back.

"Hey! What's with stopping all of a sudden like that?" Rini snapped.

"I'm sorry." Davis turned to face her. He held a pokeball in one hand, and a doubtful expression on his face. "I wish things had been different. In another time we could have even been friends."

Rini took a step back, holding up her hands. "What are you saying Davis. We are friends...... aren't we?"

"No.... This isn't personal. It's business." Davis suddenly released a fox like pokemon, with a long fluffy tail, a main of fluffy fur around his neck, and a little fluff of fur on his head.

"Flare flare."

"What's that?" Rini pulled out her pokedex.

"Flareon. The fire pokemon and an evolved form of Eevee. This pokemon can shoot flames reaching 1000 degrees fron it's mouth. Flareon is evolved using a fire stone."

"Wow." Rini looked impressed. "Here take care of Pichu ok?" she shoved the still sleeping pokemon at pidgey.

Pidgey nodded and chirped.

Rini thought over her choices. Both Butterfree and Oddish were out. Both were weak against fire, and she needed Pidgey to look after Pichu. That only left..... "Go Sandshrew!"

"Shrew sandshrew!" Sandshrew glanced back at Rini with a sappy expression and she groaned in annoyance.

"A..... Sandshrew?" Davis looked surprised, then laughed. "How are you going to fight me with that?"

"I don't really want to fight you, and I have no idea what this is about." Rini looked aprehensive. "But don't doubt my pokemon like that."

"Your kidding me." Davis looked surprised. "You haven't figured it out yet?"

"Flare?" Flareon agreed.

"What? That your really weird?"

Davis almost fell over. He stormed over to her and took Rini's hand placing it on his chest. "What does this mean to you?"

Rini blushed tomato red. "That ummmm...... you work out quite a bit."

"Huh?" it was Davis's turn to look confused. Then his eyes snapped open in realization, and he blushed slightly. "I'm talking about the R."

"Oh..... middle name maybe?" Rini couldn't manage to look at him now, and felt really stupid.

Davis turned, dropping her arm and walked back. "It's for Team Rocket. Flareon attack!"

"Wait!" Rini gasped.

"Flare!"

@Konekodemon & FlareonFan - please read the post made by Alter Ego above and read the forum rules like i asked you to a month ago.

@Rii - Rii was a little slow on the uptake there... now she's in a it of trouble isn't she

Alter Ego sorry about the IC bits, I will take them out or lengthen them out from now on. In fairness I have posted warnings on this before i.e. I posted this on the 8th december

"Vine Whip!" Warren shouted, grinning as Bellsprout struck the purple snake. The Ekans slid back a little, but it was still ready to fight. Leaping forwards, it opened its mouth wide and clamped its jaws around Bellsprout's head. The plant fell to its knees, but Warren smiled.
"Sleep powder!" he shouted and Bellsprout exhaled a huge cloud of violet powder straight down Ekans's throat. The snake's eyes shot open, then it slowly released Bellsprout and fell to the ground asleep. One Vine Whip later and it was tied around a tree branch, still snoring like a bear.
"I think that's a win!" Warren gloated, "That Sleep powder's looking good, eh, Bellsprout!" Bellsprout nodded and Warren grinned.
"Oh really," came a voice from behind him, "You don't think that's enough to beat Lt. Surge do you?" Warren recognised the irritating whine immediately.
"Do you always sneak up on people before saying anything, Guy?" he called, "Or do you occasionally actually look at people?"
"Talk, talk, talk," Guy yawned, "That's all you ever do." With a flourish, he produced a Pokeball. "I challenge you to a battle...with extra high stakes."
"What kind of stakes?"
"If you win, you keep my Pokémon. If I win, I keep yours. How about it?" Warren frowned.
"Pokemon aren't just objects to be gambled away. You can't be serious." Guy turned, grinning.
"Well, if you're chicken..." Guy had got Warren's weak spot and he knew it - his ego.
"Warren looked at Guy, fire burning in his eyes.
"You're on!"

sigh, i knew Warren's ego would come back to bite him eventually... what do you mean it already has?

Sean could not stand and watch Kairi cough up much more blood, she looked in terrifying pain. Sean just wanted to help her in any sort of way, while Pikachu was standing right next to him, shaking her phone, squeaking, trying to persuade Sean to phone the ambulance before anything else were to happen. This wan't much about Horsea right now, it was about Kairi, and her recovering. He grabbed the phone off Pikachu, with weakness, hoping that Kairi would be alright before the ambulance came for her. Sean dialed the number, 911, and pushed the phone button. The dials on the phone went one by one, ringing into Sean's ear. Before someone came to answer the call, Sean went over to Kairi and went over to her ear, while she was panting over and over. "Just relax, Kairi. That Staryu didn't get you enough to completely take you out. Once the ambulance gets here, you'll be completely safe. Please, hang in there for now." he persuaded her to stay in good shape, just as the phone had been answered by an operator. ​

"Hello. This is 911. Please name your service required." she gave the instruction, as he followed, "Ambulance. Please, I need you to get here as-" he got interupted by the operator once more, "Slow down please. I need to take your details first. Now, tell me where you are, then we can find where you are." she instruced yet again, with Sean trying to calm down, sighing, "Vermilion City Beach. There has been an attack by a wild Staryu onto my friend, she is coughing up blood and has passed out. I am not sure what to do, but all her Pokemon are out and they have tried to protect her. I need an ambulance, right away before it's too late!" Sean panicked at the last bit that he said, the 'too late' part. "Alright. I've got it all booked now. Please do not move from where you are, not even if you have to, or else we can not find or help you at all. Your ambulance is on the way, it should take about 3-5 minutes." the operator then hung up on him, leaving Sean to wait with Kairi and her desperate Pokemon. ​

Sean slid the phone in Kairi's pocket, and put his head next to her eyes, which were tight shut. Sean could not bare to wait, and just tried to focus on the good times he's had with her, when he met up with her at Viridian Forest, the time where they both battled their rivals, the time they got rid of the Team Rocket grunts. Sean looked at all of Kairi's Pokemon, all aligned, with sad faces on them. Each one of them was looking down to her, hoping she would be alright and continue their journey together, and if not, then who knows what could happen to them. One of the Pokemon, though, was even more desperate and distraught than the others, Togepi. Togepi was sobbing right on her neck, wanting Kairi's protection, but Sean tried to hold Togepi with his trembling fingers. "Oh no, I can't imagine life without Kairi for all of her Pokemon. Pikachu, Togepi, Gyarados, every one of them. Come on, I know you can make it Kairi. We all know. You have to pull through for us!" he forced tears to stay into his eyes, as the siren came into the vicinity. ​

"Thank goodness! It's here! Come on, Kairi. These guys will take good care of you. I just know with the help of the hospital you'll be totally fine." the ambulance turned up at the Beach enterance, as no vehicles were allowed on the sand. Two men came out of the large van, carrying a long metal tray, which Sean was suspecting Kairi would be kept on. They made their way through the brown sand, and looked down to Sean, "Excuse me, son. Is this the casualty?" Sean nodded as he pointed his trembling finger at Kairi. The men picked her up, with her legs being shaken with the shoes nearly slipping off. "We might need you to come with us. All the Pokemon must also be kept inside their PokeBalls. Do you know where they are?" they asked him, with all the Pokemon staring at him, taking one last look at Kairi. "They're in her pocket. The Pikachu and Togepi do not stay in PokeBalls though, so I'll take them." the two men reached into her pocket, giving them to Sean. "Alright guys. Kairi will be safe. Just remember that." all the Pokemon were sad to go back in; Gyarados, Butterfree, Nidoran and Jigglypuff. ​

Sean, Pikachu and Togepi followed the men over to the large ambulance. They placed the tray onto the top of the van, while showing Sean the seat. He jumped into the back of the van, while holding Togepi and Pikachu crawling in right beside him. The van doors shut, leaving Sean, Togepi and Pikachu on the soft seats. They all stared at the tray on the shelf of the van, holding Kairi up. Her face was white, with her eyes sealed, with her mouth closed. Her arms were aside her ribs, no movement in them at all, same as her legs, flat on the shelf. The van then started moving.​

(I really do hope that's long enough now, as I don't want to violate the rules at all, and I don't want to lose this rpg at all cuz if it went then I'd lose Sean and losing Sean is like losing a family member to me now...)​

Nidoran?

James picked up his Vulpix and carefully placed her inside his backpack, and walked out of the Trainer House. He had to find out where Route 2 is then go there. James saw a man dressed in Red and walked up to him in attempt to find out where Route 2 is.​

" Hey, excuse me do you know the way to Route 2 ". James asked the man in Red.​

" What, oh Route 2 it's that way ". Said the man pointing towards the east.​

" Thanks alot mister I'm very grateful ". James started to walk away.​

" Yeah you better be grateful ". The man muttered under his breath.​

" What was that ". James twisted around to face the man as he said this.​

" Oh nothing now run along little kiddie ". James ignored the final comment and walked away from the man in a strop, James moved towards the East, he kept going then stopped when he saw a sign that read: Route 2. The way to Viridian Forest. James turned around to look at his Vulpix.​

" Hey Vulpix you'll need a friend for Viridian Forest so how about we catch a new Pokemon on this Route ".​

" Vul Vul ". She said whilst panting heavily.​

" I mean look your worn out at the moment I can't exactly rely on you for the whole of our journey can I ".​

" Vul Vul ". She obviously wanted him to.​

" Vulpix, I do have to catch new Pokemon aswell ".​

" Vul Vul ". She said. As if to say Oh okay I suppose so.​

" Come on then Vulpix let's battle something ". Said James as he took Vulpix out of his bag and gently put her on the floor. Vulpix suddenly barked at something that was coming out of the bushes, something Pink with a horn emerged out of the bush. " Wow Vulpix wonder what that is ". James took his Pokedex out of pocket and scanned the Pink horned Pokemon.​

Nidoran (Male)

The Poison pin Pokemon. It scans it's surroundings by raising it's ears out of the grass. It's toxic horn is for protection.​

" Alright Vulpix let's do this start it off with Ember ". Vulpix created a ball of fire in it's throat but as it was about to release it Nidoran's eyes turned a bright Red and put Vulpix off, the ball of fire inside Vulpix's throat was released but it didn't even reach the wild Nidoran. Nidoran then jumped up into the air and it's Poison point turned White it then moved towards Vulpix. " Vulpix fend Nidoran off with Tail Whip ". As Nidoran moved towards Vulpix, Vulpix used it's tail to hit Nidoran away. Nidoran was hit onto it's back feet with skid marks left in the ground. " Alright great stuff Vulpix, keep it up use Roar to scare him ". Vulpix growled at Nidoran, and Nidoran cowered away from Vulpix. " Vulpix keep it up buddy we've got the beating of him let's use Ember ". Vulpix swelled a ball of fire in it's throat and got ready to launch it at Nidoran. Nidoran then plucked up it's courage and moved foward with a scary glare in it's eyes, it was using Leer Once again. " Vulpix shut your eyes and use your senses to hit him with Ember ". Vulpix shut it's eyes and attempted to hit Nidoran with Ember, the ball of fire emnated from Vulpix but flew past Nidoran missing by quite alot. Nidoran's horn then turned White and it flew towards Vulpix attempting to use Peck. " Vulpix you can do this use Ember on your tail then use Tail Whip when Nidoran gets close ". The same fire ball came out of Vulpix's mouth and engulfed Vulpix's tail with fire. Nidoran then jumped at Vulpix, Vulpix hit Nidoran with it's flamed tail sending Nidoran onto the floor lying on it's back. " Alright great work Vulpix, let's finish this use Ember full power ". A big ball of fire was growing in Vulpix's mouth then it released it, as Nidoran was still lying on the floor it couldn't avoid the attack. Vulpix released the fire from it's mouth and this time it connected with Nidoran fainting it in the process. " Alright Vulpix great work, go Pokeball ". James took an empty Pokeball from his belt and threw it towards Nidoran, Nidoran was engulfed by the Pokeball then it started shaking....​
 
@FlareonFan - It's not looking good for Kairi atm, hopefully she will be okay...

note - about the post length, you just need at least one decent paragraph... so that post was more than enough :)

@Bemertonboy - I guess Vulpix is going to have to adapt to James having more than one pokemon...

note - In future battle posts can you separate each new line of speech. It just makes it easier to read, cheers

Once the van started to move, each second passed made Sean get closer to more worries and stress. "This can't be...the time hasn't come yet. I just know it!" Sean kept muttering to himself to keep himself occupied, and stop himself from worrying. Pikachu and Togepi both had tears in their small eyes, looking up to the shelf, where Kairi lay peaceful. Sean then turned to notice them, and tried to comfort them, "She's going to be just fine. The doctors will make her better. The worst that can happen is a couple of broken bones." Sean made them think that, but he wasn't so sure. He thought the worst would be a lot worse than just broken bones. ​

Before they knew it, the ambulance had ended up at the hospital parking lot. Once the ambulance stopped into the parking space, Sean thought, "This is it." He was still confident, but even if that small bit of unluck got to him, he could not think that it wasn't real. The back door was then opened, with the driver and two paramedics showing them off. Once out of the van, Sean, Pikachu and Togepi all watched them take Kairi off the shelf. "Please follow us inside the hospital, and to her room." The ordered, with all of them obeying. All of them were nervous for her, Sean suddenly lost all his confidence. ​

Each one of them made their way through the parking lot. Sean and Pikachu were stumbling nervously, they couldn't walk properly since the thought of Kairi being unconscious, and possibly at serious illness. They then followed the paramedics into the large hospital. It looked like a regular hospital, with lots of beds, machines and people all at desks and receptions. They walked through corridors, with lots of beds with people laying in them, and visitors all praying that they would get better soon. However, no-one could hope as much as Sean would for his best friend. They still went through corridors, watching people comfort their loved ones, until they ended up stopping at one room. "This is the room where she will be staying. If you could you please come inside with us." The Paramedics held the door open, letting them all in.​

When Sean and Pikachu walked inside with the Paramedics, they sown their hands out to a seat at the side of the room. Kairi was placed in a hospital bed, with the white duvet placed flat on top of her. Next to the bed, there was a machine that measured her pulse, and that could help er if any emergancies were to happen. The doctor came over to Sean, with the nurses attending the bed. "So, tell me what happened." The doctor had one eyebrow lifted up, with his lips in a normal expression. Sean replied, still sounding nervous, worrying for Kairi's state, "Well. We were all down at Vermilion Beach when Kairi saw a Shiny Staryu in the wild. She was interested in catching it, but the Staryu was too hyper, and did a Rapid Spin on her chest. She hung in for a few minutes, until the Staryu did it again, coughing up more blood. Eventually, Staryu was caught, and couldn't attack anymore, unfortunately, Kairi was knocked out. I could not hear her breathe, but I'm just hoping she'll be fine. I have all of her Pokemon to hang onto until she gets better." He explained with his head down and eyes shut. The doctors were working on Kairi just then a girl with blue hair with a Pichu on her shoulder walked in, and up to Sean,"Hello. My name is Marina and I'm a Pokemon Ranger, where is the patient at? I have some potion here made from some Oran Berries that will save her life." She looked at him confidently, Sean breathed a sigh of relief that there is hope for Kairi and that he was right, that Kairi would be fine indeed. "She's right over there." Sean pointed his finger at the bed, with Kairi occupant and the Paramedics surrounding her. Marina headed over to the bed, with her dark blue shoes tapping the hospital carpet. ​

Marina gave Kairi the potion. Then came back out where Pichu was trying to get Pikachu to play with him. Marina's Pichu was weird looking though. It was a shiny Pichu and it had blue eyes instead of black eyes,"Ok, she will be find in a few hours. Come on Pichu time to go," she told him. "Pichu!" Pichu said as he got on Marina's shoulder as they left. Pikachu and Togepi went into Kairi's room and sit by her bed. Sean was told to wait outside in the waiting room, on the cushion chair. His face was confident, no longer needing to worry. But still, even if it didn't work, Sean still had that thought that made blood ripple through his arm twice as fast. About two hours later, Sean could hear a cheer from the room, Kairi was up,"Pikachu! Togepi!" She said hugging them both. Pikachu ran out the door to the waiting room and got Sean,"Pika pi!" He said pulling at his pants leg.​

Sean walked inside of the room again, with both eyebrows raised and his mouth open. He was so relieved to seeKairi back in good health, "Sean! It's so good to see you again!" Kairi cheered and ran out of bed. They both and eyebrows raised, aswell as her two Pokemon, Togepi was jumping in happiness, with Pikachu dancing about. "It's so good to have you back, Kairi!" Sean was so happy to see her in good health again, his head was held really high as they both left the room, with the doctor who was also ahppy to see them happy together.​
 
"Let's go, Poliwag!" Warren shouted, releasing the small tadpole. It landed facing Guy. Seeing him, it took a step back, looking surprised. Guy just sniggered.
"Your Poliwag looks scared," he remarked, "And that makes it weak. Electrike, go!" Warren started as he released the Pokémon, but now that he thought about it, Beedrill was the only one of Guy's Pokémon that he knew about, disregarding Bite and Mankey.
"Use Thunder Wave!" Warren snapped back to reality as Guy issued his first command.
"Dodge and use Water Gun!" he shouted and Poliwag charged forwards, leaping over the thin blue lightning, landing right behind Electrike and hitting it with a close range Water Gun attack. The jet of water threw Electrike backwards, but it landed on its feet and shook itself dry, not showing any signs of injury.
"Thunder Fang!" This time, Poliwag couldn't quite dodge and Electrike bit into its tail, its two front teeth wreathed in electricity. Poliwag squealed in pain, barely managing to pull free. Staggering a little, it faced Electrike once again and its spiral began to spin, slowly at first but gaining speed. Electrike stood there, completely zoned out by the hypnosis attack. Grinning, Poliwag ran forwards, delivering a close range Bubble attack. The lightning Pokémon stumbled back, shaking off the Hypnosis.
"Tackle that pest!" Guy spat and Electrike blinked a few times to clear its head, then charged forwards once more at an explosive speed.
"Water Gun!" Warren shouted desperately.
"Keep going!" Guy ordered and his Pokémon did just that, charging straight into the jet of water, sending it splashing to the sides. With an immense effort, it powered through the Water Gun and struck Poliwag, who flew backwards. Painfully, it struggled to its feet, but Warren could see that it wouldn't last much longer. Guy could see it too.
"Tackle it again!" he shouted and the tired Electrike threw itself forwards once more. But Warren had had an inspiration.
"Water Gun on the ground!" he shouted and Poliwag aimed down and fired the jet of water directly into the floor, sending it flying into the air. Electrike spun around, staring in shock at the now flying Poliwag.
"Bubble!" Warren shouted and Poliwag, reaching its peak, fired off a huge amount of blue bubbles, pinning down Electrike like a bug on a microscope slide. The almost defeated Pokémon fell to the ground, then looked up just in time to be hit in the face with a high-velocity tadpole. Guy gasped as the dust settled to reveal Poliwag standing there with a determined look on its face. Electrike was lying at its feet, unconscious. Speechless, Guy returned it, then threw the ball to Warren. For a second, he examined the small Pokeball lying in his hand, then sighed, dropped it and marched back to Vermillion, leaving a very confused looking Guy in his wake.
 
Danny The Rival ?​


The Pokeball stopped shaking then there was a dinging sound and the Nidoran was captured. James moved over and picked up the Pokeball containing his new Pokemon.​

" Yes I caught a Nidoran ". James shouting whilst holding his newly caught Nidoran's Pokeball in his hand. James looked to his Vulpix and said " Hey Vulpix Viridian Forest's up ahead it' right before Pewter City, where we'll get our First badge ". James left Vulpix by his side and started to walk towards the Forest entrance.​

" Don't take another step ". James heard a familiar voice so he turned around to see a familiar face it wa the Ninja like kid from when he First received his Vulpix.​

" What you again ".​

" Yes it's me Danny the Ninja Pokemon trainer ".​

" Oh so your name's Danny mines James ".​

" James huh sounds like a weak name just like your Vulpix ".​

" Shut up Danny my Vulpix is much stronger now and it could take you down ".​

" Alright then prove it in a Two on Two battle ".​

" Okay then for starters I choose you Nidoran ". James' Nidoran Male emerged from it's Pokeball.​

" Nido Nido Ran ".​

" Humph what a weak Pokemon, My First Pokemon will destroy your Nidoran, I choose you Shellder ". Out of the Pokeball came a Pokemon that just looked like a shell. James took out his Pokedex and scanned the Pokemon.​

Shellder

The Bivalve Pokemon. It's the Pre-Evolved form of Cloyster. It swims backward by opening and closing it's Two shells. It's large tongue is always kept hanging out.​

" Wow it looks rare ".​

" Your darn right it is, Shellder let's use Icicle Spear ". Four Icicles came out of Sheller's mouth and flew straight at Nidoran.

" Right Nidoran use Peck on all four Icicles and guide the shards towards Shellder ". Nidoran used it point to smash all Four Icicles and because of the angle of the Peck the shards flew towards Shellder.

" Shellder use Protect ". A bright light emnated in front of Shellder and it smashed the shards with ease causing no harm to Shellder. " Way too predictable now use Bubblebeam ". A series of fast bubbles flew towards Nidoran.

" Right Nidoran you know we can finish this spin to avoid the bubbles then jump and use Peck full power ". Nidoran jumped to the side of the bubbles then spun towards the Shellder, Nidoran then used Peck right in the middle of Shellder's shell creating a crack in the middle of it.

" Return Shellder unlucky ". Said Danny returning the Shellder before it became even more hurt. " James because my Shellder is severly hurt I'm going back to Viridian to heal it, but after you win your First badge in Pewter it will be your final Pokemon againest my final Pokemon, is that a deal ".

" Yeah I suppose it's a deal ".

" See ya around ". Said Danny as he ran back towards Viridian City. James then walked off into the forest.
 
Motives and a new friend

"Flareon ember!"

"Sandshrew scratch!"

Sandshrew flew straight through the ember attack, several of the flames scorching his small body. He raised a paw and when he was close enough slashed it across Flareon's face.

"Davis, stop this." Rini tried to plead with him. "We don't have to fight."

"Yes, we do." Davis was still refusing to look at her. "Flareon, quick attack!"

"Ah!" Rini gasped as her pokemon was slammed into and knocked several feet back. "Sandshrew?!"

"Shrew...." Sandshrew struggled to stand.

"Finish him. Use Flamethrower!"

"Davis stop this!" Rini yelled as a flame shot towards Sandshrew, who was too weak to get away. "Sandshrew!"

"Oddish!" her beginner pokemon suddenly appeared before Sandshrew and took the brunt of the attack, making Rini gasp. She had managed to escape her own pokeball. She dropped to one knee severly weakened by the flames and breathed heavily.

"Bite her Flareon!" Davis had been shocked as well, but was the first to recover. "If your pokemon are just going to throw themselves at my attacks I may as well give them to them."

Flareon doved at Oddish, but only suscceded in biting the tops of her leafs.

Rini's eyes widened as a though occured. "Oddish use poison powder!"

Flareon coughed as she powder was shot straight into her open mouth, and backed away from the plant type swaying on spot as the poison took effect.

"Flareon?" Davis asked, looking worried.

"Absorb!" Rini suddely yelled, looking much more assured of herself.

"Quick attack!" Davis yelled at the same time.

Flareon wobbled to the side slightly, and Oddish used that to her advantage. Together with her health sapping move and the poison Flareon fell over with a final "Flare!"

"Flareon!" Davis started toward his fallen partner, but Rini beat him there.

"You'll be fine." she knelt at the poisoned pokemon's side and injected an anitidote directly into the panting pokemon's mouth. Flareon immediately relaxed, and Davis recalled him.

There was a long silence that streatched on between Rini and Davis as he finally made eye contact with her.

Suddenly he smiled, and not a smirk either. "I give up. I wasn't exactely all for this in the first place."

Rini recalled both of her tired pokemon, and picked up Pichu who had somehow managed to sleep through all of this. Little girl must sleep like a Snorlax.

"I understand now." Rini looked downcast as she walked up to Davis. "Your the bad guy and you wanted to steal my pokemon right?"

Pidgey kept strangly quiet from her shoulder.

"Not anymore...." Davis whispered.

"Pardon?" Rini asked, having barely heard that.

Pichu moved in her sleep and was now sprawled messily over Rini's other shoulder, hainging slightly.

"Nothing." Davis took her hands in both of his and pulled thim close to his chest, and for a few moments Rini thought he'd kiss her. "I'm sorry." he finally said, and Rini felt something placed into her hands.

"Davis.....what?" he placed a finger on her lips to silence her.

"Not here." Davis looked around as though afraid someone would spot them. "I said I'd get you out of here remember?"

Rini blushed and pulled her hands back to see what he had handed her. A pokeball shined there. "Davis?"

"Later." he warned, and began pulling her rather quickly through the cave. He wore a serious and almost scary look on his face.

Rini truged along silently behind him for almost half an hout before they saw the light leading outside.

"Finally." Rini let his hand go and ran ahead, Davis chuckling lightly followed her into the sunlight. "I didn't think the sun could ever feel this good."

Davis walked up to stand beside her and pointed ahead. "Cerilian City is right around that bend. There's a gym and pokemon center. I think you'll be ok now."

"What about you?" Rini asked, concern gracing her face.

"There's something else I have to take care of." Davis glanced back at the cave. He turned to leave. "Take care of her ok?"

"Huh?" Rini looked confussed. "Who?"

Davis grinned and walked back into the cave, and Rini glanced down at the pokeball. "Oh." she released the pokemon within.

"Vee."

Cerulean at last

Rini walked down the path from Mt. Moon to Cerulean City. She was tired and really feeling like a shower would be a good idea.

She glanced down at Eevee who was trotting along beside her with Pichu on his back.

"I wonder why Davis gave me a pokemon?" she wondered aloud to herself. She had returned Pidgey a while ago for a little rest. "Aren't Eevee's kinda rare?"

"Vee." Eevee glanced up at Rini with with a large grin in place.

"Pichu." Pichu grinned back at her as well.

"Awww, who cares. Your super cute Eevee and you too Pichu." Rini smiled.

Once they arrived in the city Rini quickly looked around, and spying the pokemon center rushed inside Eevee rushing in behind her just before the doors swooshed closed.

"Nure Joy." Rini smiled and waved as she approached the front desk.

"Hi there." Nurse Joy smiled. "How may I help you?"

"I just need a few pokemon healed, as well as a room for the night." Rini handed over Sandshrew and Oddish's pokeballs.

"Sure that's no problem." Nurse Joy took the pokeballs, turned to leave and turned back. "Would you like to enter our drawing?"

"For what?" Rini looked curious.

"Our sponser is offering a one night stay in an exclusive hotel right here in Cerulean City. All expenses paid even dinner." Nurse Joy handed Rini a slip of paper.

"I don't see why not." Rini began filling out the information. "Even if I lose it's not like I've lost anything."

Rini handed the paper to Nurse Joy who filed it away, before taking her pokemon back to heal them.

"You two hungry?" Rini glanced down at Eevee and Pichu.

"Vee." Eevee licked his mouth.

Pichu's stomach growled slightly. "Pi?" she looked upset, and Rini lifted her up into her arms.

"Let's go to the cafeteria then."

"Let's head back to the beach Sean. But before that I want to get my Staryu, since I also want to be a Water Master," Kairi opened that book of hers that Misty's had given her on water Pokemon. She turned a few pages and found something very interesting,"Oh wow! It says here that there's a Water Pokemon League in the Battle Frontier. Maybe after I become a Coordinator Master, I can challenge the water league that's in the Battle Frontier. But it says here that I'd only be aloud to bring water Pokemon with me, meaning I'd have to leave Pikachu and Togepi behind. I'd hate to do that to them. Sean you think maybe when I go to the water league you could look after Pikachu and Togepi for me until I get back?" She asked him as they walked down the road to the Pokemon Center so that Kairi could get her Staryu. She had totually forgotten about the white buttom inside her Pokedex that lets her exchange her Pokemon. She just wanted a reason to talk to Professor Maple is all. Once they got there, Kairi walked up to the PC and called Prof. Maple's number,"Prof. I'd like to exchange my Nidoran for my Staryu please," She told her.

"Ok, just put it's PokeBall in the little opening and I'll get your Staryu," Prof. Maple told her. Kairi put Nidoran's ball in the opening and it zapped away to the Professor's lab. There was another zap as Staryu's ball appeared,"Got it Professor," Kairi said. She turned to Sean,"Sean is there any of your Pokemon you wish to exchange before we go?" She asked him.

Kairi turned to Sean, with the Proffessor also looking at him from the screen of the PC. Before Sean came out with an answer, one of his PokeBalls started to rattle from his pocket, with a sudden Pokemon jumping out, Nidoran, who was sniffing around for Kairi's female Nidoran. Suddenly, on the screen of Proffessor Maple, Nidoran female also jumped out from over there, who then scratched the screen. "Hahaha. Looks like I've found the Pokemon to transfer." Sean checkled quietly, with Proffessor Maple and Kairi all grinning. "In that case," Proffessor Maple was starting to suggest, "I guess you know which Pokemon to transfer now." Proffessor maple had her eyebrows at over normal position, and her arms were folded. "I do. Come on, Nidoran. You can go and see the other Nidoran now." Sean's eyes were on Nidoran, whos eyes were big and had eyelids wide open, and ready to go. Sean grabbed the small PokeBall from his jean pocket and pushed the white button in the moddle, forcing Nidoran back inside. Sean placed the PokeBall into the slot on the PC, and then the ball started to glow. Just soon after the glowing started, the ball vanished and ended up with Maple. Just after the ball had appeared at her lab, Nidoran had popped back out, and had kept playing with Kairi's Nidoran. "Well, I guess you can go now. Have a good night!" they both waved to the PC scree, with Maple waving back and then hanging up.

"Um...Kairi. There's something I must tell you..." Sean suddenly started to question her, sounding nervous yet again with his eyebrows slanted.

Kairi then looked back at hm interested, sounding curious, "What is it Sean?" he had to answer in some way, but he didn't want to offend her for what he was about to say. "Kairi. I cannot look after your Pokemon. There just isn't enough room, and Pikachu and Togepi will always want to stay outside. I don't think I can handle it. I'm sorry about this." Seans nexk was bent, with his head down and eyes closed with a nervous expression.

"Oh that's ok I understand. You understand right Pikachu?" Kairi asked him. Pikachu nodded his head. Kairi and Sean then when down to the beach, and started looking around for somemore fights. Just then two water Pokemon appeared in the water right in front of them,"It's a Horsea and a Goldeen!" Kairi said, pointing.
 
Warren grinned as he shoved open the doors to the gym. The entire place was one huge sand-covered battling arena. At the other end, a man was sitting on the floor next to a Raichu.
"Lieutenant Surge!" he bellowed and the man glanced up, "I'm here for a battle!" Surge grinned and stood up...and up...and up. Warren gasped, in spite of himself. Surge was huge. Not just regular big, but abnormally, unnaturally massive.
"Well, I'm ready to battle!" he shouted, "REFEREE! GET IN HERE!" A small, nervous looking man hurried in, looking a little flustered. Taking up his position, he began with the usual spiel:
"The Gym battle between Warren Simmons, the challenger and Lieutenant Surge, the Gym Leader, will now begin! Each trainer will use two Pokemon and both trainers may make substitutions at any time, if they so wish. Now, Warren, Surge, release your first Pokémon!"
The lieutenant grinned.
"There's only one Pokémon that I'll be using, and that's Raichu! Let's go!" The giant orange rodent bounced forwards, crouching down on all four legs to face Warren. Sparks flitted around its cheeks.
"It's finally time! Let's go, Bellsprout!" Warren called, releasing the small plant. It faced Raichu determinedly, its leaves raised.
"Thundershock!" Surge made the first move of the battle and Raichu instantly complied, sparks strengthing into yellow lightning, which leapt from Raichu to Bellsprout.
"Dodge it!" Warren shouted, but the plant was too slow. The electricity flooded through its body and Bellsprout fell to one knee. Luckily, its resistance seemed to be just enough to keep it together and it shook off the residual charge as Raichu cut off the flow.
"Take it out with Sleep Powder!" Warren ordered, desperate to regain some control over the battle. Bellsprout inhaled deeply, then breathed out what seemed to be an impossible amount of purple powder, considering the size of its body.
"Thundershock again!" Warren looked up, surprised. Surge wasn't even worried. Grinning, Raichu stepped forwards. Thunder sparked from its cheeks and, with a flash of crimson, the powder ignited and flames erupted across the arena, dying as quickly as they came. More through luck than skill, Bellsprout dodged most of the fire, escaping with only minor burns. Angry, it looked at its opponent. Warren realised that he had to try something different, he couldn't just launch random attacks and hope that they worked.
"Coat your vines in Sleep Powder!" he shouted on a sudden inspiration and Bellsprout drew the vines past its mouth, covering them in the purple dust. Surge just smirked.
"So you made your plant more flammable. How does that help you?"
"Vine Whip that Raichu!" Bellsprout nodded, then swiped at the electric mouse. It leapt, barely dodging the poisonous whip. But the walking plant struck again and this time it just grazed Raichu's nose. It wasn't enough to hurt the Raichu, but of course, that wasn't the point. Glancing down, it saw a small purple smear on the end of its nose. Surprised, it gasped and drew most of the Sleep Powder into its mouth. It's eyes widened momentarily, then drifted shut and Raichu fell over, asleep.
"Alright! Now, slam it down with Vine Whip!" Bellsprout grinned gleefully, then wrapped its vines around Raichu's feet and threw it upwards, smashing it right through the thin plaster ceiling. Surge looked up in dismay as Raichu came back through, now very much awake. It landed hard, throwing up a huge dust cloud. Warren squinted, trying to see through it. Surely, there was no way it could still be conscious. But, as the dust settled, Raichu was revealed to not only be conscious, it was also standing and giving Bellsprout evils. Surge laughed.
"That's the thing 'bout my Raichu!" he shouted, "You might hurt him, but its damn hard to do more than just anger him!" Warren groaned. He got the feeling that this battle had only just begun...
 
@Alipeewee - Nice start to the battle... that Raichu is strong! can't wait for part 2.

just one thing, you put it as a 2 on 2 battle when its only 1 on 1... but thats only a minor detail, nice post
 
OOC: damn, I typed this out in full then just before I posted it..."Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." I hate Vista :(

"Mega Punch!" Warren blanched as Raichu leapt forwards. He hadn't expected such a speedy counter-attack.
"Block with Vine Whip!" he ordered and Bellsprout stumbled back, vines clashing with fists. Frustrated by the defence, Raichu threw itself into the air, flying at the walking plant with a double fisted attack.
"Bend!" Warren shouted desperately and Bellsprout complied, leaning over backwards until its head brushed the floor. The electric mouse flew over its head and landed on all fours, skidding around. Bellsprout flipped right over, spinning in a half-circle and sweeping the floor with its vines. Raichu was knocked off its feet, but its teeth closed around one of the vines and Surge grinned.
"Thunderbolt!" he ordered and Raichu fired a powerful jet of lightning along Bellsprout's vine, igniting the sleep powder that still remained on it. The walking plant shrieked in pain, reeling back and waving its smouldering vines desperately. Warren gasped; without its vines, Bellsprout's only attack was Wrap and getting up close with Raichu would be suicide. But Vine Whip was completely out of the question...unless...Warren smiled as an idea came to him.
"Use Growth and focus it on your vines!" he commanded, more than a hint of desperation in his voice. Bellsprout dropped its vines, then breathed deep and concentrated. Surge and Raichu simply stood there and looked amused. But it worked. As Warren watched in amazement, fresh plant growth spurted out of the vines, pasting over the injured areas and thickening the green ropes.
"Vine whip, with just one vine!" Warren cried as Surge ordered a Quick Attack. Raichu was caught and dragged to the ground before it covered even half the distance, the vine twisting around its neck.
"Thundershock..." Surge yawned, seemingly bored. Warren had a plan, however.
"Vine whip into the floor!" he shouted and Bellsprout complied, firing its inactive vine through the sandy covering and into the base rock that made up the Gym floor. Raichu gasped in defeat as its Thundershock passed down Bellsprout's vine, into its body, through its other vine and into the floor, seemingly without affecting the plant at all. Warren laughed in glee.
"You see, Surge," he drawled patronisingly, "With Bellsprout literally rooted into the ground, any charge simply passes through its body. It's been grounded, quite literally. So none of your electric attacks will work and with Raichu tied up, physical attacks might be difficult." Surge ground his teeth, but Warren wasn't going to give him time to think.
"Finish it, Bellsprout!" he shouted maniacally and the walking plant tightened its grip. Squealing faintly, it scrabbled at the vine, but to no avail. Slowly, its efforts began to weaken and Warren nodded to Bellsprout. It released Raichu slightly, who instantly took a deep breath. With its opponent almost defeated, Bellsprout laughed once, briefly, then slammed it into the floor with all its power. Surge moaned as the dust cleared to reveal Raichu lying there, most definitely unconscious.
The referee cleared his throat.
"Raichu is unable to battle!" he shouted, "The battle goes to the challenger, Warren. He is to be awarded the Thunder Badge" Surge looked at the referee, irritated, but Warren could tell that he was most annoyed at himself. Sighing, he threw the small metal badge to Warren, who clipped it onto his belt next to his other two badges. He grinned and looked down to Bellsprout, looking very tired, but very pleased by its battle.
"Hey, how about he head into town and I get you some top-quality fertiliser?" he shouted, grinning, and Bellsprout cheered in glee. It turned briefly to look at its defeated opponent, then skipped happily over to Warren, who promptly smacked it for doing so.
"We'll rest up at the Pokémon Centre, then head on to our next badge!" Warren said, grinning, "At this rate, nothing can stop us!"
