[Best Veteran March/May 2011] A new professor in town - Kanto Adventure PG13

Sean was on the path of Route 6, going back to Saffron City to see if there was more info on where he could find the shiny Eevee, but he knew that there would be lots of people in the way of him, especially Callum. So there Sean was, just taking his path, avoiding the patched of wild grass and dodging several trainers in battles together, which Sean didn't have the time to be part of. As he got closer, he could hear more crowd noise, which disorientated him as he did not like the sound of more people trying to see the Eevee before he even had a chance. Not only that, but some of these trainers could be leagues ahead of him, and have Pokemon that will surely overpower his, but Sean would not give up, he was determined to capture this Eevee without nobody knowing except himself. Finally, he approached the door to the big building where there was a guard that stood at the desk, incase any criminals entered. Sean walked inside, and could see a lot of people all talking and laughing together, it was just like a party. Sean tried to avoid the people, pushing past them without apologizing, they all gave him evil looks in return to his rudeness. Of course, he didn't care at all at the moment because all he wanted to do was get through Saffron as quick as possible. After rushing past everybody there, he finally reached the end of the building and exited through the red door, into Saffon City.

Once he was in the city, it was way more crowded than Vermilian, without a doubt, because every space there was atleast three people crowding the area. Sean still had to work his way through the city like he did with the building he just walked through, but this was insane, there was far too many people, and Sean had diffisculty trying to find how to get to the next Route where Eevee may possibly be. There were two ways; one was to Lavender Town and one was to Celadon City. Sean had no clue which one was the bestest way to go, but the crowd had mainly been hovering around the east of the city, which was the way to Lavender Town. However, he could see a boy dressed in dark clothes with dark hair and a dark bag, which looked a lot like Callum, who hung around with...a little girl dressed in green and had blonde hair...Diane. Sean was speechless, he could definetely not let Diane get that Eevee or else he would never hear the end of it from her. So of course, Sean had no time at all to lose at all, as he could see Diane getting inside the small building that stood inbetween Route 7 and Saffron City. He ran up, through all the people who were trying to get through the city, who all thought he must be some rogue. Sean then got to the door of the building, and he opened it, noticing that Diane and Callum were not there, that they were infact already at Route 7, most likely searching for Eevee. Sean was out of his breath, but he had to run fast up to Diane or else she may possibly get it. Sean rushed his ay through the red door, and out on the plains of Route 7, where Celadon City was in sight, and Diane and Callum were on the grass, Sean shouted to get their attention, "Oi!"

Heres Route 7...

Route 7

Number of Posts: 2-3

Description: A path running from Mt Moon to Cerulean City. There are a few trainers dotted along this route, as well as a number of wild pokémon.

What can you do in a Route?

Generally the main two things you can do on a route are capturing pokémon and battling trainers. You can do many other things, you know free will and all that... Anyways, you cannot meet any of the other RPers, and everyone have fun.

Note - due to the rareness of Eevee's there is a max of one per player.

Note - the title specifying the rarity of a pokémon refers to how hard a pokémon is to catch. i.e. a much better post is required to catch an uncommon pokémon than to catch a common pokémon.
How I level the pokémon you're catching will depend on how good your post is. When you're trying to catch a pokémon, you cannot decide if you catch it. When trying to catch a pokémon you have to finish your post off when you throw the pokéball and wait for my response telling you if the capture was successful or not. You cannot continue until you know that it was caught. In battles, I will level up your pokémon depending on the quality of your battle post.

Warren gasped as Beedrill was slammed into the ground by the Confusion attack. Defiantly, it struggled to its feet.
"That's the spirit!" Warren cheered, "Now Beedrill, we have to get that gunk off your stingers!" Use Fury Attack against the ground." Beedrill nodded, then slammed its two huge spears onto the ground. The hardened String Shot cracked, then fell to the ground in pieces. Beedrill raised its two stingers, clashing them together menacingly.
"Alright, let's go for Poison Sting and Fury Attack, together! And this time, keep away from that String Shot!" The giant bee grinned, then raised all three of its menacing spikes and flew forwards yet again...

I apologize for interupting, but are there any spots left for anything? Just curious...I'll delete this message if the answer is no.

"Freeee!" Butterfree screached as she was subjected to both a fury attack and a poison sting.

"Butterfree, break away!" Rini yelled.

Butterfree fell to the ground with a large thud, and stood up a little slower then before, then she suddenly winced.

The multi attack combo had taken it's desired affects.

Butterfree was poisoned.

She weezed lightly as she rose to the air once more.

"That's it Butterfree, use tackle to get in close followed by sleep powder! Show no mercy"

Butterfree took a deep breath and shot straight at Beedrill.

Beedrill winced as the Tackle attack hit it in the gut, driving its breath out in a whoosh. Crying out, it struggled to its feet, then gasped as purple powder began to drift from Butterfree's wings.
"Hold your breath!" Warren shouted and Beedrill nodded, clamping its mouth shut. Some of the Sleep Powder landed on Beedrill's face, which was slowly changing colour to match it. Gritting his teeth, Warren barked out another order:
"Fly up, high, above the cloud! Then dive and spin, to shake of the stuff that's still stuck on!" With a huge effort, Beedrill rose into the air, climbing high, before diving towards Butterfree and pirouetting. The Sleep powder began to drift away from his body, but Beedrill's face was beginning to spasm from its lack of oxygen. Warren moaned as it finally relented, taking in a huge breath that was about eighty percent purple, poisonous powder. Beedrill was still diving towards Butterfree, but now it was tumbling out of control and asleep...

Rini watched Beedrill soar up high as it attempted to rid itself of the sleep powder.

"Not bad." she smirked, which quickly turned into a frown when she noticed Beedrill plumting towards the ground.

She watched for a few seconds and when Beedrill didn't pull up gave her next command.

"Butterfree, catch Beedrill!"

Butterfree flew up and under the other bug catching it on her back and flying over to Warren to dump his pokemon at his feet. "Freee....."

"Way to go Butterfree." Rini grinned when her bug flew back to her. "Nice save."

She and Butterfree slapped each other a high five.

Warren poked the unconscious bug with his toe. Its only response was to snore a little more loudly.
"Stupid bug..." he muttered, "Alright, let's go Rattata!" His second pokemon, the small purple rat, burst from its pokeball, fangs bared. Growling softly, it stepped forwards.
"We have to watch out for that Sleep Powder, Rattata!" Warren ordered, "So let's make this fast. Use your Quick Attack to get onto its back, then Bite its feelers. That should cause some pain." Rattata looked sceptical, glancing at the soaring Butterfree, then turning back to Warren questioningly.
"Ratta?" Warren facepalmed.
"So you can't reach it? I might have known...hang on...I've got an idea!" Warren stepped back and winked at Rattata, before uttering that short phrase that was becoming something of a catchphrase.
"Warren, use, Megakick!"

Rini's eyes widened slightly.

He wouldn't.....?

"Butterfree, fly higher!"

Butterfree flew straight up just as Warren's Rattata was sent flying towards her. It was close, but not enough as Warren's pokemon caught ahold of Butterfree's foot and was dragged into the air along with her.

"Try and shake him off!" Rini yelled, as Butterfree weeved first one was then the other.

She glared over at Waren. "How could you kick your pokemon like that? What if you'd really hurt him?"

Rini's fists were clinched at her sides.

OOC: Sorry for the little bit of control, I couldn't figure any other way around it. :)

Diane and Callum had strated to argue, not even noticing that Sean as in midst of them, but Sean was keen on listening up on what they were saying. They were arguing, of course, Sean could tell, but he could not see what it was all about. Eventually, he got what they were saying, Diane had a sugg look on her face while Callum was furious, Diane was speaking in her little innocent girl voice, "Oh, don't worry. Thank you for showing where MY shiny Eevee is! Your job is done my strange couzin, off you go home!" of course, Sean didn't like her since she was his rival, but he didn't like the sound of Callum wither. Sean hated Diane even more after hearing that she was too after Eevee.Callum was angry, and raised his fist in front of Diane who smiled even more and gave another girly remark, "It's not nice to hit girls." she giggled like a little girl would, which made Callum realy angry. He then raged off to Celadon, leaving her there. She was smiling, and seeing if she could spot any glows from the shiny Eevee, until she then turned to notice Sean watching her. "Guess who." Sean raised one eyebrow ate her, with her keeping her evil smile on. "Oh, you're just in time, Taylor. Just in time to watch me catch my shiny Eevee here. All you silly fools think you are really gunna deserve it, sorry, only sweet little girls like me deserve such a cutey wootey Pokemon like Eevee, and shiny makes it even better!" she ended her evil speech with another girly laugh, with Sean countering with another remark. "Oh, that's rich. You, deserve a shiny Eevee, yeah right, you don't deserve anything." Sean was gettign annoyed by her facial expression, which had gradually changed through his speech. She was then giving him evils, and starting to get bratty. "Whatever! It's mine! And whatever you say won't stop me! Infact, battle me and prove it!" Sean had no worries challenging her as he had beaten several Gym Leaders and strongly succeeded, and she only has one badge. "Fine, that's no problem for me at all. All of minme against all of yours. Just be prepared to lose, because if I were you I wouldn't get your hopes up." Sean was bragging like he normally does, but Diane didn't like it and tried to stay in her own world. They both growled at each other, and took place in the middle of the field of Route 7. They had both gotten ready to start their battle with each other.

"Rattata is a 'her' actually, Rini," Warren drawled, "And believe me, I've had plenty of chances to perfect that move. Anyway, Rattata, hang on!" The purple rat, though still looking a bit miffed about being called a he, was starting to show signs of fear, as it rose higher and higher into the air.
"Look, Rattata, you're in a good position!" Warren shouted, "Try using your Bite attack on its wings - that ought to bring it back down to earth, with a crash!" Warren put on a fake smile and secretly crossed his fingers. This was a risky strategy, and he knew it. If Rattata landed beneath Butterfree, she'd get completely squished and he'd be two Pokémon down...

OOC- My bad... :P I really did think Rattata was a he. lol

"Oh yea...." Rini laughed. "My bad.....you say that, but you keep calling my Butterfree an it."

Butterfree was flying in a zig zag pattern, but the purple rat still hung on.

The situation was turning from in Rini's favor to against her very quickly. And there was still the small matter of her being poisoned to deal with.

Suddenly Rattata clamped down hard on Butterfree's wings, making her eyes widen in pain and she squealed loudly.

"Butterfree, try to dislodge her with confusion!"

Butterfree's eyes glowed slightly, then stopped at the purple rat clamped down harder breaking her consintration.

It was then Rini noticed Butterfree was decending to the ground quickly, and taking Rattata with her.

"Butterfree, pull up!" Rini panicked.

Butterfree adjusted her wings and tried to roll to the side to pin Rattata beneath her when she hit.

There was a thud and a large dust cloud that when cleared showed Butterfree on her back with a smilling Rattata on top.

Butterfree sighed, and passed out. Both the previous poison and the fall having been too much.

"Butterfree, return." Rini held out her pokeball. "You hung in there great." she smiled.

What to choose next that was the issue. Obviously this guy was not against using whatever tricks he could come up with to aid him.

"Sandshrew, go!"

"Shrew!" he glanced back at his trainer and blew a kiss.

"I hope this wasn't a mistake." Rini groaned.

Warren smiled, then looked at Sandshrew. Normally, he would have recalled Rattata immediately, but this time, the opponent was blowing kisses to its trainer. What a wimp.
"Rattata, let's get moving! You're faster than it, so use that to your advantage! Let's get behind it with a couple of Quick Attacks, then use your bite on its tail." Warren grinned evilly. "That might just upset it a little!" Rattata smiled, cried out in glee, then leapt forwards...only to stop a second later. Coughing, it licked its teeth a few times, then spat what looked like scales onto the ground.
"Did they come from Butterfree?" Warren wondered aloud, pulling out his Pokedex.
"Butterfree's wings are made of wafer-thin scales," the machine answered, "They are highly toxic and form the main component of its poison powder." Warren gaped. Without even meaning to, Rini had poisoned his Rattata.
"Don't worry about it Rattata," he shouted, "Just finish this battle quickly, so we can get you healed up." The rat nodded, then charged yet again.

(I hope you don't mind that this battle will last for four posts.)

Both Diane and Sean were facing each other, both looking serious and rather enfuriated with each other, a shiny Pokemon was at stake for them and the winner of the battle would truly prove who was worthy of it. Sean knew that if Diane won, she'd never shut up about it, and just keep going on about it every time he saw her, and she would rub it in too much, that's one reason why Sean needed the Eevee. Another, is that if he wanted to be the best of the best, the shiny Eevee would surely work with him to make him catch his dreams. Finally, Diane called out her first Pokemon. "Ready to meet your match? I'll show you right now! Come on out, Meowth!" so Diane got her PokeBall from her pocket, and raised it to the air before tossing it. For a normal type, Meowth would be a good challenge against Sean so he better had watch out. The PokeBall opened, releasing Meowth, ho sat and sratched its ears with its cream coloured paws. Now it was Sean's turn to send out his Pokemon, and he had a great idea what to choose, the Pokemon he never used before. "Show her what you're made of, Horsea!" Sean was excited to finally battle with his beautiful looking Horsea for the first time ever. He got his PokeBall out from his jean pocket, and sent it against the ground. Out came Horsea, who was floating above the ground which looked kinda weird. Sean still thought Horsea was going to be great for him, so he was confident that Meowth would be no problem for him, so Diane got herself ready to strike the first move.

Diane had a grim look on, which shown that the first move would be crafty and something that Sean might have trouble dealing with. She then smiled like she normally does when she has something sly up her sleeve, and she then spoke her first command to Meowth. "Perfect, start off with Fake Out!" of course, Fake Out was infact the most perfect move to use as it only works on the first turn, and it can cause Horsea to lose its first shot. However, Sean did not know that, so he just watched what was about to happen and wondered what Fake Out sould possibly do. Meowth was on both feet, and was just about ready to pounce over to Horsea. Suddenly, it leapt right over onto the air, and swiftly soared over to Horsea without any speech whatsoever. Just that moment, Meowths sharp claws on its paws were bared and ready to hit Horsea hard. Horsea was shocked and did not know that was coming, neither did Sean. Meowth then got close enough to swipe its paw right across Horsea in an instant. Horsea was struck hard, but it was still up and was miles away from being unable to battle, infact, it was only just about to really get started. Now it was Sean's turn, and he had to remember one of the moves Horsea used in that battle with it in the wild, so he remembered the one attack move it has. "Oh, Diane... you're so far from winning and you've got a long way to go so geat ready. Horsea, use your Bubble attack!" he ordered, and Horsea had responded very fast. Sean was excited to see what Horsea was made of against Diane, and show her that his Pokemon were much better than hers after all. Horsea aimed its mouth, which was like a tube, over to Meowth who was sitting there looking like a regular cat, not knowing at all that it was about to get shot by a bunch of bubbles. Just then, Horsea started to release some clear bubbles, which looked really pretty, but they were actually quite dangerous. Diane did not see them as any harm at all, and just laughed at it, "Oh my! This is so easy!" Diane was really wrong to misjudge, and really had no clue at all what the power of these bubbles were. As the bubbles got closer, Meowth somehow got attracted to the bubbles and didn't try to didge at all, instead, it just sat there watching. The bubbles then hit Meowth against the face, as it yelped in shock. Diane gasped, she really did misjudge Horsea. Sean cheered, and was rather happy that Horsea was capable of annoying Diane's Pokemon and her.

Meowth and Horsea were both hit once, and both were ready for more action. They both had eye contact, and were no longer not paying attention, they were in there. Sean was going to take the first hit this time, before Diane had yet another plan. This time, the plan was his as he knew one move that would seriously take Meowth down, as it was a move that would surely distract and annoy. "Horsea, use your Smokescreen!" Diane gave no response to that, and just carried on folding her arms and tapping her legs. Meowth was still wagging its tail, still thinking of what to do and waiting for a response from Horsea. Luckily for Sean, Smokescreen had great accuracy, and if it hit, then Meowth would have a very little chance of hitting. Horsea yeat again aimed its mouth in the direction of Meowth, who was sitting on its hind legs. Horsea then shot out a blob of ink, which was gettign closer to the ground rather than Meowth, but even if it didn't hit, Meowth would be totally inaccurate. So just then, the blob of ink had burst into a complete bunch of fog clouds. Nobody could see, and everybody kept coughing, but this was a good thing as neither could Meowth. Diane was getting to a point where she took back what she was saying, and misjudged Horsea just because it was small, but it didn't mean she wasn't determined. "Ugh! Meowth, use Scratch! I don't care if you can't see it just do it!" she wasn't nice as Sean knew, but she always wanted her own way as if it was all her. Sean was not worried at all, and could feel that Horsea had already won this one, as Meowth was getting getting ready to bare its sharp claws, as it was trying to detect Horsea. Meowth dived into a direction that looked a lot like Horsea was nearby, but infact, Meowth happened to have took a wrong direction, and its claws got nailed right into a rocky outcrop which really pained Meowth.

Of course, it was very painful and weakened Meowth a whole lot, so Diane had tried to find it. The fog had then cleared, and Meowth had its claw stuck right into a brown rock. Diane was getting overdramatic, and started to fear that now that Meowth was weak enough, Sean would win. "Oh no! My cute little Meowth!" like any little girl would, she got angry and could could not take anymore, but it was too late for her to switch out and lose, so Sean got ready to command Horsea for one more time. "Good call. Now then, Horsea, let's finish our first one. Use Bubble!" Sean was pleased, as he knew that his victory against Diane was in the bag and that there was no problem at all standing in the way. Once Horsea amed its tubular mouth at Meowth, Meowth's claws had then been removed from the rock and Diane was happy, but then she turned around to notice that Horsea was shooting out some bubbles. Diane ran out of the way quickly, so that she wouldn't get hurt, but that didn't stop Meowth from getting hit, so that had just happened. The bubbles had made small bursts onto Meowth, which had hurt Meowth who couldn't take any more and just fainted. Sean was ecstatic, because if he got one Pokemon down, then the others would be no problem at all. Diane just gave him a dirty look, and was starting to choose which Pokemon to use next.

Since Sean was using Horsea, a Water type Pokemon, Diane didn't take so long to choose her second choice. Sean and Horsea were still ready to see what was coming at them next, but he knew that knowing Diane, her Pokemon that was to be used next would surely be part of some plan for her to win. She made up her mind, and got the PokeBall from her pocket. "Do your stuff, Oddish!" Sean was in danger now, as Horsea only had opne attack and it was a weak water attack. Diane tossed her PokeBall to the ground, releasing the small blue plant with big green leaves. Sean didn't like what she was up to, so he was only going to use Horsea's other moves to his own advantage. Obviously, Diane took her first shot as Sean wanted to take his time. "Let's do this, Oddish! Use your Absorb!" this was a Grass type move, so Horsea was obviously in danger now, but he would make the most of Horsea's other great moves that would put weakness on Oddish. Oddish started to concentrace on Horsea, then started to shoot roots from its legs. Sean thought that now was the time to use a move, so he did so. "Okay, use your Leer, Horsea!" it wouldn't do any damage, but it would threaten Oddish slightly and make it less defensive. The roots from Oddish got closer and closer, as Oddish had its eyes shut, focusing hard on Horsea. Finally, Horsea started to glow its eyes gold, and narrowed them threateningly at Oddish. As it wasn't looking, Oddish carried on travelling its roots closer to Horsea, until it then reached Horsea's tail and the roots wrapped all around it. Horsea carried on with its Leer, and looked more evil towards Oddish, who then opened its eyes to notice it. As more energy travelled from Horsea to Oddish, Horsea started to sweat, and lost more energy each time. Horsea kept on getting weaker, but the evil look was still up, and Oddish was getting affected as it started to get frightened, and then stopped with the roots.

Oddish was still standing tall and confident, ready to pack another punch, even after the Leer that weakened it. On the other hand, Horsea was nearly completely knocked out, so Sean had to think fast on what he was going to use before he had to choose his next Pokemon. He thought this time that Diane should take the first move, as it would lead to his own advantage. They were both staring at each other. Diane was looking sly and cunning like normal, but Sean seemed to have a similar smile that was unfigurable, but it was all because he had a trick up his sleeve before Horsea would faint. Diane finally started up her command to Oddish, and just like Sean would have guessed, it was an attacking one. "Now let's finish this one off! Use Acid, Oddish!" it wasn't a Grass type move, but it was still perfectly capable of knocking out Horsea in its totally weak state. Oddish had opened its mouth, as Horsea was not paying much attention to what was going on, but Sean was just standing there watching closely for Oddish to let go of the Acid so he could give his command to Horsea. Oddish's small ball of Acid got bigger and bigger, and held it a little before it was going to let go. Diane gave a shout to signal to release it. "Now!" it was loud, and sounded like a child would shout if they didn't get what se wanted, but she was a child and that was what she wanted. Oddish finally spat out its purple ball of goo, which looked really nasty as it was hurled over in the direction of Horsea. Sean then countered with his command, which would not defend Horsea unfortunately, but instead it would give his next Pokemon a huge advantage. "Horsea, Try and get a Smokescreen!" of course, that if Sean used Smokescreen and got it in Oddish's eyes, then Oddish would be very inaccurate, making Sean's next Pokemon a huge step ahead. Horsea pointed its tubular mouth at Oddish, as the ball of Acid was still travelling across the air. The ball got closer to Horsea, so Sean was starting to worry if the Smokescreen would get fired before it would get hit. Horsea then shot out the black blob of ink at Oddish, hoping that it would reach over to its eyes. That second, Horsea got shot by the ball of Acid right across the face, then fell to the ground in defeat. Before Diane got the chance to brag, Oddish got hit in its blue eyes by the black blob of ink too, and it then shrouded across its eyeballs. Oddish staggered around in a circle, hopelessly, but Diane still smiled with her eyes closed. "Don't worry Horsea, you did great out there, you should rest now." Sean retreated Horsea, and then got back into position choosing his next Pokemon...

"Sandshrew use that trick I taught you earlier!" Rini suddenly grinned as the Rattata dew near. "Chase your tail while using sand attack!"

"Shrew!" Sandshrew nodded, while he began running in tight circles his nose to the tip of his tail.

He dissapeared as a wall of sand enveloped him.

When everything cleared Sandshrew was no where in sight. There was just the rustling of some bushes as the wind blew, and the sound of wild pokemon elsewhere.

"So Warren, still think you can take out Sandshrew as easily as you did Butterfree?" Rini suddenly smirked. "I may not look like much, and I'll be the first to admit my pokemon do what they please and somethimes are a bit strange. But I know when the time comes they'll pull together. I'd be careful of my next move if I were you. Sandshrew could be anywhere."

@FlareonFan - Nice battle, Diane will be difficult tyhough... :)

Congratulations Horsea grew to Level 10

@ILAYM & Rii - Because I forgot earlier...

Congratulations Rattata grew to Level 13 and learned Hyper Fang

Congratulations Butterfree grew to Level 14

Warren clenched his fists. Rini was smart, there was no doubt about that.
"Alright, don't worry Rattata!" he shouted, "Use Focus Energy to concentrate and see it you can find out where Sandshrew is! You've got giant ears and sensitive whiskers, so USE them for once!" Smiling a little, the small rat slowed its breathing, closed its eyes and settled down. Silence filled the area for several minutes, then Rattata's whiskers twitched, once. It smiled as they twitched again, then opened its eyes, staring directly at a bush to its left.
"Brilliant Rattata!" Warren cheered, "Now that you're locked onto it, smash it with Quick Attack, then go for the tail with Hyper Fang!" Rattata smiled, cried out and leapt forwards...

Rini grinned. "You hotheads are so predictable."

As soon as Rattata lept for the bush Sandshrew lept straight at her from the tree above.

"I did take into account Sandshrew isn't particualry fast, but with a few tactics that can be more then made up for." Rini suddenly looked serious. "Sandshrew scratch!"

Sandshrew raked his claws forward as he dove through the air, using his speed falling to add momentum to his attack. "Sandshrew!"

Rattata glanced up just in time and grinned. Instead of ending her Quick Attack there, as she'd planned, the small rat simply flew straight past, turning into a purple blur. Warren whooped in joy as Sandshrew's claws just missed Rattata's tail before striking the ground instead. The rat Pokémon spun around as Sandshrew landed, facing her.
"You know something, Rini," Warren shouted gleefully, "Tactics are all very well and good, but you need to be able to improvise when your moves don't quite work out." Then he gave an evil smile. "Like this. Rattata, Hyper fang, go for the face. And if it tries that sand thing again, stop being such a damn wimp and go straight through! It's sand, isn't it, not fire!" Rattata rolled her eyes, then gave Sandshrew a very unfriendly wink before jumping forwards again.
