[Best Veteran March/May 2011] A new professor in town - Kanto Adventure PG13

Thanks for being patient with me:) I hope to do another post tomorrow!

Sam and James slowly entered the town called Fuschia City. "So, James...there's this place I heard of...its called the Safari Zone. I was thinking about going while I'm in Kanto...want to go?" Sam asked. "Sure. Sounds like fun." James replied with a smile. It had been a good day. They had made it down quickly from the Cycling Road. Their day was still young, so they decided to take a quick detour. The Safari Zone was a popular tourist location. That was their location for today.

"Sure I heard we're only allowed to take one Pokemon in with us. I can't leave Munchlax so I've got no choice. Who are you taking? I really want to find a Tangela because I need a grass type. What Pokemon are you looking for?" James asked to Sam as the two boys walked towards the park in the north.

Leaving all his pokemon at the gate, Sam figured Vulpix'd be really handy. "I"ll take Vulpix." Sam said, taking the ball off his belt. "You still didn't say what you want..." James said. "Oh, right. I hope I can find a Dratini...but I heard from this guy none of them have been sighted...its breeding season. So I'm looking for whatever." Sam said.

"Okay then well I suppose we should head to the deep parts. Because I heard thats where you find the rare Pokemon!" Said James the pair and their former baby Pokemon began to head towards the depths of the Safari Zone.

They hadn't gone far when Sam noticed two pokemon. A Tangela and a Venonat. "James! A Tangela!" Sam said. "I know. Let's go!" James said, having Munchlax move out. "Vulpix! You too!" Sam said as the two pokemon turned to face them. "Vulpix! Hit them with Hypnosis!" Sam said. Vulpix released the energy that put opponents to sleep. Venonat was hit, but Tangela wasn't...

"Munchlax use Zen Headbutt on the Venonat!" Commanded James to his graceful fighter. Munchlax's head turned purple he then lowered it and ran towards the asleep Venonat. But then Tangela used Growth and grew bigger. Munchlax smashed into her but only succeeded in hurting himself. Then Venonat awoke from his sleep and stood behind Tangela; ready for battle.

"Okay! Vulpix! Use Roar!" Sam said. Vulpix roared at the opponents, who started running in circles out of fear. "Perfect! Now use Ember while roaring!" Sam yelled. Vulpix roared again, but flames came this time. They were faster and stronger than usual, and quickly injured the opponents, who calmed down as a result. "Now! Hypnosis again!" Sam yelled. Vulpix's eyes changed color and this time, Tangela fell asleep.

"Munchlax use Lick on Tangela while shes asleep!" Munchlax ran over to Tangela then licked her right in the face waking her up in the process. This annoyed Tangela and she flailed one of her vines at Munchlax. But he dodged it and it hit Vulpix across the face.

"VUUULLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIXXXXXXXXX!" Vulpix roared, shooting more and more flames at the Tangela. "Vulpix! Calm DOWN!" Sam yelled. Vulpix slowly calmed down, dealing huge damage to both opponents. "Hm...use Hypnosis!" Sam said. Vulpix put both opponents to sleep this time, doing more work than before.

They both awoke and this time Vulpix was put asleep because of Venonat's Sleep Powder. For the time being it was down to Munchlax. "Munchlax use Metronome!" James exclaimed. Munchlax's fingers turned bright white he then rocked them back and forth. Until he opened his mouth and released a line of fire towards the two wild Pokemon; he was using Flamethrower! The fire engulfed the two Pokemon and left them rolling on the floor to eliminate the flames.

"Vulpix!" Sam yelled. Vulpix, being hit quickly by a vine whip attack, woke up. "Use Ember on your tail!" Sam said, preparing to use James's combo again. Vulpix lit its tail again, ready to go. "Let's do this! Charge and use Tail Whip!" Sam said. Vulpix quickly charged and used the flames to boost its flames and hit both opponents, causing more flames. "Now! Get behind Venonat...!" Sam said, a little too late. Venonat had used confusion to lift Vulpix into the air. Struggling around, Vulpix started crying. "Aww...little Vulpix calm down. Don't let the mean little Venonat put you down. Use Ember on it!" Sam said. Calming down, Vulpix used the flaming attack on its opponent, who started flailing about. "Good! Now put her down with Hypnosis!" Sam said. Vulpix put its opponent to sleep again. "James! Now!" Sam said.

"Munchlax use Amnesia!" James called out to his baby Pokemon. He then started to look dumb and walked around in circles for a few seconds. Sam had been staring at Munchlax wondering what James was up to.

"James what are you doing!?" Sam screamed in frustration at his friend and partner. There was a perfect time to finish a battle and James goes and makes his Pokemon go all well dumb.

"Well Amnesia has a effect of making Munchlax unable to remember his moves. But makes Munchlax much stronger. Well he has Metronome which is random so it will work. Munchlax use Metronome!" Munchlax fingers turned a bright white colour. He wiggled them back and forth until he was covered in electricity and he started to run towards Venonat; Munchlax was using Volt Tackle. The electricity covered Munchlax smashed into Venonat knocking him out in the process; this left him susceptible to capture.

"Great! Now I can give you a hand. Just tell me when. I'll have Vulpix use Hypnosis to aid your capture!" Sam said, as he gave Vulpix the hand signal for Hypnosis. Vulpix's eyes turned purple once more, this time putting Venonat under once more. "Go for it!" Sam said encouragingly.

"Tang gela!" Screamed the Tangela. It slapped one of it's vine across Munchlax's face; this angered James' baby Pokemon.

"Munchlax use Zen Headbutt!" Munchlax's head the turned purple; he lowered his head and ran towards Tangela. Munchlax was getting ever closer to Tangela.

"Tang gela Tang!" Tangela screeched. Tangela grabbed Munchlax with her vines and slammed him onto the floor.

"Munchlax use Lick!" Because Munchlax was close to Tangela he got up and licked her across the face with her huge tongue. She fell to the floor with static running through her. Sam and James then looked at each other before winking. Then the pair both pulled out Pokeballs. Then simultaneously shouted.

"GO POKEBALL!" Both of the balls engulfed the targeted Pokemon and they began to shake...........

The road to recovery is paved with injections

Warren was in a bad mood. That in itself wasn't particularly special, since Warren was almost always in a bad mood. What made it different this time was that he had a reason. When they'd arrived in Fuschia, Malcolm had marched Warren straight to the doctor, who had given him a tetanus shot for the gashes on his palms, injected an antidote for Beedrill's venom, taken a blood sample, put him on a drip for five hours and also given him a general "pick-me-up" concoction of sugar and vitamins, for the shock. That, of course, had come in the form of an injection as well. On the plus side, his head hadn't needed stitches and the doctor had prescribed him some heavy-duty pain-killers, so although Warren was in a bad mood, he was too spaced out to even complain about it. The fact that Malcolm kept asking stupid question didn't help, though.
"So when the Pokeball exploded, there was red and blue light? Both colours?" Warren groaned in annoyance, leaning back in his seat in the doctor's waiting room.
"Yes, it was both colours. But why the hell does it matter?" Malcolm sighed.
"Well, I'm a student in pokeball technology, so I can begin to piece together what's happened."
"And?"
"Well, you understand how a Pokeball works, right? It's a conversion from matter to energy when the pokemon is captured or recalled, and from energy to matter when the pokemon is released. Now, due to some pretty awful timing, that Grimer's thunderbolt hit the pokeball just as an energy to matter conversion was taking place. The electrical energy would have interfered hugely with the conversion, though how exactly I can't say." Warren blinked a few times at Malcolm's mini-lecture. It made sense...kind of.
"So if the energy was converting...what happened to it?" Warren slurred, quite proud that he'd managed to formulate and vocalize anything in this state. Malacolm sighed.
"I don't know. There are very few precendents for this sort of predicament, and I don't know what happened in any of them. If you want, I could do some research." Warren frowned at the unexpected generosity, but nodded gratefully.
"That would be good, thanks." He yawned. "For now, though, I think I just need some sleep." Warren pulled himself to his feet and made for the door, but a voice called from behind him,
"Warren Simmons?" Cursing, the teenager spun around. The doctor was standing there with a chart in his left hand and yet another needle in his right.
"We've analyzed your blood test and it seems you've picked up a slight infection, probably from the Grimer you mentioned. They're highly toxic so its not surprising, what with you getting your palms skinned. Anyway, it won't be any problem, but we need to give you the antibiotics as soon as possible." Warren's eyes bulged at the thought of more needles.
"Hey, your fly's undone!" he called on a sudden brainwave and the doctor looked down. By the time he looked up again, the door was swinging shut and him and Malcolm were alone in the room.

(lol. eevee is taking on a pokemon nearly 10 levels above it).

"Okay, Sean. Are you ready to start?" Danny questioned, looking at Sean just waiting to see Eevee's fire evolution. He did not remember looking back in the Pokemon guide for this, but he couldn't just look now as he wanted to see it up close. "Yeah. I'm ready." Sean's eyes were focusing in, waiting for Danny to let his Pokemon out, it was going to be a good one. Danny lowered his head a little bit, and put his arm to his pocket, reaching for the PokeBall. "Great. Come on out, Flareon!" he took out the ball from his pocket, and threw it across. "Ooooh, Flareon..." Sean thought to himself for a second. It sounded like a cool name, especially the 'Flare' part of it which shown how much fire power it has within it. So, as the ball hit the ground, out broke the red fox with soft red fur, and cream red hair, neck and tail. It had black, small eyes, like Eevee. Sean looked at it brightly, as he was fascinated to see what it could actually do while in action. "Whoa... that is cool." Sean commented while smiling, but he had something better than a regular Pokemon on his hands that was sure would impress Danny. "Now, let me show you my Eevee. Come on out, Eevee!" Sean threw out his PokeBall also, as it slammed to the ground. Danny wasn't expecting what was coming, he was just expecting a plain old Eevee. But once Eevee had slipped from the PokeBall, it's soft, silver coat had glimmered around it. "Wow dude..." Danny was speechless, as he had never saw anything like it. "That's a good Eevee you got there. You're really lucky to have got a shiny." Sean could tell that he was impressed, by his face, his voice, tone, everything. "Now then, let's get this battle started! I can tell it's gunna be a good one." Danny smiled at Sean, with him doing the same, and nodding in return. "Yeah. Let's get started."

So there it was, Sean and Danny had took their places on the stage, aswell as Eevee and Flareon. Eevee's coat was shining with cleanliness and grace. Flareon's fur was looking as if it bristled, as it's heat on its coat could not be touched due to massively high temperature. Yet out of both of these two Pokemon, the Pokemon ahead by far was Flareon as it not only had a type, but it was so many levels higher than Eevee and had lots more experience in battle. Also, Eevee only had one move that could attack, which Flareon also had and also had one other move, which was a fire type move, so Sean better had watch out if he was going to put up a good fight, he was going to have to play it tactically. Who was going to strike first? Well, since Danny could see that Eevee wasn't necessarily the best Pokemon out there, even though it was a shiny, he thought he'd give ti a turn or two to see what it could hold. So, having said that, Sean started off with a move that would seriously weaken Flareon. "Eevee! Use Sand Attack!" the move that Sean would use at the start of any battle for the fact that once the opponent attacked, then it was more likely to miss. Eevee got up on its four legs, and opened its mouth, gathering small particles of sand inside its mouth. Then once there was enough, Eevee shot out the sand right across the arena, in a stragiht line. This then ended up getting inside Flareon's eyes, giving Sean that small advantage so far, though this would not stop Flareon's attacking power so he had still better look out.

Flareon shook its head, some of the sand that got contact with the fur was all shaken off, but still had affected Flareon's eyesight. When Flareon was done shaking all the grains of sand of its fur, it got back into position just like Eevee did and the next command was yet to be given. This time, since Danny had got his word cut out for him, he was going to make an attack next. However, just like Sean, he was going to start off by weakening Eevee without using damage. Though Eevee also had this move so Sean could use it too. They both had almost the same attacks, since Flareon is one evolved form of Eevee. Danny then had confirmed his choice, and made a command. "Use Tail Whip, Flareon!" immediately, even after the Sand Attack, Flareon was listening very well and had jumped right up, about to run. Sean was not going to do anything about it, because it was quite likely to miss. Even if it did hit, Sean knew that Tail Whip was not the worst of attacks and wouldn't have much effect. In that moment, Flareon had then ran off at intense speed, in the right driection. Then as Flareon was just close to Eevee, Flareon had flipped up and slapped Eevee across the face with its creamy, fluffy tail. This had not much effect, but Eevee seemed to have been sweating a bit.

After just two turns, still damage was yet to be dealt. Though there was being some action in the battle, as both Pokemon were getting weaken by strategies, and they weren't going to stop there. The fact that Flareon was Eevee's evolution made this more difficult for both of them, as whichever move they would chose, the other person would just repeat it. Yet it was still going Sean's way, as he did start off using Sand Attack which gave Danny less chance of making any of his attacks miss. However, Danny used Tail Whip which weakened Eevee's defenses slightly. Sean was going to give it some more time before he'd start to attack, and see what would happen after a little more strategies, so he started to command. "Use Tail Whip also!" even after Flareon using it, Sean thought that the good idea was to copy Danny's moves as they would get him where he was. Eevee nodded in reply, and started to brush its foot on the ground. As it got faster, Eevee then concentrated harder on Flareon, then finally, Eevee sprinted across the battlefield, jumping higher as it got closer to Flareon. Once Eevee was close enough, Eevee leapt up, and slapped Flareon right across the face, just as Flareon did a second ago. And just the same, Flareon was on its feet as it was taking breathes as the slap was quite sudden. There was still no damage done yet though.

There was still no damage done in this battle, despite how many turns have gone by. Whoever was going to start to attack first was the one who was going to get in the lead, but Sean was more likely to strike because his Eevee was in a good status, whereas Danny's Flareon had been affected by Sand Attack. Still, even though Flareon had bad eyesight, one attack would automatically put Danny in the lead as Flareon is miles stronger than Eevee due to its level and that it happens to be one of Eevee's powerful evolutions. They were now both thinking the same thing, that there was enoughn weakness done so far and it was time to start using damage. Sean was going to try countering any move that Danny would use as he knew that Eevee wasn't very used to battling and needed to be more safe, so he had a plan in mind. Since there was no command done yet, Danny was going to go for it and start striking with one of Flareon's moves. "Use Tackle!" Eevee also had this move, so Sean could use it also, although it wouldn't do as much damage. Flareon started to charge on across the battlefield, quite fastly, so Sean was going to quickly implement his plan before it would be to late. "Eevee! Quickly use your Sand Attack!" just as Sean had said something, Eevee was listening and started to gather up sand inside its mouth. Flareon was approaching very fast and was so close to hitting, but Eevee shot out the grains of sand from its mouth that caught Flareon's eyes. This had not only stopped Flareon's attack, but Flareon's eyes appeared lighter and blurrier, this was a bad sign for Danny.

Flareon's eyes were really odd looking now. The previous Sand Attack used by Eevee had been so sudden and harsh, Flareon's eyes were so badly affected that even the appearence of its eyes was terrible. Danny had never seen something like this before, even after all his time being an evolution brother. "What the... that was some Sand Attack..." but Sean took this to his advantage and let the battle carry on. This time, since Danny had made an attemt to use Tackle, Sean was going to do the same. Only thing was, that if Sean tried to make an attack then Danny would also try to use Sand Attack if Danny had similar moves to Eevee. If this did happen, then Eevee could possibly be in the same state as Flareon. Sean had still made up his mind, and used Tackle as it was now time to keep using Tackle until he won. "Use your Tackle!" Eevee was very energetic at the moment and very competetive, so Eevee jumped up and brushed its white, shiny foot on the ground. Several seconds later, Eevee was then prepared and sped off at amazing speed. Flareon was too busy looking around its area, in total blindness and did not notice a thing. Instantly, Eevee came right up from once side of the battlefield to the other, and Eevee had took a hard hit at Flareon. This was not such a hard hit, as Eevee was slightly off, though Flareon wasn't suspecting it and it was a nice shot and hit from Eevee. A great start to attacking.

Even though Eevee had made the first physical attack, Flareon was still in great condition, and Sean knew that it was going to take a whole lot more attacks if he was going to win. Not only that, but he was going to have to get a whole lot luckier. Danny was starting to stop going easy on him and going harder, regardless of what condition Flareon was in. Sean knew that Danny would take the first attack, but before Danny did so, he looked at Flareon who was still trying to figure out what was happening. Its eyes were darker coloured, as if they were gray. This was showing that Flareon was going to have bad trouble with accuracy, and using any attack would be a bad thing to do while Flareon was in this state, but since it was a battle, Danny had to do something. "Flareon! Try your best to see Eevee and use Tackle!" it was a risky thing to do, but Danny was convinced that if Eevee could do it, then Flareon could do it a whole lot better. Flareon could still listen, and heard the command fine, so Flareon saw something that looked like a white blob of cotton, which was actually Eevee. This was a lucky breakthrough, and Flareon was just about ready to take off into great speed. Sean had no clue what was coming, so he just hoped that the attack would not work out as well as it looked. Immediately, Flareon was ready to attack and sprinted off towards Eevee, which looked unlikely. Flareon's speed was rising, as Eevee was just sitting there, looking at Flareon. Sean was not going to do anything about it, becuase he thought that Flareon would miss in the end, he was wrong. Flareon ended up hitting Eevee quite hard, pushing it backwards slightly as the quick charge had blown Flareon harder. Though Eevee was still perfectly well and not harmed so much, and was prepared for it, yet Danny was more ahead than Sean in this battle.

Flareon returned to its original spot, while Eevee got back up off its legs. The last attack was pretty hard and did some damage, so Sean had to watch out, or else the next attack could do even more and put him in the deep red. Danny was pleased with himself, and was sure that he was going to end up winning even after 2 Sand Attacks that strongly corrupted Flareon's sight. Sean only thought of that as a fluke, and that the chances of it happening again were low, and he was looking up towards the battle, rather than running out of confidence. after all, his Eevee had no status on it at all, so he was just going to carry on with what he was already doing. So, the only thing that was going on in Sean's mind, was to keep attacking until he had one, no more weakening. "Use Tackle!" Sean commanded to Eevee, who listened and followed automatically. The thing about Eevee was it was always hyper and perky, so it was always able to listen up to what it has been commanded. Once again, Eevee was swiping its foot against the rubble floor, before taking off on its four feet. Flareon was not paying any attention, it was just on its back, rolling around, trying to get a good sight of things. Danny slapped his forehead, and tried to do something. "Flareon! Look out!" he tried to signal Flareon that Eevee was getting within its area, but this was a bad thing as since Flareon was not sensing the attack, the Tackle would hurt very badly. And that had just happened, when Flareon turned its head to see the moving cotton bud come up so fast and then striking Flareon harshly. This was quite a tough Tackle, and Danny didn't like where it was going for himself, yet it was a good challenge. The Tackle was much better than the last and had done a lot of damage. Sean was getting more and more confident now and he could see victory, but Danny was assuring him that it wasn't that close yet.

Danny loved this battle, and he was rather impressed by the battle so far. "Doing great there!" he commented, as Sean nodded admitting that he was. "But it's gunna take a lot more than that." he continued, truthfully speaking. Yet again, Sean had lots of confidence in Eevee and knew that its potential within battle was strong, and he was going to keep that up. After that Tackle, the battle was still balanced and anybody could still win. Danny was quite a toughie, and was one of the stronger evolution brothers with his powerful Flareon, that he had beaten a whole lot of battles against people who had came across him. This was quite a different battle for him, as Eevee was a lower level compared to his Flareon and all the attacks caused were strong, so he was going to put an end to it, defying the fact that Flareon's eyesight was terrible. "Flareon! Use Tackle!" Flareon listened up very well, and got up off the ground, starting to scrape its feet against the ground to boost its speed. Sean was checking out the angle of its legs, which was not aiming correctly at Eevee. This was great for him, but Danny did not know this and he needed to be quiet or else he could encourage it to look better and then get a direct hit. "Go!" as Flareon was getting just about enough of a boost, Danny let it set itself off now, that just happened and it was quite a fast speed too. However, it was tininting its running slightly, as the arena was getting brighter so it couldn't tell Eevee from a spotlight. Eevee was sitting there, not seeing Flareon going its way. Sean didn't have to say or do anything, becuase Flareon would miss Eevee by a longshot. That just happened, as Flareon jumped up so high, and hitting a spotlight on the wall. This gave some recoil damage on Flareon too. Sean made a hand gesture showing that he was proud of Eevee, and smiled deeply. Danny shook his head slowly though in dissappointment, but he was going to try for one more time, despite getting hurt when jumping onto the wall. "Okay, Flareon. Concentrate really hard on Eevee and try again with Tackle!" it was still in the place where it had ended up bashed against the wall, so it was close enough to Eevee. So then, Flareon rushed off again in the right direction this time. Although Sean was confident it would miss, Eevee couldn't see Flareon since Eevee was facing the other way, so since Flareon was rushing so fast, Eevee was struck out of suprise. This attack was a real tough one after the previous one because Eevee did not see anything coming at all then, but Eevee was still up and could so very well in battle, Sean believed that.

After all this excitement, the end was near. But for who? Each Pokemon was quite weakened and nearly off, but the Tackle that Flareon had done had done quite bad damage. On the other hand, this did not stop Eevee from battling, Eevee was still stood up, waiting to be commanded. As for Flareon, who was still barely sighted, it was lying on the floor with its arms flat out across the space. This was a sign that perhaps Eevee was going to win, as Flareon was lazy and not as determined. Sean totally believed in Eevee, after all the fighting he had done for it and knew that in the end of the day that it was totally worth using in battle. Though he needed to make an attack soon, before Danny would, since that could put a dent in his chances, so he was going to try again, hoping this attack would be really good. "Nearly there now, Eevee! Just use Tackle again!" it was his plan to use Tackle until the end, so he would end up winning. Then again, Flareon could put a halt in the attack by stopping it with Tail Whip or Sand Attack. That didn't occur to him, but neither did it to Danny. Without a second to lose, Eevee started to get ready to shoot off, both its feet were brushing against the rocky ground and then off it went at a violent speed. It was jumping higher than normal, and travelling a lot faster than normal. Flareon still couldn't seek out where Eevee was, it could only hear fast running and speed. So, as Flareon shook its head without any action, Eevee took a leap onto Flareon without a trace. The shock attack had caused Danny to gasp as he couldn't see how fast Eevee was going. Now he was getting the feeling that he might not win after all.

"This is exciting. What a match this is turning out to be!" Danny was impressed and smiled with his eyes closed, as if he was up to something. Sean took it nicely and smiled, whilkst thinking that he must almost be at the victory. Eevee was still ready for anything, whether it was a command or an attack. However, there was one attack that Eevee didn't have, whilst Flareon does. an attack that's more powerful than Tackle, another type than Tackle, an attack that has a side effect to it. If this was used, then that would probably put an end to the game, making Danny the winner. Sean knew what the attack was, but he didn't know that Flareon had it. Danny thought that in this situation, it was time to stop going easy on him and time to use it. So, Danny opened his eyes. "Looks like I'll have to use the big one. Flareon, use Ember!" this made Sean worried, and he knew that he had to do something. Tail Whip wouldn't be able to stop it, nor would Sand Attack. It was too soon to think, as Flareon was already gathering up a flame inside its mouth, that was then shot out into the distance. This time, in the right direction. Sean gasped and panicked as the ball got closer, but he had to remain calm and do something. There was only one thing he could do, and with Eevee's stealth, it could work. "Quickly, Eevee! Jump!!" he shouted it so that Eevee got the message. It was waiting for a few seconds as the flare got colser, then, as Eevee saw it coming right up, Eevee jumped high off its legs, as if it were a pouncing tiger. The Ember was millimeters away from its foot, until it was getting higher from its jump. Therefore, the Ember had slightly missed, causing no damage to Eevee. Danny cringed as he saw the Ember hit the wall, causing a few flame sparks which did no damage to the wall.

In all this excitement, there could only be one winner, rather than them both. At first, Flareon was the most likely, for nearly being ten levels ahead of Eevee and the event that Eevee was so lucky, so strong and powerful was intriguing to Danny as he had never had such a battle from such a small Pokemon. The shininess was the only thing he noticed that was didfferent about Eevee, there must have been some power to it that Sean had shared with Eevee. Having said all this, Sean completely believed in Eevee never mind its level, just like he would with any of his Pokemon. Although this was not just a battle with a tough Pokemon, it was a battle with one of its tough evolutions, which was supposed to put him off but it just encouraged him more to win. Sean was hoping that this was the last attack of the battle, as it should be enough for him to win. "Eevee! Use Tackle! Try and make it a really good finish!" the word 'finish' got to Danny as it was showing that he was about to lose, but that was his job, to take on a challenge from coming trainers and he had to accept it. BEsides, with Flareon, it was hard to strike with its blurred up eyes. Eevee was getting really prepared, running its paws against the ground, and wagging its tail fastly, showing there was so much energy. Then, finally, Eevee darted off on its four legs, going really fast, showing off glows from its white, shining coat. Flareon was on the floor, looking almost knocked out, so there was not so much danny could get it to do to miss the attack. And before anyone knew it, Eevee took a high jump, and it ended up hitting Flareon, legs first. This attack had completely hurt, and Flareon took no more of it. Unbelievably, after all the believeing from Sean, and encouragement from Danny, the winner of this battle was Eevee.

"Yay! We did it, Eevee! Such a good battle that was. I'm so proud of you." Eevee smiled as Sean commented on it, Sean stroked Eevee's head with his hqand, and Eeevee closed her eyes and smiled. Danny returned his Flareon in dissappointment, yet very impressed with Sean for putting up a great battle which was worth it. After the battle, there was one thing Sean had just remembered, the reward which Danny was just about to give after saying something. "Very nice battle you put up there Sean. Really, I'm impressed. It's probably the best battle I've had in most of my expirience as an Evolution Brother." Danny congratulated him with a thumbs up. Then, Danny reached into his pocket, bringing something out. "And as promised, the reward." a red and orange rock came from his pocket, that looked like a flame. This was pretty cool to Sean, but didn't really know what it could do. "Whoa... what is it?" before Sanny could say anything, Sean wondered what it was. "It's a Fire Stone. Evolves certain Pokemon, like Vulpix, Growlithe, even your Eevee." as Danny explained which Pokemon could evolve from it, he didn't know whether to use it on Growlithe yet. Sean accepted the Fire Stone off Danny and smiled back at him. "Thanks." Danny smiled in return. "No problem, you do deserve it. Hey, your Eevee will make a great Flareon some time. The battling, the shininess, the startegy and stealth." so it was done, Sean was going to use it on Eevee soon, but not now. There could be another Fire Stone somewhere else anyway. So, Sean walked out of the Pokemon Gym, waving goodbye to Danny, shutting the door as Eevee walked out with him.

"That will be *image removed*45 then sir." Warren looked at the girl behind the cash register in the clothing store, a vacant look on his face. Replacing his old kit had seemed obvious at the time, seeing as it had been ripped and splattered with goo during his most recent battle. But now...his new polo shirt and jeans were fine, as was the thick coat, but they didn't feel like they were his. So much had been happening recently and now with Beedrill gone, Warren was losing all sense of who he was.

Leaving the shop in his new clothes, Warren squinted at the heavy rain clouds above. Even the sky seemed to be in mourning. His gaze fell back to street level as a man in khaki shorts and a brown shirt came bounding up, a Venonat sleeping in a net slung over his shoulder.
"What do you want, Malcolm?" he sighed, choosing to gaze around the city rather than look the man in the eye.
"I want to help you, Warren," the ranger replied, "So I've come up with a plan." Warren glanced at him, eyebrows raised.
"Well, I'm going to need a bit of time to do the research," he continued, "And I figured that you'd want a bit of a carefree break from all this stress. So I thought of a way that you could get back to the basics of Pokémon training, without all of this worry that you've had to put up with lately." Warren sighed and looked at the floor.
"If you feel like telling me this plan anytime soon, let me know," he replied, though there wasn't a trace of humour in his voice. Malcolm blinked a few times, his eyes unfocused, then shook his head.
"Right, of course. I was wondering how you would feel about spending a day at the Safari Zone?" Warren looked back at Malcolm. The idea did make sense. A nice, quiet day spent training and catching, with all risk removed.
"Okay, I guess that would be pretty cool," he conceded, nodding. Malcolm grinned, and the two of them set off.

Warren grinned as the Safari Zone's lush habitat rose up around him. With the entrance at his back, he dumped the still snoozing Venonat on the ground as he'd promised Malcolm and wandered into the thick grass. He was sure that catching a rare Pokémon or two would cheer him up, at least a little.
"Cu?" Warren glanced at a small rodent sitting on a rock a few feet away. It wouldn't have been particularly interesting if it hadn't had a large bone clenched in its stubby paws and its face wasn't obscured by a skull. Warren frowned. It wasn't very big...but that skull definitely made it look creepy.
"Alright, let's go, Poliwag!" The tadpole burst from its ball, landing squarely on its feet facing the Cubone. Grinning viciously, it pounded the ground with its tail in excitement. Warren smiled as he remembered Poliwag's first battle. Back then, it had been too playful to even bother fighting, but now it was always up for a scrap. The smile disappeared as Warren realised this. What right did he have to twist Poliwag into a violent battler, for his own gain?
"Poliiiii!" Warren glanced at the tadpole seconds before it smacked into his face. Cubone sniggered, its club still raised from when it had struck Poliwag. Warren looked at the chuckling little scumbag. Morals be damned.
"Water Gun!" he yelled and Cubone barely had time to blink before it was thrown backwards by a jet of water that smacked it in the chest. Rolling head-over-heels several times, it deftly flipped itself back to its feet and beckoned to Poliwag. Poliwag growled and leapt forwards yet again, only to be met with a rock hard skull. The tadpole fell to the ground, winded from the Headbutt and Cubone fell about laughing. Warren gritted his teeth. Weren't Cubone meant to be miserable little whiners? What was this one doing being happy?
"Water Sport!" he shouted in a flash of inspiration and Poliwag spun around, drenching the area with thin splashes of water, not powerful enough to hurt the Lonely Pokémon. Frowning in confusion, Cubone stepped forwards to smack the hell out of Poliwag and stopped. Looking down, it growled as its foot slowly sank further and further into the mud that Poliwag had created, leaving itself a thin bank of hard ground.
"Now, finish it with Water Gun!" Cubone held out its club in desperation as the stream of water rushed over it, breaking up the stream and weakening the attack.
"One last push, Poliwag!" Warren shouted and he was right. With a final thrust, Poliwag blew the bone right out of its owner's hands, then blew its owner right out of the bog. It landed at Warren's feet, unconscious. Grinning, he unclipped a Pokeball and dropped it on the unconscious Cubone's head. With a flash of red light, it was pulled inside and the ball began to shake.

After exiting the Arena and returning Eevee, Sean looked at the sky to notice the change in temperature and darkness. It was officially evening as Sean looked at his watched, so he thought that now was the time to take a break as it was a very long and tiring day he has been through. The last thing he had to eat was his lunch, so he was going to see the nearest cafe to eat there and maybe just chill out for a bit before trying out the next Gym if it was still going to be open. Next to the exit of the Gym that Sean had just walked out of, the queue was longer than before as it was nearer to closing time so the good thing to do was to go to a cafe and eat so he could refresh his energy for another tough battle, and this one was going to be tougher than the last. That was for sure to him. Of course, the smartest thing to do after coming out of a tough battle was to head over to a Pokemon Center and refresh the Pokemon's health so they would be viable for battle again. He never knew, there could be a shock battle up while he takes a break.

So, Sean started to take his walk down Saffron once again, hoping to leave this big city by tomorrrow as he had to move on and move on fast, even though Celadon was just about as big, if not bigger but it was more exciting to him. It looked a whole lot prettier in the night though, with all the bright city lights lighting up the city. Yet getting to the Pokemon Center was pretty hard by walking past all the buildings on the street, some were pink and white just like the Pokemon Center so he had to look more carefully to find it. Then he found the street in which the Pokemon Center was built on. There was not as big buildings on the street and the Pokemon Center was clearly visible to him. It was the biggest building that seemed to light up the city more than in the other cities he ha dbeen past, probably because Saffron was the city of night or something to do with that it lights up in the night, but it doesn't really matter because he could see the Pokemon Center and he was getting closer to it. Then he was there, and he made himself at home as he always was when at a Pokemon Center. Inside, there were different sorts of people, such as gangs ready to battle each other, and just trainers who look typical and are up for a strong battle. Nurse Joy had her hands full with requests to heal up Pokemon, she was running with PokeBalls to each person who requested their Pokemon healed up. She was panting as she was doing this, but some of the people inside didn't seem to want their Pokemon healed up, they were just staying there for the fun of it. So, even though had her hands full, Nurse Joy accepted Sean's request for his Pokemon to be healed up, and he gave her his five PokeBalls.

"Be back in a minute! Take a seat in the waiting room if you would please." she went into the healing room, as Sean walked into the waiting room as it was quite a relaxing place to be. Inside the waiting room there was a few people also waiting for their Pokemon back, or for another reason, so sean was obviously going to have to wait for his Pokemon to return. He took a seat on one of the soft fabric chairs, and thought about what he was going to do in the night. Firstly, he would find a cafe to eat at, so that he could have the energy to battle as much as his Pokemon would too. Afterwards, if the Gym was still open, Sean would go inside and take on the Gym Leader there. The Gym was obviously a Gym now as the one next door to it was an arena instead, not to mention that people were all queueing to go inside. Having said that, the Gym must be a hard one if the arena was. He could not believe his day, with all these battles that meant a lot. First a battle against Diane, then a battle against the shiny Eevee which he caught, then a battle against jealous Callum and then a battle against the Evolution Brother Danny, now he was going to go to the Gym Leader at night, so the battle must be a pretty cool one at the time. Nurse Joy came passing by, giving people their PokeBalls back as they wandered off, leaving him the only one there. And just after a few seconds, she returned once again with his PokeBalls. "Here you are." she passed the balls to him, and he walked out of the room, then the centre. Nurse Joy as always waved him out as she was polite. So now, Sean was going to search for a cafe to eat at, then he was going to the Gym.

The two balls clicked simultaneously, as Sam and James cheered. James had caught his Tangela and Sam had caught a...Venonat. Suddenly realizing he didn't NEED the Venonat, Sam watched as it failed to phase out. He had 5 pokemon. Not six. Oh well. It was all cool. "James! Let's keep going! Our time's going to run out if we don't hurry!" Sam said, remembering where they were. The two boys ran further in.

They hadn't been moving long, when Sam sighted something. A Tauros and a Slowpoke were drinking from a pond. "James...should we?" Sam asked.

James looked across at the two Pokemon before deciding on his answer. "Yeah I'll let Munchlax beat up on Slowpoke while you and Vulpix can do whatever with Tauros." James picked up Munchlax and headed over to the wild Pokemon. Sam did the same. He picked up Vulpix and ran after James and Munchlax.

"TTTTAAAAAAUUUUUUU!" the Tauros yelled. It charged at the two trainers. "Crap. Vulpix! Do it!" Sam said. Vulpix jumped down and its eyes changed colour to purple again. Tauros slowed to a stop and fell asleep. "Now! Ember!" Sam said. Vulpix released flames. Tauros woke up and thrashed around. It had marks all over it. Sam guessed it was burned.

"Okay Munchlax use Zen Headbutt on the Slowpoke!" Commanded James to his beloved baby and partner Pokemon; Munchlax's head turned the purple colour that James was so used to. Munchlax then began to run towards the Pokemon that James had pointed out to him. As Munchlax got ever closer the Slowpoke still stood motionless. But as Munchlax got ever closer; Slowpoke's heads turned purple too and he started to use Zen Headbutt. The two clashed in the middle and knocked each other to the floor.

"TAUROS!" the pokemon yelled. It charged at Vulpix again. "Hm...thing isn't using Horn Attack yet. That burn's causin' it trouble. Vulpix. Jump on it." Sam said. Suddenly, he realized he had Venonat..."Vulpix return!" Sam said, as Vulpix lit up the ground around Tauros, who was madder than ever. "Venonat!" Sam said. His little bug type pokemon came out, ready to go. "Okay, Venonat! Use Poisonpowder!" Sam said, instantly remembering one of Venonat's attacks. Venonat released purple powder at Tauros, who started coughing. "Good work, Venonat! Now use Confusion!" Sam said. Venonat lifted the pokemon into the air as it started to struggle with him. "Okay then. Let it down...the hard way!" Sam said, smiling now. Venonat quickly released the energy and the Tauros fell to the ground, cracking it. "Okay! Good work!" Sam said, turning to check on James...

And James was doing okay. "Munchlax use Tackle!" Munchlax began to run towards the Slowpoke in an attempt to bash into the Slowpoke. But before Munchlax could get that close the Slowpoke looked up and opened its mouth. Then a shot of water flew out of his mouth. And it was closing towards Munchlax.

"Munchlax dodge it then use Metronome!" Commanded James to his teal coloured Pokemon. As the water homed in on Munchlax, Munchlax swiftly moved to one side and dodged the attack from the wild Slowpoke. Munchlax then began to wiggle his fingers from side to side. Then suddenly Munchlax's fist turned a shining white colour and he was using Focus Punch! Munchlax ran in and punched the Slowpoke right in the face knocking him to the floor in the process.

Sam knew he couldn't get shown up. "Go Venonat! Use your Supersonic attack!" Sam said. Venonat suddenly released a weird sound and Tauros started flailing about. "Good work! Now! Tackle it!" Sam said. Venonat charged, hitting Tauros squarly in the head. Tauros fell to the ground and flailed about there. "Good work, Venonat! Now, use your Disable attack!" Sam said, realizing that Tauros was trying to use Horn Attack. Venonat's eyes glowed white, then Tauros's eyes did. "Now! Once more! Confusion!" Sam said. Venonat tossed Tauros at some nearby rocks, which caused him to become unconfused. "Crap...." Sam said. "TAU!" the Tauros yelled. It charged. "What could it be using...oh. That's right. Tackle or Rage." Sam said. Tauros hit Venonat, who flew backwards. "Hm...time for some creativity!" Sam said. "Venonat!" Venonat screeched, hoping Sam would hurry up. "Go for it! Use Confusion to make yourself fly!" Sam said. Venonat started gliding across the room. Tauros charged at it, but Venonat quickly glided above it. "Now tackle it!" Sam said. Venonat charged, hitting the Tauros. "What do ya think of that, James?" Sam asked, challenging James to do better.

"Sam this isn't a competition calm down buddy. Be calm and use your inner focus. Once you master that you will just get better and better. Anyways Munchlax wait for Slowpoke to come to you. If you wait good things will always come to you." Munchlax sat on the floor and started to wait for Slowpoke to attack. And alas Munchlax's waitings came true. Slowpoke moved ever closer. And ran at Munchlax trying to use Tackle. " Munchlax move to the side and trip Slowpoke up then use Lick!" Munchlax waited for Slowpoke attack. Then Munchlax moved to the side and stuck out his foot and tripped up the wild Slowpoke. Munchlax then bent over and with his long floppy tongue licked the Slowpoke across the face. A sour look came across Slowpoke's face he then started to roll along the floor in paralysis. James looked at Sam and smiled.

"Good point. That thing looks very injured. Munchlax's lick attack's quite a pain...better watch out for it. Anyway. Charge, Venonat! Hit it again!" Sam exclaimed, as Venonat flew in, hitting Tauros. Tauros's disability had ended, by the look of things, as it charged and knocked Venonat towards a lake, making it fall. Venonat started firing powder everywhere, making the air nearby very poisonous. Sam had an idea. "Venonat! Get Tauros and toss him into that poison!" Sam said. Venonat pulled the pokemon there, crashing it into the ground. "Tau!" the pokemon exclaimed in pain. "Good job, Venonat! Now, hit it one more time with a flying tackle!" Sam said. Venonat flew in and hit Tauros quickly. "Good job. Now finish it! Use Confusion to crush it!" Sam said. Venonat wasted no time. It pulled Tauros into the air, and pulled all its energy into one place. Tauros screeched in pain. Sam noted how injured Venonat was and returned it. "Go Vulpix!" Sam said. "Vul?" Vulpix said, looking around. Tauros obviously had found the energy to charge, as it went face first for Vulpix. "Hit it!" Sam said, as Vulpix released Hypnosis and then Ember. "Tau...ros." Tauros said, falling asleep and hitting the ground. "Should I...?" Sam asked James.

"I don't know buddy it's up to you but anyways I need Munchlax to do some more battling for me! Munchlax once again sit on the floor and wait for the Slowpoke to use his move!" Commanded James to Munchlax; Munchlax began to sit on the floor and he waited for Slowpoke to come and attack him. The Slowpoke then opened its mouth and fired a line of water towards Munchlax. "Now Munchlax use Defence Curl to block off the water!" James coolly and calmly said to his partner. Munchlax then turned white and curled into a circle. As the water came towards Munchlax he waited and all the water skimmed off into a different direction. Munchlax then got up and waited for James' next command. "Now Munchlax use Zen Headbutt!" Munchlax's head turned the usual purple colour and started to run towards Slowpoke. Slowpoke looked dumbstruck as Munchlax's head smashed into him and almost knocked the pink Pokemon out. James looked at Sam and waited.

"Assuming you're done...why not just try to catch it? I'll throw now! Poke Ball!" Sam said, tossing the red and white ball at Tauros, who was still asleep. Tauros was quickly enveloped in the ball, and it started shaking.

Whilst the ball was shaking James was still rounding off his battle. "Munchlax use Metronome and finish this off!" James commanded to Munchlax. Munchlax then began to wiggle his fingers. Then suddenly Munchlax started to use Thunderbolt. A bolt of thunder came from Munchlax's cheeks and homed in on Slowpoke. The thunder then covered Slowpoke and knocked out the wild Pokemon completely. James then picked up Munchlax and turned to see Tauros' Pokeball shaking.

@ILAYM - Congratulations Warren caught a Level 11 Cubone

@Goodies - Congratulations Munchlax grew to Level 14

@Sasuneuchiha - Congratulations Sam caught a Level 12 Tauros

Outside, they immediatly headed for the pokecenter to heal their pokemon. With his team in hand, Sam headed to the beach. It wasn't long after that James arrived as well. "What's up?" James asked. "Nothin' much. I just love these beaches...actually...I've got a question. You wanna battle?" Sam asked. "Why the sudden urge to battle?" James asked. "I remembered how you beat me last time...this is my chance to avenge that loss. Ready?" Sam asked. "I guess. Go Munchlax!" James said, having Munchlax enter the arena. "Okay...one baby pokemon for another! Vulpix!" Sam said, throwing out his own pokemon. Vulpix entered, ready for its first ever match against Munchlax. "Hm...Let's go! Hypnosis!" Sam said, as Vulpix's eyes turned purple.

"Munchlax use Odor Sleuth to avoid it!" James said calmly. He was now maybe the more experienced and better of the two. He was much calmer and more patient with his Pokémon and this was massive advantage for James. Maybe Sam had to learn a bit more. As Vulpix tried to put Munchlax to sleep Munchlax's eyes turned a horrid purple colour and they began to shake. This scared Vulpix and Vulpix cowered to the floor.

"Now Munchlax use Lick!" Commanded James; and once again there wasn't a flicker in his voice he was going to keep calm and patient. And so were his Pokémon. Munchlax then ran towards Vulpix. Vulpix was still cowering to the floor and was an easy target for Munchlax. Munchlax then let out his big floppy tongue and wiped it across Vulpix's face. Vulpix then began to roll along the floor in both shock and hurt. James simply smiled at Sam.

Sam sat there wondering. Why was it that James always won? Sam quickly thought of why. James was so calm...not like he was. Sam was always on edge. Is that why James always won? It had to be. Just cause James had a higher level pokemon out now...he could still win. Time to take this slowly. "Vulpix. You alright?" Sam asked, calming down. "V...vul!" Vulpix said, weakly, but with confidence. "Okay. Ready? We're gonna show them! Ember, but not on Munchlax. Use it right in front of him, then jump over him." Sam said. "What're you planning...?" James asked. Sam was playing on the fact that Munchlax was still a baby pokemon. Everything had to go perfectly, though, or this wouldn't work at all. Vulpix completed part one without a hitch. The flames were in place, and rather large. Vulpix was on the other side of Munchlax, and completely ready. "Okay, Vulpix. He used his scaryness on us...let's use ours. Roar!" Sam said. Vulpix stepped forward and roared like crazy. Sam's plan was on the dot. Munchlax backed up and ran. Big mistake. Right into his laid trap, the flames. "Laaaax!" Munchlax yelled. "Good work, Vulpix. And James? Your thoughts are on your face...I can tell you think I should calm down. How's that for calm?"

"That's not being calm. That's being strategic. I know calm and I know you. I know you don't want to be calm. If you try being calm it will all come back and haunt you. Whereas I am naturally calm. When I try to be like you all ecstatic and the likes things came back and bit me. Now I am calm and it works. You are ecstatic and it works. Now it's just me and Munchlax make a good team. Now let's get this battle back to its battling state. Munchlax use Metronome!" James had finally finished his talk with Sam. And throughout this chat James remained calm and patient with James and the two Pokémon. Munchlax then listened to James' commands and stated to wiggle his fingers. Then Munchlax's hand became covered in electricity. Munchlax then ran over and began to use Thunderpunch on Vulpix. Munchlax then ran over and punched Vulpix in the face knocking him over. Vulpix then wiggled around on the floor obviously hit with paralysis.

"You say you're a great team. Yet you don't say anything about us...let's see if we can teach you. Go! Ember!" Sam said, watching Vulpix shoot flames at Munchlax, who obviously felt it. "Good...now stand up. Slowly, so you don't hurt yourself. Don't let that electricity get to you...hmm? It looks like...yeah. I think it is..." Sam said, suddenly smiling. Vulpix's pelt was still shocking from the hit. Time to use Munchlax's strength against it. "Do your best to charge and use Tail Whip on Munchlax." Sam said. Vulpix prodded over as quickly as it could, striking Munchlax on the face powerfully. Munchlax rolled back and it was now sparking. "Did you just...?" James asked. "Yes, I did. I used the static electiricity to shock Munchlax into paralysis as well with its own strength. The electiricity is all but dead now, though, so you can't use it on me. Unfortunately, it looks like Vulpix is still paralyzed. Good job, Vulpix!" Sam said happily.

"Hmm…. Bad move, Sam, bad move I'm afraid. This battle is close to being over. I could finish now with a snap of my fingers. Yet I won't. I'll let Vulpix survive just to see how long she can." James burst out laughing and then smiled at Sam before carrying on. "Munchlax use Zen Headbutt buddy!" Commanded James he said it as cool and as calm as ever. Munchlax's head then turned purple. He began to run at Vulpix. Munchlax then smashed his head into Vulpix. Vulpix feel to the floor and was almost knocked out. Munchlax then stood over Vulpix and pulled back his head ready to finish the battle. "No Munchlax I don't want to finish this yet. Just wait a little longer buddy," said James he was so patient with Munchlax and waited for him to come back to his side.

"Sheesh you're sure of yourself. Are you sure about that? Let's do this! Use Hypnosis!" Sam said. Munchlax was having trouble moving now, so the attack hit easily. Munchlax was asleep now. "Hm...Vulpix'll have trouble moving now, so I don't see how you intend to win." James said cooly. "Maybe. Maybe you'll see it better after this. Light it up! Flame Ring!" Sam said. "Flame Ring?" James asked. He was quickly shown what it meant, as Vulpix shot ember all around the sleeping form of Munchlax. "Good work, Vulpix! Now hit it!" Sam said. Vulpix shot flame at flame. Sam was sure of this attack. The fire went straight through, hitting Munchlax and waking him. Munchlax ran around for a few seconds. Bad move. It ran through the ring of flames, causing it to surprise it self even more, hitting the ground. "Best clear this up. Vulpx, you good for this?" Sam asked. "Vul." Vulpix said very weakly. Sam could tell it was injured. He's have to wrap this up fast. "Roar! Blow those flames back!" Sam said. Vulpix released a huge roar, blowing all the flames back on Munchlax, who took quite a bit of damage.

"Okay then, Munchlax. It's time to finish this. Sam you and Vulpix put up a good fight but Munchlax is a tincy bit too strong for you. Now Munchlax use Tackle!" Munchlax began to run towards Vulpix in an attempt to do some bashing. "Now Munchlax use Lick!" Munchlax was still running towards Vulpix. As he was running his tongue popped out and he both bashed into and licked Vulpix. Vulpix fell to the floor and was knocked out. Munchlax and James had won the first leg of this battle.

There was lots of cafes and restaurants that Sean could go to take a break at, but they were all so flashy, Sean could not decide which one to visit to. Then again, he did need to hurry up whichever one he was going to, as if he got a move on then he could get to the Gym before it closes. Yet it looked as if it would not close for a while as even the Gym itself were lighted up with flourescent colours. He could see people standing outside eating, sitting on the benches outside of the Gym. This gave Sean an idea to not go to a cafe, but to find a takeaway instead. Sean carried on through the long path, past lots of buildings and places that looked as bright as each other. It was pretty hard to tell a cafe from a takeaway, since so many of them only said cafe and there wasn't really a takeaway to be found. However, there was one restaurant that looked as if it were a take away, since it was a Fish & Chips restaurant. This got Sean's attention, and he changed his direction over to the restaurant that was quite crowded, as the rest of the city was. Once Sean got there, he could see people walking out with chips wrapped in a newspaper, or in a cone or a box. There was still a line that Sean had to wait in as he arrived, so he just stood with his arms folded, waiting for the line to clear. Luckily Sean could see the kitchen, where people were rushing around to get all the orders taken care of. This meant that he had not long to wait as each minute had gone by, a person had walked out of the line, with chips in their hand. Eventually, he was about to be served. "Hello. Takeaway?" the man who was behind the desk had his hands on the table. "Yes please. One portion of chips with ketchup squirted over it. Can it be in a cone?" the man behind the desk was taking notes, as the worker stood behind him. "Yes sure. Ten PokeDollars please." Sean got his wallet out, and took ten of his PokeDollars out to give to the man. The lady behind him then went to the deep fryer next to the waiter, as she scooped golden chips into the white cone. She then shook the bottle of salt and vinegar over the chips, which looked lovely. And finally, she squirted the chips with a bottle of red tomato ketchup, adding a plastic fork to eat with. "Thanks!" Sean took the chips off the lady and he walked out of the restaurant, as the waiter had served other people.

Sean was walking over back to the Gym, where less people were than before, which was good as he got a place on a bench where not many people were. They Gym was really lit up now, as teenagers walked inside and outside, up for a challenge against the Gym Leader. Sean was expecting it to be quite tough, and he needed to decide which Pokemon he was going to use. Firstly, he sat down on the black bench next to the neon-lit Gym, as other teen Pokemon trainers were sitting on bars or on other benches. As Sean were sitting down on the bench, eating each golden chip from the cone, Sean was thinking of what Pokemon to use. After all day, Growlithe was going to be exhausted so he was going to keep it out of battle still. While he was still thinking, a girl had came out of the Gym smiling and cheering with excitement. Sean took the impression that it wouldn't be that hard, and it would be very possible to win. She then took a seat at the bench, drinking some water out of a bottle. "I won!" she told him, as Sean smiled back and congratulated her as she was being friendly towards him. "I tell ya what, it's pretty hard, but I did it!" she smiled once again at him, with Sean also giving one back. "I was going to go in, but I'm finishing my chips first. Good to know people can get through, though." the girl nooded back, agreeing with him. "That means all my Gyms here are done, I'm going to Celadon tomorrow. It's gunna be great!" she raised her arms, cheering. "Really? I'm going there too once I've finished this Gym." Sean was quite suprised to know there was more people like him who were going to do the same thing. "Wow! Maybe we could see each other there! I'm Natasha, by the way. Natasha Middleton." she calmed down now, as she introduced herself. "I'm Sean Taylor." they both knew who each other were now. Sean finished the last chip out of his cone, and he threw it in the bin. "Oh, be careful. The Gym closes in 10 minutes so you better hurry up. I'm going to the Pokemon Center now. See ya!" Natasha got up and walked away from the bench, and on the road to the Pokemon Center.

This left Sean to do one thing, and be quick with it. Nobody was going inside, they were only hanging out, so he was the only one left. Lights were starting to go off, as if it were already closing. "Oh no! I gotta get in now!" Sean walked to the door, and then stepped into the building which was no longer lit up as much, but it was very clean. The Gym Leader was standing against the wall with the keys in his hands. Then he turned around to notice Sean come through the door. "We're closing." he gave a low tone, as he announced that the Gym wasn't open. "Oh come on. Natasha told me there was 10 minutes left. It won't take that long." as Sean was denying the fact, the Gym Leader had sighed. "Very well." he closed his eyes, as he wasn't looking very happy at all. "I'm Tyron. The Saffron Gym Leader. I specialize in Psychic types, so be quite aware of how I battle with mind and physics." he introduced himself, opening his eyes again. "I'm Sean Taylor. From Cinnabar Island. I'm a Pokemon Trainer who has 3 badges so far and I'm here to battle for the fourth. I didn't earn these badges easily though, so other Gym Leaders would tell you." Sean was showing off his badge case, which did slightly impress Tyron but he found it normal. Tyron nodded and wanted to get the battle done before the Gym closed, so did Sean. "Let us get started then. The battle is 2 on 2. 2 of yours against 2 of mine. Got that?" Sean nodded in return and took place in the battle arena. "Good. Let's get this battle started then." Tyron also stood on the other side of the arena, and then the battle was ready to begin.

Warren grinned as he picked up the motionless Pokeball containing his new catch. Turning to Poliwag, he held out another sphere.
"Thanks, runt," he muttered as Poliwag returned to the ball before setting his sights on the Safari Zone building. He hadn't been out long, but already he was anxious to see what Malcolm had found out. But then again...Warren looked towards the lush forest of the Safari Zone, resplendent in its colourful flowers and thick ferns. The entire place was like an artificial jungle.
"Ven?" Warren glanced at the small purple furball sitting in the crook of one of the trees. Normally, Warren would have ignored such a common Pokémon, but this one was a little different. Was it a trick of the light, or were its eyes...blue? Suddenly, Warren scrabbled for his Pokeballs as he realised what was sitting in front of him, just waiting to be caught. A shiny Venonat. Unfortunately, the sudden action shocked the bug and squealing, it turned around and began to hop rhythmically from branch to branch, disappearing into the thicket.
"Oh no you don't!" Warren growled, charging after it, knocking branches recklessly out of the way as he ploughed through the foliage. Ahead of him, a blue and purple blur danced on the edges of his vision - never to far to be lost, but never close enough to be seen. Gasping for breath, Warren sped into a small clearing, surrounded by the dense trees. Standing next to the shiny Venonat was another, normal, furry purple bug. Warren gritted his teeth. A double battle would make it even harder to catch that Pokémon, but he had to try.
"Let's go, Cubone and Rattata!" The two rodents emerged onto the impromptu battlefield, Rattata looking pumped up and Cubone looking bored. So bored, in fact that it was lying on its back and sun-bathing.
"OI!" Warren bellowed, causing the two Venonat to shrink back in fright, "GET UP!" Cubone glanced at him briefly at then started snoring.
"Alright, we'll do this the hard way," Warren growled, "Rattata, use Quick Attack on the blue-eyed one! Warren, use Mega Kick on Cubone!" Cubone's eyes shot open as a thick boot connected with its back, sending it flying towards the common bug and knocking it square in the face with its skull. Flipping back to its feet as Rattata pummelled the shiny Venonat with a barrage of Quick Attacks, Cubone pointed its bone threateningly at Warren, then instantly stumbled as it was struck by a wave of ear-splitting screeches from its opponent.
"Shake it off, Cubone!" Warren shouted, "Rattata, Bite that screamer!" The piercing noise was cut off as Rattata dug its teeth into one of the grey blobs at the end of the regular Venonat's antennae. As the shiny stood, dazed, by Rattata's Quick Attacks, Cubone smacked its head against the ground, then straightened up, its head cleared. Meanwhile, Rattata released her grip and landed deftly on a broken log. The pained Venonat launched a Tackle, but Rattata simply swerved to the side and the bug smacked hard into the log.
"Rattata, jump onto Cubone's club!" Warren shouted in a brainwave and the rat responded almost instantly, leaping the distance in a single bound and latching on to the thick bone.
"Now, swing it at the normal one and follow up with a Bone Club to the shiny! Rattata, Hyper Fang!" In a quick, flicking motion, Cubone hurled the small purple rodent at the dazed Venonat, which quickly received an incredibly painful bit on the nose. Screeching in pain, it shook Rattata off and fled into the undergrowth. At the same time, Cubone continued the swinging motion of the club and began to bring it down on Venonat's club when...it stopped. The bone froze in midair, Cubone desperately struggling to push it down. Warren could instantly see the cause. The shiny Venonat's eyes were alight with blue fire - it was using Confusion to halt the attack. But, in the defeated state that it was, it could barely hold Cubone at bay, let alone stage a counter attack.
"Quick Attack!" Warren shouted and Rattata pelted forwards, smashing hard into the Venonat's back. Instantly, its concentration was lost And Cubone drove the club down, smashing it hard into the bugs skull, before swiping again to knock away its feet.
"Alright, Poliwag, Hypnosis, quickly!" Cubone and Rattata looked up in surprise as the tadpole suddenly burst onto the scene, its spiral pattern spinning like a top. Venonat blinked drowsily a few times, then keeled over, snoring. Warren grinned. This was his chance. Crossing his fingers in about five different ways at once, Warren hurled his Pokeball at the incredible rarity snoozing on the floor. In a flash of red lightning, the bug was pulled inside and the ball began to shake...

@I,Scream - can't wait for the gym battle :)

@ILAYM - Because I'm a lovely human being....

Congratulations Warren caught a Level 11 Venonat (the bluey eyed one)

OOC: Goodies. and I cancelled the rest of the battle and traded Tauros for Nidoking. Also, Sam put Venonat in storage for now...

Sam walked into the gym. Scared of how powerful he'd heard the leader was, he was going to be careful. "Ha!" a voice yelled. A huge shuriken hit the ground inches in front of Sam. "Aw god! What the heck was that?!" Sam yelled. "That, my dear boy, was a shuriken. I am Koga, leader of the Fuschia Gym. Ready to go? Then come out! Venomoth!" Koga yelled. "Hum...looks good! Lets do it! Vulpix!" Sam said. The two pokemon were out. "Ready for this, Sam? Let's go! Use Confusion!" Koga yelled. Vulpix was hoisted in the air. "Now! Psybeam!" Koga followed up. A beam of energy flew right at Vulpix, who started screeching. "No! Vulpix! Ember!" Sam said. Fire shot from Vulpix's mouth. The attack, however, missed. Vulpix was confused now. This was NOT good. "Dang it...Vulpix..." Sam said. "Put it out of its misery. Sleep Powder." Koga said. Venomoth flapped its wing, still having Vulpix in the air. Vulpix was out immediatly. "What's going on? How is it still using confusion?" Sam asked. "That is simple Venomoth is very well trained. Now your Vulpix is out. Drop it." Koga explained. Vulpix hit the ground quickly, causing a hole in the ground. "Now. Psybeam again." Koga said. He launched a beam at Vulpix again. Vulpix gained conciousness just as it hit. It collapsed to the ground, screeching. "No...NO! Vulpix...you did your best...return." Sam said. Vulpix reappeared in the ball in a beam of red light.

"Well. You still sure you can keep up? You're not strong enough yet...that is certain. Send out your next pokemon." Koga said cooly. "Hum...poison and bug. Like Venonat. I think I can do this! Go! Pidg!" Sam said. He tossed out another pokeball. Pidg came out, flapping its wings quickly. "Use Aerial Ace!" Sam said. "Pathetic...Confusion!" Koga yelled. Pidg flew. Faster and faster, charging at Venomoth. This was stopped all at once, however, by the attack. "Grr! THIS AGAIN!" Sam yelled. "Yes. This is the ultimate strategy. Venomoth will be the end of you. Poisonpowder." Koga said calmly. Purple powder flew off Venomoth's wings this time, causing Pidg to start coughing. "No! Why? Why do you fight like this?" Sam asked. "Because. This is the way of the ninja. Now. Psybeam." Koga said. Venomoth shot its beam again, thus putting Pidg through pain he'd never experienced. "No...I feel useless...helpless...just like...before." Sam said painfully. "Drop it." Koga said. "Now! Quick Attack!" Sam said. Pidg was dropped, hit the ground and hit moving. Already back in the air, Pidg was aimed perfectly. "Pathetic. Up." Koga said. Venomoth flew up, avoiding the attack. Pidg, however, kept going. It hit the wall head first. "Now crush it with Confusion." Koga said. Venomoth took Pidg and suddenly, it was being crushed. "Now. Shake it up. Finish it with its own poison." Koga said. Venomoth picked up Pidg, shaking him bacck and forth over and over. The poison moved...finishing Pidg. "That is two. You are the weakest opponent I've ever had. Pathetic, in fact." Koga said. "That's two..dang...I'm almost done. I have to beat all three of his pokemon with Umbre...GO!" Sam yelled.

Sam's final pokemon emerged. It was without his strongest pokemon, but was that enough? "Go! Pursuit!" Sam yelled. "Confusion." Koga said simply. Umbre charged as Venomoth attempted to lift it. "But how? Its not working...wait! Psychic to dark...dang! FLY UP!" Koga said, a touch anxiously. Venomoth barely escaped, as Umbre stopped perfectly. "Disable." Koga said, more calm now. Venomoth's eyes glew white, as Umbre's did as well. Now it couldn't move. "Dang..." Sam said. "Return. Koffing. Go." Koga said, returning his pokemon and sending another out. "Hum...not good. That can probably attack..." Sam said, remembering that his pokemon was still paralyzed. "Sludge!" Koga said. Koffing spit poison sludge at his opponent, Umbre. He was hit, falling to the ground, unable to get up due to the attack. "Hit it again! But with Smog!" Koga said. Koffing released purple gas at Umbre, who still couldn't move. He was hit, and regained his ability to move, as he started again. Sam could only guess why. "Crap...Umbre's poisoned now. Umbre! Shadow Ball!" Sam said. "Smokescreen!" Koga yelled. Black smoke covered the area, as the ball flew at the wall. "Now! Sludge from all sides!" Koga said. Sludge started covering the area. Umbre was the only common target. Covered in purple goo, Sam wondered how this happened. "GO! USE PURSUIT!" Sam yelled. Umbre charged. Flying forward at top speed, Umbre hit something. The darkness faded, and Sam started crying. Umbre had hit the wall. It was knocked out. "No...I lost..." Sam said. "You...I can see that ball on your belt. I demand you take this, as I take that." Koga said, handing Sam an egg, as he took Nidoking's pokeball. "Why...why did I lose?" Sam asked, still in tears. "It is because...because you lack a true bond. Go train...train hard." Koga said. Sam stood, and left. "Wait! Sam!" James yelled. Sam kept running. "No...it is time. Your turn." Koga said. "Right..." James said.

Sam returned to the pokecenter briefly. Going up to his room as he left his pokemon to be healed, he grabbed his pack. Then, he went downstairs. He wrote a short letter. To James, his closest friend. Handing it to Nurse Joy, he said, "Please...give this to my friend, who will return from a Gym Match soon. Thank you," Sam said, handing over a package. He then headed out to the beach. Taking one look back, he sent out Gyara. "Gyara...I need you to take me to an island out there. Preferably with pokemon on it," Sam said. "Dos!" Gyara said, putting his back down. Sam hopped on. He floated out. He was leaving everything behind. Like before...just like before. Continuing out, Sam floated away to uncertainty...

OOC: Interesting chapter, no?

Slowly, the ball stopped shaking and emitted a faint "ding". The corners of Warren's mouth twitched, then broke out into a grin.
"YES!" he bellowed at the top of his voice, "We did it, we did it, we did it, we did it, WE DID IT!" Poliwag cheered happily, Rattata smiled sagely and Cubone sighed in disappointment. After all, it had been hoping to get a sane trainer, at least.
"Let's get acquainted, Venonat!" Warren called, holding out the Pokeball with his newest capture. With a confused squeak, the purple bug emerged from the ball.
"Venonaaaaat?" it warbled. Warren grinned.
"Hi there little dude. I'm your new trainer, Warren." The bug looked up at him, a little confused, then shook its head.
"What? I'm not Warren. I'm not your new trainer? You're not a little dude?" Venonat nodded as he said the last one. Warren laughed.
"So you're a girl then? How do you even know, though? I mean...none of you even have...y'know..." Warren trailed off as the four Pokemon stared back at him in a completely confused manner. Clearly, they didn't know the facts of life. Even Rattata, who had a son. Warren sighed.
"Never mind. Let's get back to the building and see if Malcolm found anything out yet."

The two of them were sitting in a small room normally used as a rest stop for trainers who had been in the Safari Zone for long periods of time. At the moment, though, it was a temporary research station for Malcolm, with several computers running various search engines, the floor littered with research papers and specialist books, even fragments of Pokeballs which Malcolm had been testing on.
"So," Warren asked, the heaviness he felt in his chest evident in his voice, "What have you found out?" Malcolm let out a long breath.
"It's not good new, I'm afraid. I've only found five precedents, none of them recorded in much detail. In three of the cases, the Pokémon was never found or heard of again." Warren groaned. The chances were already looking bad and he had a feeling they were going to get even worse.
"What happened the other two times?" he said and Malcolm, surprisingly smiled.
"Well, in one of the cases, the Pokemon was found two weeks later, just wandering around with no memory of the event even happening."
"That's great news! So Beedrill could just be hanging around on Cycling Road right now?"
"Well, unfortunately, not. The Pokémon in question, a Slowpoke, was found almost five hundred miles from the location of the incident and the species in question isn't renowned for its mobility. The final case, the Pokémon was also found, though its memories had been wiped completely clean. It was only recognized due to a scar." Warren gulped.
"But...I don't get it. How the hell is any of this possible?" Malcolm took a deep breath and Warren realised he was in for another lecture.
"In the case of the first three, it would seem that the energy in the Pokeball became other forms of energy, such as light and heat, rather than matter. The Pokemon simply ceased to exist. In the case of the Slowpoke, it seems that some of the energy became kinetic energy, while the rest completed the regular transition to matter. In the final case, some of the energy didn't transfer to being the right type of matter, so the brain cells were set up in an incorrect pattern, hence the loss of memory." Warren clenched his fists.
"So I have a low chance of Beedrill surviving! If it did, I might not ever find it because it could have reappeared somewhere in Hoenn for all I know! And even if I do find it, it quite possibly wouldn't even recognise me!" Warren kicked the table in anger. He'd been expecting bad news, but a small part of him had been hoping desperately that it would all be okay, that Malcolm had found Beedrill and they'd all live happily ever after. But the hope was gone now. An idea was beginning to form in Warren's head though. A theory, you might say.
"The Grimer..." he whispered, half to Malcolm and half to himself, "It must have been given a TM, for Thunderbolt. Which means it belongs to someone. Which means that someone sent it." Malcolm frowned.
"But who would do that?" Warren shook his head in disgust.
"I can think of someone," he spat, "Someone with a really big grudge..."

OOC: You can have a cookie if you guess who he means XD

@Sasuneuchiha - Wow... Koga is really strong. Erm, PM me about the Island please.

Congratulations Sam traded Tauros for James' Nidoking
Congratulations Sam traded Nidoking for Koga's egg

@ILAYM - PLOT TWIST! PLOT TWIST!!!!!!! ... ... What? I love plot twists :)

p.s. poor Beedrill though :(

Battle was about to unfold, and even though it was late and Sean had had a rough day, this had gave Sean even more kicks to win. As for Tyron, his day was too long, looking as if he couldn't be bothered and he just wanted to get this overwith, as did Sean. Tyron was not in such a good mood, infact, he was pretty tired after a day like this where all he has done was battle, battle, battle. That did not compare to how Sean's day went, all he did was battle, battle, battle after all too. Since the battle was just about to begin, both Sean and Tyron had to send out their Pokemon they were going to use for the battle. Sean had decided which one he was saving until last, but he had to choose what he was going to use for now. Then he had chosen which Pokemon he was going to use. "Let's do it, Horsea!" he got the PokeBall for Horsea out of his pocket, and had thrown it into the empty battlefield. Horsea burst out of the ball, floating around in the air on its wings, happy as regularly. This was leaving Tyron to send out his Pokemon, which was obviously going to be a tough one for Horsea who has not had much battling experience yet. "Come on, Mr. Mime!" Tyron also got a PokeBall from his pocket, and then threw it out into battle. Out came Mr. Mime, a pink sort of human figure, with white gloves. Sean did not know what to expect of a Pokemon like that, but as a Psychic type it was obviously going to be a challenge. As for Tyron, a small Pokemon like Horsea was simple and easy for him.

So, the battle was just about to get rolling with Horsea and Mr. Mime at seperate sides of the battlefield, standing tall and ready. Tyron was confident that he would end his day of challenges with a victory. But for Sean, it was another battle that would not only end a day, but probably the most important day he's had yet. Horsea was one of Sean's lower levelled Pokemon that he was hoping on training up well, as it had not been used much yet. Tyron saw it as quite an easy battle, as a strong Psychic type like Mr. Mime could eat the small, Water type Horsea. Although just like any other battle, this did not in any way disrupt Sean of his confidence in Horsea, even if it has not had much experience in battling yet. There was a couple of decent moves that Horsea had on its hands, mainly 2 Water typed moves that Sean could use. One was stronger than the other, so Sean wasn't going to use that yet. There was also two other moves, that could mentally weaken Mr. Mime but he would leave that a moment. Sean's mind was made up, and the attack used was decided. "Let's kick this off! Use Bubble, Horsea!" this was Horsea's currently main move, and Sean wanted to get to the point of the battle, which was to deal some damage. Horsea, as many of Sean's other Pokemon, were reactive and Horsea had immediately got the message. Whilst Horsea was levitating on its small wings, small bubbles, which were turning bigger as they foated, were floating out of Horsea's mouth. As more bubbles came out, Mr. Mime started to get hit by each bubble which hit quite harder than they looked as if they would. Just then, Horsea had stopped shooting bubbles, as bubbles stopped hitting Mr. Mime. The attack was pretty tough, but not there at all yet. There was more to be done in this battle, and both Sean and Tyron just had to see.

Since Horsea's Bubble attack had done some damage, Tyron was also following. "It's going to need a bit more than that, Sean. One Bubble attack won't make a difference." Tyron convinced Sean to try harder, and use a better attack. This was going to be done, as Sean nodded in return, while having his eyebrows slightly lowered. Admittidaly, Sean did know that Horsea wasn't the strongest of Pokemon, but it couldn't have done so bad after all it did try and he was going to try and get better throughout the battle. Mr. Mime was still standing well and high, as its hands were shaking just a little bit since Mr. Mime was quite overreactive to attacks. Whereas, Tyron saw Mr. Mime as a truly strong Pokemon that got the job done well. There were also a few good moves that Tyron could choose Mr. Mime to use; some Psychic typed, some not. There was one that he was going to use that was not a Psychic type but it would do a good amount of damage to Horsea. "Mr. Mime, use Doubleslap." he didn't shout it, but he said it loudly so that Mr. Mime could hear and understand the command well. Indeed, just like Horsea, Mr. Mime satrted to obey and ran over, across the tiles of the battlefield, towards Horsea. This was clearly not a Psychic typed move, but it was going to be quite a suprise for Horsea. Once Mr. Mime was close enough, it slapped one white glove across Horsea's small body, which did hurt slightly. Then, as the attack was named Doubleslap, Mr. Mime slapped its other white rubber gloved hand across Horsea. This was quite a hard attack that did something to Horsea, but nothing so serious as of yet. The battle had only just started, and it was already clear that the battle was going to get rougher.

The Doubleslap attack by Mr. Mime had put Tyron in the lead so far, as Mr. Mime's level, stats and ability are all outclassing on Sean's Horsea, though the battle was not done yet and has yet to be done. Having said that, Horsea does have lots of capabilities once it has a good trainer and is raised well, in which Horsea and all of Sean's other Pokemon were. This was just the beginning of the battle, and Horsea can still prove itself a great Pokemon by taking out Mr. Mime. Sean knew that big things do come from small packages, the point being proved by how many battles he has done and been victorious. As said before, Horsea has some moves that can really make the battle much easier, and the one that Sean had on his mind was going to be used some time, and the time was probably just right enough. "Let's try Smokescreen!" just like Sand Attack which Horsea has, Smokescreen would make the opponent less accurate, which always helps in battle because then Horsea would have less chance of getting attacked. The only slightly damaged Horsea had levitated higher now, as it was trying to make itself strong to battle. As Horsea was flapping its small wings fast, Horsea was building up a blob of black ink inside its mouth, that was then aimed at Mr. Mime. Just then, once the blob of ink was big enough, Horsea shot out the ball like a bullet. Then as the ball got closer to Mr. Mime, the slower movements Mr. Mime's arms made. Finally, the ball of ink had burst right on Mr. Mime's body. Luckily for Tyron, it did not hit the eyes which was the worst possible target, but as the ball of ink burst, clouds of deep, black fog were spreading all across Mr. Mime, even getting in the eyes. This then caused Mr. Mime to be less accurate in moves, and Mr. Mime had trouble seing anything, even Tyron. As the smoke cleared, Sean wanted to use this as an oppurtunity to make an attack, yet it was the same as before. "Use Bubble!" Sean thought fast, just incase the effects of the smoke would ware off. Horsea quicky shot out more of those bubbles from its mouth, just like before. The bubbles were bigger this time, as Horsea was more concentrated on Mr. Mime right now. Bubbles then ended up flying towards Mr. Mime who started to make "Mime, M-Mime-" noises in helplessness. As these noises were made, Mr. Mime's mouth was opened wide, the worst thing that Mr. Mime could do when bubbles were coming closer without a suspection. The bubbles then got close to Mr. Mime's face, but Mr. Mime couldn't see them since Mr. Mime was barely sighted and these bubbles were crystal clear. So, since Mr. Mime could do nothing and made more noises, Bubbles ended up making contact around the neck, body, lips, and worst of all, the mouth. Mr Mime choked in shock as the liquid from the bubbles trickled down its throat. This weakened Mr. Mime quite a bit now, as the Bubble attack did do well and Horsea pulled it off.

Due to the past attacks done by Horsea, the advantage was Sean's, and it was well deserved after the Smokescreen which has put Mr. Mime in a bad state, which could possibly cost the battle for Tyron. With Mr. Mime's accuracy delayed by the Smokescreen, Tyron would have to do something, or use an accurate move, whichever as long as the attack would hit. "Impressive. But I've made my way through these things before, Sean. I gotta admit though, one battle this is turning out to be. I'm glad this Gym was kept open." Tyron was complimenting Sean, yet making him realize that his next move was likely to do some good and would restore his victory position. Mr. Mime only had 4 moves, 2 only which could attack, and none of them had perfect accuracy. So, after Doubleslap, Tyron decided it was time for the stronger attack to be used. "Now then, let's get this out of the way, shall we? Mr. Mime, use Confusion." this was tougher than Doubleslap in different ways. For one, it was a Psychic type move. Second, it could confuse, hence the name. This means that one perfect shot that would confuse would mean that Horsea would be messed up and the Smokescreen would be nothing compared to the state of confusion. There was nothing left to be done, Mr. Mime started to focus its mind hard on Horsea, if it got the chance due to panic and accuracy delay. This was not likely to work, because if Mr. Mime could not work out where Horsea was, then Mr. Mime wouldn't be able to hit Horsea at all. Mr. Mime was concentrating hard wnough, and eventually let go of a wave of psychic energy. This wave Horsea could easily levitate over, and it was travelling slowly, so Sean clicked his fingers. Horsea levitated as the thin wave of energy passed, avoiding Horsea completely then fading into the air.

The Confusion attack did not work well at all for Tyron, and this has automatically proived that Sean has a chance to win against Mr. Mime now, but not at this very second. It would still need a little bit more for Mr. Mime to get knocked out, yet same for Horsea as the Doubleslap used by Mr. Mime was just as effective, yet more powerful. Sean was seeing the better side as normal, where he was close to winning and it would just take a little longer until such happens. As for Tyron, he wasn't going to care so much if he lost, he was just tired and lots most of his energy while battling against other trainers, which most had beaten him for the day. Horsea was still able to make some good attacks as it was for now, but he had to watch out for anything by Mr. Mime. In this case, Sean wanted to go further now so that he could win soon enough, so he was going to use Horsea's better move. "Let's try Water Gun!" Sean did realize that it wasn't used yet, so whatever it did would be new to him. The energized Horsea was levitating very fast now as it was excited to use this new move. Just that second, Horsea immediately shot a small blast of water out of its mouth. The water wave was highly fast travelling and got further and faster by the second. The fast blow of water then hit Mr. Mime over the face, which was the best target as usual. This slap of water had washed Mr. Mime's face completely, as the water pressure had caused painful damage to the cheeks, which turned red in pain.

This was close now, Mr. Mime was on the brink of fainting now and Tyron had to get the battle going on, and try and fight back and well, though it definetely would be hard in the inaccurate condition, due to Horsea's Smokescreen. Even a tough Psychic type Pokemon could not fight inaccuracy, and there was nothing to do about it, so it was definetely going to be hard, but he had to try if he wanted to win. Mr. Mime's head was shaking, as the Water Gun had hurt quite badly across the face, mainly the two cheeks. Its eyes were also twirling, since it could not get a good view of what was going on, but it could hear well, fortunately. Tyron was know getting the point that Horsea was quite a worthy opponent when trained correctly, and he completely respected that. On the other hand, it was a battle and when the Gym Leader is devoted as he was, winning was the thing to do. Therefore, Tyron was going to use Mr. Mime's most powerful move that he used before but was sure it would work. "Mr. Mime, concentrate on Horsea. Try." just before giving the command, Tyron wanted this to work well. "Use Confusion!" he gave the command out, hoping that this time Mr. Mime would perform the move well. Mr. Mime did have its head facing Horsea now, and could see the small blue floating thing, so Mr. Mime tried to focus very hard. Sean was sure this would miss, and didn't try doing anything since it would not make one difference. Then, Mr. Mime was concentrated hard enough; it opened its eyes and let off a wave of weak psychic power. This was a fast wave this time, as the concentration had forced the power harder. Horsea could not escape this time, but Sean couldn't see that, only Mr. Mime could, as did Tyron. The wave of energy then struck Horsea right across the body and mind. This felt like an electric shock, but it was different. The damage was quite hard on the mind, and did a lot of hurt, yet it was not the ending yet. The lucky side was that it did not confuze, so Sean still got the chance to win the first part of the battle.

Now it was down to either Pokemon to finish the first half of the battle, either Sean or Tyron could do it now so they had to think fast. Would Sean want to waste all Horsea's power on Mr. Mime? Even though Horsea would probably be knocked out as soon as Tyron's other Pokemon came out, he was going to have to try and make the most of Horsea's uses. Tyron did not always enjoy winning, as he was just tired of the day now and wanted to go, but he obviously was going to give it a shot. The other side of this was that if Tyron did win, Mr. Mime wouldn't do so well on Sean's next Pokemon wither, in the state that it was in. It was down to the first person to use a move, and Sean just opened his mouth to command it. There was one move that he could use that would have a good effect, the one that was Horsea's most powerful, the one that was just used. "Horsea, finish Mr. Mime off with another Water Gun!" after that last one that did cold pain on Mr. Mime, it was surely going to knock Mr. Mime out after one more use. Horsea was floating slower now, but it was still full of energy that didn't stop Horsea from attacking. Horsea's small eyebrows lowered as a sign that it was not giving up, and then started to get some water in its tubular mouth. Then, just as soon as there was a good lot of water inside, Horsea nailed Mr. Mime with the large squirt of water that came out of Horsea's mouth. The shock of the Water Gun had caused Mr. Mime to take no more and fall to the ground in pain, knocking Mr. Mime out. Sean smiled at Horsea, as Horsea smiled back with its eyes closed and eyebrows raised. Tyron didn't care so much, as he took the PokeBall out and withdrew Mr. Mime, ready to send out the next of his challening Pokemon.
