The reason I ask is that you always seem to single out DP in particular.

Even if the ranking alone doesn't do anything for you, given that no less than five characters - including the Sinnoh region Champion - all acknowledge Satoshi's strength at some point during the Sinnoh League after seeing him battle, I don't understand how you can claim that he hadn't improved at all.

The Sinnoh League wasn't perfect. Although Satoshi-Kouhei and Satoshi-Takuto are solid enough, most of the effort is clearly put into the three-part Satoshi-Shinji battle and the resolution of their storyline. But it does far more to demonstrate Satoshi's skills as a trainer than the Isshu League ever did.

I don't think at all that the Sinnoh characters or even the Sinnoh region Champion acknowledge Ash's strength during the Sinnoh League, besides Ash and Paul's battle wasn't all that great to even call a solid match up, non of the Sinnoh battles were that great to write home to either and DP Ash losing to an blend boring idiot like Tobias who had nothing but legendary pokemon is a much worser lose, then it was with Cameron, even the Sinnoh characters were poorly so treated and Dawn was just the worst thing to ever happen to the show.

BW did redeem the show with whole lot new interesting characters like Iris. The rival's were really epic, the new Unova Pokemon truely felt more like Pokemon, the Unova League was really good but it was just too overrush and because of that Ash was put back in the top 8 again which wasn't to bad.
