4th Gen Biggest Magikarp Caught? [Plat. Resort Area]

The Magikarp Challenge™ [Platinum Resort Area]

I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done before, but if anyone's noticed,
talk to the guy in the swimming pool in the resort area (Platinum only, sorry)
He says the king of the pool is there or something like that.

Once you go fishing in the resort area water (the one with the bridge crossing over it and the tree
randomly in the middle of the pond), you can find various magikarp, level 1-100! :D

Thus, I've come to a challenge:
Make it on to the list by toppling off
other members' scores and win userbars!

My highest was 81 :]
but my game shut off and it didn't save..
so technically, it's still 67 >_>'

*Credits to Mooglizer for the idea below.
To qualify, you must have CAUGHT it and must
be sure of the level. No "I thinks" or anything
of the sort. Read below for more details.

TOP 3 NORMAL:

Mooglizer - Level 100!!!* (That Sucks!!!*)
KASEO - Level 99!!! (Perfect!!!)
PlatinumDawnFtw- Level 94! (Great!)

TOP 3 SHINY:

How To Win A USERBAR:

There's two "tier" lists for this challenge.
"NORMAL" and "SHINY". To obtain a userbar

for the Normal rank, you must catch a magikarp
either level 99 or 100. The userbars will have a
phrase for each achievement, respectively.

For the Shiny rank, you have 4 chances of
winning a userbar. Catching a shiny by
fishing is an achievement worth celebrating itself,
so you get a userbar for, in a way, "Participation".
The level-specific challenges are much tougher.
You must catch a magikarp either level 90-99, 100,
or 1.

The rankings above depict the level scores by the fishers.
In no way does it convey the fact that Level 100 is the
best score to aim for. In fact, if anything, it is most
likely the worst...

* to claim your userbar, you must provide proof !!
photographic proof is the best, but you may
provide statistics of the magikarp for last resort.
Please try to send your magikarp to someone who can
take the picture before posting the statistics in this thread.

America always gets those events with those giant
pikachu balloons and parades and they have a
pokemon store and all this other stuff.

Gr. I thought it was a big catch when I saw the first Lv.66. And then I thoguht I was lucky when I caught the 67.. gahhh. Either way, I wish it were Feebas instead of Magikarp :D

That would make EVERYONE's dreams come true.

Never noticed it. Never needed it anyway, I caught mine at level 3 on rout 204 or something and it does just fine, still neat. Are you sure it goes to lv 100?

You can catch a Pokemon with a level higher then the god of all Pokemon and it's Magikarp!

Lol, yeah I've noticed a couple weeks ago. I caught two level 75's, and a 79. I nicknamed them Alphakarp, Omegakarp, and Uberkarp. Btw, I think they have the best dex entry in Platinum. XD

There is just one thing. If you get a Lvl 100 Magikarp... can you evolve it? I think you need to get Lvl 99 or lower.

And, oh, I actually dont bother to get Magikarp, but thats cause I never heard of this xD

Nah, I wouldn't rush platinum just for the chance to get a level 100 magikarp.
But the whole idea seems pretty cool.

I haven't tried this yet, but I probably won't have to. I have a level 64 Gyarados that I'm happy with in my team as of now. ^_^

On second thought, maybe I'll try it for fun sometime. It would be rather humorous to reel in a level 100 Magikarp.

Yeah that's annoying. After I caught my level 67, the rest were around 45 T-T

54? pretty low compared to the ones recorded here :P
I'M not 100% sure if it goes up to level 100, but I looked
around in the Plat. section of Serebii. At first, it seemed
unbelievable to me as well, but once I first caught that
66 (The first time I ever used a rod in platinum ;) ), it
became less dubious. Especially due to the fact that people
are making claims of level 80s+ O_O'

That would be awfully unfortunate if you caught a level 100 magikarp
and the rest you find are in the 20s. It'll be a strong pokemon, Lv.100!
But then again... it's a worthless magikarp with three moves.
Especially due to the fact that a perfect level 100 Gyarados is taunting you...

In actuality, I don't know how hard it is to catch a level 100. But it's still magikarp,
keep that it mind. The catch ratio is still the same, so I wouldn't be surprised
if someone caught it with a pokeball or a net ball on their first try....
