This was inspired by a blog from far away~!
Now...
Staring at this thing for 20 minutes more....
...This is the cutest pokemon ever, yes?
The figure, the mysteriousness, the tongue...everything about it~
...Such a foolish assertion from an uncivilized fool.
The word "cute" here is being unspeakably overlooked and misinformed. By definition, cute is simply delightfully pretty or dainty. For example, a pink igglybuff. A "Shellder" is simply not. First of all, take a look at its shell. How could you compare that rough, bumpy excuse of a shell with a bivalve-like pokemon like Clamperl? It is, without a doubt, the most hideous and repulsive characteristic of a pokemon I have ever had the misfortune to lay my eyes upon.
....And that tongue. What kind of a pokemon, or anything for that matter, would be unlawfully rude and discourteous as to stick out a tongue like that? How does that classify as "cute"?
Therefore, to base a claim that a Shellder is "cute" simply can not be true, or to be credible for a truth!
...A perfect case for an ugly verdict. Your Honor, feel free to slam that gavel of yours.
*Sigh* That is awfully careless of you, Ms. von Karma.
Well, first of all, I do agree that compared with most shelled pokemon, for example, Clamperl, it might be not as unappealing.
However, the context in this argument is simply "cute". Is it not possible that the word "cute" in this instance does not represent appearance and daintiness, but rather, cleverness?
Shellder's shell is much harder than a diamond. This shell, therefore, is hard enough to help this shellder withstand virtually any attack. In addition, this shell is also used for underwater swimming. An ordinary Shellder swims facing backward by opening and closing its two-piece shell. Ergo, it is surprisingly fast.
And on the topic of this pokemon's tongue, discourteous it might be, it is simply something to give this pokemon unique abilities such as borrowing.
Ergo! While this might not be the most attractive figure, one could still argue,
...that it is a cute pokemon.
...Aren't you overlooking something, Mr. Edgeworth?
Shellder can not learn the moves Lick, or Dig.
So how can you claim that this tongue characteristic is clever at all?! Apart from useless!
Actually, Mr. Wright!! If you take a close look at it, this tongue is capable of borrowing in sand. In fact, it hides in sand on the sea floor and catches prey with its soft tongue. Also! At night, this it broad tongue to burrow a hole in the seafloor sand and then sleep in it.
Mmm, it does look rather smooth and cute. <3
I'm not sure... I think it's based more on appearance.
I mean, take a look at it's insides. Erm...inside the shell, I mean. There, you can see it's two wide white eyes. Perhaps this person is asserting that it's cute by appearance because he liked his vulnerable, black soft part, where its tongue is appealing to him.
I...can't tell what he's thinking, to be honest... holding a trial about this...asserting that the pokemon Shellder is um..."cute".
But if that's his taste! Then maybe it is cute! Only according to him, at least.
BUT THE QUESTION IS! IS IT THE CUTEST?! MAYBE OTHERS WOULD AGREE, OR DISAGREE!
---------
But oh my god.
There's a puzzle to be solved in this mystery!
