Question: Blog Question

Well tbh, blogs are nice without being something to aim for. I certainly don't come to PC to blog, even with this latest upgrade. I certainly am not one who would spam to reach 5,000 posts.

Staff have a right to do what they wish. Blogs are an added incentive for people who have given PC years of dedication, or have shown they are decent members that don't abuse the rules etc.

Kudos to the staff for the introduction of the blogs, and I ask that you guys don't lower your stance. I for one would like a blog, as I'm sure lots would, but I'm not going to go out and beg for it.

EDIT: I would think a suitable course of action, if you chose to allow requesting of blogs, would be to create a thread similar to that of the Name Change Thread etc, and simply try to moderate posts accordingly. Rules should state that only 1 request per...6 months would be allowed, and if said rule was violated, infractions/warnings will be handed out accordingly.

Well, I've arrived a little late but I feel like throwing my opinions out as well.

So far, the people in charge of the forum have already admitted that the blogging restrictions aren't set in stone. That means that it could be lowered down to four thousand or three thousand posts if they see fit. If you realise that, you'll realise there's no point in arguing about their decision as well, because it can change (and more than likely will change) at any given moment.

In my opinion, i think 5000 posts is way to strict. if i had to say in the matter, it would be 3000 posts. and i can't pay even 1 cent because my family doesn't allow it. but, since I'm just a normal member with no importance at all, i guess my thoughts don't really matter.

I know you were being sarcastic, but I want to point out the irony of that post. First, you say you want a blog. That means showing off your thoughts, rants, stories, pictures and lots of other things to the users of this forum. Of course, if none of them care about you, what's the point of having a blog seeing as it will just be ignored?

Midnight Beat explained everything pretty well. If anyone has any more complaints about the staff's decision, I would advise you to read his post before posting.

Or we might have it where we pick someone that we see fit (without them coming to us). Sort of like how we pick Mods.

Who knows what we'll do down the road. But for right now the only ones that have the blog is Staff, Supporters level 2 and higher, and members with over 5K posts.
