Just getting this thread up and running as I'll be shortly starting my adventure and updating as much as possible! For those wondering how I obtained my copy, I have access to the Australian eShop in which the games went live last night.

The download isn't anywhere near complete so the first update probably won't be for a good while yet.

Entry #01

Jumping in with a quick update to say I've started my game and I'm loving it so far! Everything feels so fluid and Alola just seems so colourful. I haven't fully decided what Pokémon to use on my team just yet but I've got a general idea, most of them aren't available until the second island anyway. So far I've managed to get my starter Pokémon, save Lillie's Cosmog, meet and battle Hau, and now I've just picked up my Rotom Dex ready to head to the Trainer's School.

Entry #02

After defeating Ilima's trail, the Kahuna of Melemele island and a bunch of other stuff, I've moved onto the second island which I haven't explored much of just yet. I have battled Sina and captured a couple of new Pokémon from Akala island which I'm now training up for my team back on Melemele island. Gotta say though, I've had the Exp. Share turned off and I'm finding this game a lot tougher than X/Y was at this stage!

Entry #03

I'm really enjoying this game so far! The characters are great, each have their own personality and it feels like there are a lot more significant characters than X/Y had. Since the last update I've pretty much just explored every area of Akala island and completed all the tasks to now.

To start, I met up with Colress which was awesome and then went on to complete all three trials which I found to be relatively easy overall. I did struggle with Totem Lurantis as it had some crazy tactics, but the other two with Wishiwashi and Alolan Marowak weren't as difficult. After completing those trials, I went on to fight off some Team Skull grunts and met up with Olivia once more to battle against her! Another fairly easy battle despite being under by a couple of levels, but that doesn't bother me too much.

Right now I'm just back at the start of Akala island about to meet with this guy from the Aether Foundation?
(I really don't trust those guys lmao).

Entry #04

• Visited the Aether Foundation for the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last
• Arrived at Ula'Ula island where I met with Samson Oak who told me all about Regional Variants
• Met up with Kukui in Malie Garden and caught a few new Pokémon in the area
• Explored around Malie City for some time and picked up a couple of items
• Met up with Guzma for the very first time and battled against him. I was actually quite impressed by his ace Pokémon.
• Made my way southwards up the mountain towards Tapu Village and battled some trainers along the way
• Hapu enabled Mudsdale for the Poké Ride which allowed me to move forward past the rocks on Route 12
• Began Acerola's trial in the abandonded Thrifty Megamart which was considerbaly tougher than the previous trials so far
• Caught a Mimikyu from the same location and added it to my team which completes my initial planned team!
• Found Grimsley on some beach which I thought was a really cool throwback to Unova! He enabled Sharpedo for Poké Ride
• Flew back to the base of Route 12 ready to take on Team Skull in Po Town, whatever that entails..

Entry #05

I kinda feel like this is a lazy and rather brief entry, but considering how it has been a loooong time since my last update, I thought I'd just condense all the events into a sort of time-line list. There may be a few things I've skimmed over, but I've tried to document the more important things that happened on my journey!

• Cleared all the Island Trials and defeated the four Kahunas
• Sorted out the mess with Team Skull and the Aether Foundation
• Captured Lunala and entetered the Ultra Wormhole
• Confronted and battled with Lusamine for one final time
• Made my way up to Ula'Ula island where I began my journey to the Pokémon League
• Defeated the Elite Four trainers after a few failed attempts
• Became the Champion of Alola and celebrated with a festival back on Melemele island
• Caught Tapu Koko in the Ruins of Conflict
• Said an emotional goodbye to Lillie as she set sail for Kanto
• Started my hunt for the Ultra Beasts assisted by Anabel and Looker!

I've gotta say, the character development in these games is absolutely fantastic! I can't remember the last time I felt this connected to a group of characters in a game and I have to applaud Game Freak for doing such a terrific job on that front, particularly for Lillie.
