Brendan Never Appeared.

There are some game characters who never appeared in the anime, or were only in the movie opening trailers. Notable examples are Brendan and Lucas, who didn't appear outside the movie trailers. Amongst these characters, who did you want to appear in the anime? I'd have love to see Brendan and May interact in the anime itself... but alas. =/

Here's another question for you: why do you think the male protagonists never appear in the anime as a rival character or a character at all, for that matter?

I guess the likely reason as to why these male protagonists don't appear is because of Ash and he usually wears outfits based on them. As for why they aren't rivals it's probably because the writers don't want to portray them in the wrong image.

It would've been nice if we had seen Leaf or Hilda make an anime appearance at least once, even if it's in a side series (a la Chronicles) instead of the main show with Ash.

I suppose the male player character from each generation would have only appeared in the main series anime if Ash had left after Johto (Original Series). They'd obviously be doing much of the same things as Ash were they to actually make an appearance.
