Hey guys and girls C: I'm new to competitive battling, and this is my first time ever creating a competitive team. I'm accepting all the criticism and critiques I can get, but please no rude or overly harsh comments!
Here is my team so far:
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
(Iron Barbs)
-Spikes
-Gyro Ball
-Curse
-Leech Seed/Protect
Quite an annoying little spike ball. Rocky helmet + poison barbs= the opponent loses 3/8 health every time it touches this thing. That's in addition to the damage it's already taking after spikes. Curse might be a bit risky, and i was unsure about adding it in here, but it boosts Ferro's already high defense and attack even higher. Finally, leech seed gives HP recovery for Ferro and more damage dealt per turn for the opponent. If Ferro can manage to survive long enough with it's great defenses and get everything is set up, the opponent is gonna have a hard time fighting back. Only real threat is 4x fire weakness.
Excadrill @Life Orb
(Sand Rush)
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Rapid Spin/Protect/Substitute
Standard set. With sandstorm in effect thanks to Tyranitar's sand stream, Excadrill becomes one of the most feared sweepers. I definitely need a rapid spinner on my team as well, and I'm thinking that Excadrill will do the job well.
Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
(Sand Stream)
-Stealth Rock
-Crunch/Pursuit
-Stone Edge
-Fire Blast
Also pretty standard set, except I included stealth rock in this set instead of superpower. I already have my Lucario with close combat, and I think fire will offer me more coverage over fighting types against most of the major threats I'll be facing.
Togekiss @ Leftovers/Choice Scarf
(Serene Grace)
-Air Slash
-Body Slam
-Dazzling Gleam
-Nasty Plot
My fairy type of choice. Great new typing. Immunity to dragon and ground types, and resistance to fighting. Serene Grace is amazing. 6/10 chance to paralyze with body slam, and same chance to flinch with air slash. Dazzling gleam is a great fairy-type move. Both Tyranitar and Garchomp have 2x fairy weaknesses. Unfortunately, Togekiss does has a 2x rock weakness, making Tyranitar a threat.
Lucario @ Lucarionite
(Adaptability)
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Extreme Speed
-Bullet Punch
Mega form: monstrous 145/140 attack stats, and that's before the 2x STAB from Adaptability. 112 speed. Resistances to common Dragon, Rock, and Steel types. On the flip side, a bit risky with it's mediocre defenses and weaknesses to common fire, fighting, and ground types.
Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
(Flame body)
-Fire Blast/Overheat
-Shadow Ball
-Substitute
-Willl-o-Wisp
STAB fire blast or overheat plus a 145 Sp att. stat = major damage. Substitute gives chandelure a barrier of support to compensate for it's mediocre bulk. Shadow ball is just a great ghost move to have. For my 4th slot, I was originally undecided, but went with will-o-wisp. I'm not sure yet how this move set will work out in battle, but it looks promising.
