Building My first Competitive Team!

Hey guys and girls C: I'm new to competitive battling, and this is my first time ever creating a competitive team. I'm accepting all the criticism and critiques I can get, but please no rude or overly harsh comments!

Here is my team so far:

    Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
    (Iron Barbs)

    -Spikes
    -Gyro Ball
    -Curse
    -Leech Seed/Protect

Quite an annoying little spike ball. Rocky helmet + poison barbs= the opponent loses 3/8 health every time it touches this thing. That's in addition to the damage it's already taking after spikes. Curse might be a bit risky, and i was unsure about adding it in here, but it boosts Ferro's already high defense and attack even higher. Finally, leech seed gives HP recovery for Ferro and more damage dealt per turn for the opponent. If Ferro can manage to survive long enough with it's great defenses and get everything is set up, the opponent is gonna have a hard time fighting back. Only real threat is 4x fire weakness.

    Excadrill @Life Orb
    (Sand Rush)

    -Swords Dance
    -Earthquake
    -Rock Slide
    -Rapid Spin/Protect/Substitute

Standard set. With sandstorm in effect thanks to Tyranitar's sand stream, Excadrill becomes one of the most feared sweepers. I definitely need a rapid spinner on my team as well, and I'm thinking that Excadrill will do the job well.

    Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
    (Sand Stream)

    -Stealth Rock
    -Crunch/Pursuit
    -Stone Edge
    -Fire Blast

Also pretty standard set, except I included stealth rock in this set instead of superpower. I already have my Lucario with close combat, and I think fire will offer me more coverage over fighting types against most of the major threats I'll be facing.

    Togekiss @ Leftovers/Choice Scarf
    (Serene Grace)

    -Air Slash
    -Body Slam
    -Dazzling Gleam
    -Nasty Plot

My fairy type of choice. Great new typing. Immunity to dragon and ground types, and resistance to fighting. Serene Grace is amazing. 6/10 chance to paralyze with body slam, and same chance to flinch with air slash. Dazzling gleam is a great fairy-type move. Both Tyranitar and Garchomp have 2x fairy weaknesses. Unfortunately, Togekiss does has a 2x rock weakness, making Tyranitar a threat.

    Lucario @ Lucarionite
    (Adaptability)

    -Swords Dance
    -Close Combat
    -Extreme Speed
    -Bullet Punch

Mega form: monstrous 145/140 attack stats, and that's before the 2x STAB from Adaptability. 112 speed. Resistances to common Dragon, Rock, and Steel types. On the flip side, a bit risky with it's mediocre defenses and weaknesses to common fire, fighting, and ground types.

    Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
    (Flame body)

    -Fire Blast/Overheat
    -Shadow Ball
    -Substitute
    -Willl-o-Wisp

STAB fire blast or overheat plus a 145 Sp att. stat = major damage. Substitute gives chandelure a barrier of support to compensate for it's mediocre bulk. Shadow ball is just a great ghost move to have. For my 4th slot, I was originally undecided, but went with will-o-wisp. I'm not sure yet how this move set will work out in battle, but it looks promising.

Your team is lacking any offense against Water-type Pokemon. You should probably consider putting a Grass- or Electric-type into your party. I can't access any of my sources right now, so I can't come up with a move list as of right now... but I can put one down as soon as I get home.

He already has Ferrothorn. But that one lacks Grass moves whatsoever

Curse Ferrothorn requires a lot of support to be effective. Ferrothorn is better off as a hazard setter, and Thunder Wave and Gyro Ball don't go well together:
    -Spikes/Stealth Rock
    -Leech Seed
    -Power Whip/Protect
    -Gyro Ball/Thunder Wave
    Nature: Relaxed
    EVs: 252 HP/208 Def/48 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Iron Barbs

I'd use Rapid Spin as a primary option with Excadrill if I were you. Substitute and Protect also waste away valuable Sandstorm turns when Excadrill should be attacking:
    -Earthquake
    -Rock Slide
    -Rapid Spin
    -Swords Dance/Shadow Claw
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Leftovers/Assault Vest
    Ability: Sand Rush

While Tyranitar's Sand Stream can be extended with Smooth Rock, the passive recovery granted by Leftovers or the extra special bulk granted by Assault Vest is more useful:
    -Crunch
    -Pursuit
    -Rock Slide/Stone Edge
    -Stealth Rock/Fire Blast
    Nature: Careful/Sassy
    EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
    Item: Leftovers/Assault Vest
    Ability: Sand Stream

Body Slam isn't available for Togekiss till Poke Bank. It's better off using defensive or bulky sets to make the most out of its new typing. Choice Scarf locks Togekiss into one move while it's in battle, and it's best to use Choice Scarf if the user has 4 attacks or 3 attacks + Trick:
    -Nasty Plot/Thunder Wave
    -Air Slash/Fire Blast
    -Dazzling Gleam/Fire Blast/Flamethrower
    -Roost
    Nature: Calm
    EVs: 248 HP/252 SDef/8 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Serene Grace

    or
    -Nasty Plot/Thunder Wave
    -Dazzling Gleam
    -Air Slash/Fire Blast
    -Roost
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 248 HP/252 Def/8 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Serene Grace

    or
    -Dazzling Gleam
    -Air Slash
    -Fire Blast/Aura Sphere
    -Roost
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 248 HP/208 SAtk/48 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Leftovers
    Ability: Serene Grace

Extreme Speed and Bullet Punch are redundant with Lucario. Choose between Bullet Punch or Extreme Speed. Replace one of them with Earthquake or Crunch to let Lucario hit Aegislash, since it's walled hard by it at the moment.

Chandelure is very rarely seen at all, despite its high Special Attack. If you want to give it a shot, don't use status moves besides Trick with Choice Scarf for the reason I pointed out for Togekiss. Flash Fire is the superior ability because it gives Chandelure an extra type to switch in to:
    -Fire Blast
    -Shadow Ball
    -Hidden Power (Fighting)
    -Flamethrower/Energy Ball
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 Def/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Scarf
    Ability: Flash Fire

One thing: You need to tell us the EVs and natures of your Pokemon.

As for the rest of it:

-As Zygardian Harbinger pointed, you have some serious issues with Water types. And you really don't wanna have Water type issues. It is a sand team though... Swap Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball with Power Whip, so you got something to hit Water types with.

-Tyranitar could run Thunderbolt over Fire Blast as well to deal with Water issues.

-Replace Togekiss's Body Slam with Thunder Wave. That's how you paraflinch. Dazzling Gleam and Air Slash give you enough coverage as is, and Thunder Wave is usually a more reliable way to paralyze stuff. And no Choice Scarf on it. That doesn't work well with paraflinch.

-You don't need both Extreme Speed and Bullet Punch on Lucario. I say keep Bullet Punch to pound down Fairies. Fill Extreme Speed's slot with Crunch or Shadow Claw to hit Ghosts, particularly Aegislash. Earthquake works well on your team too, as Platinum said.

-Flash Fire is the better ability for Chandelure, so you can get a free switch in and power boost from enemy fire attacks. That and you're running Will-o-wisp too, making Flame Body unecessary. I don't think Substitute is useful on Chandelure, because like you said, it has mediorce bulk. And its using a Choice Scarf, which doesn't mix with Subs. Replace Substitute with Energy Ball, to help out with your Water issues.

What about Galvantula with compoundeyes as a lead? I'm thinking of replacing it with Chandelure. It has 97 Sp. Atk and 108 speed, and perfect accuracy Thunder with STAB. Giga Drain also works great, and gives a some recovery. It has good resistances to steel, grass, electric, and fighting, but weaknesses to common fire and rock. However, it's risky because defenses are so bad already that it probably won't take more than 2 hits from most opponents.

    Galvantula @ Life Orb
    Compundeyes, Timid Nature
    252 Sp atk/252 Spd/4 Sp Def

    -Thunder
    -Giga Drain
    -Volt Switch
    -Bug Buzz/Hidden Power Ground

    -Bug Buzz/Hidden Power Ground
Galvantula is best known for laying down Sticky Web, a new entry hazard that slows down grounded opponents. It has a tendency to wear itself down fast, though. Compound Eyes makes Thunder more accurate, but not perfectly accurate (70 > 91 accuracy):
    -Sticky Web
    -Thunder
    -Bug Buzz
    -Volt Switch/Hidden Power (Ice/Fire)
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb (Focus Sash is moot when sand is your main weather)
    Ability: Compound Eyes

Note that Giga Drain is illegal for Galvantula till Poke Bank, so make do with Chandelure.
