I've actually tested this in sporcle, and the results weren't very good. xD I probably wouldn't be able to.

a good memory test would be to see "how many of the most recent generation pokemon you can name without looking them up"
most people who grew up on the older generations would be more than familiar enough with them so this would be an interesting approach

I was actually a huge pokemon nerd, and i managed to remember until 493 (Arceus), unfortunately i don't really dive deep into pokemon like i was and so i only could list them until gen IV
