I think Canada lost its Toonami-equivalent recently too. :( It makes me sad either way--I actually really liked watching Toonami whenever I was in the US visiting.

I say good ridance. Their line up wasn't good in anyway. 2 episodes of Naruto, another repeat of Ben 10: Alien Force, and very old reruns of Samurai Jack? No thanks.

Yeah, YTV killed Bionix this fall. It's basically Naruto, Zatch Bell, Blue Dragon, and BLEACH now. =/

but don't the memories of wacthin DBZ,Ryukenshin ,Zoids ,Cyborg 009 , etc make you feel sad?

    YTV killed Bionix? Dammit. :<
Every time I was in the US, I'd watch Toonami, so this does kind of make me sad that they're ending it. I kinda like it, even if I only got to see it a couple times a year.

Aww. I grew up watching Toonami, so it is a bit sad to see it go... even though it's not much of a loss now, with their current line-up (and this -- the picture speaks for itself) leaving a lot to be desired. I just have fond memories of recording episodes of Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo!, Outlaw Star, Cardcaptors, DBZ, and so on. I watched everything back then, and it was so much fun. I miss those days.

Well that was actually kind of depressing, I haven't watched that block in years, though more because I just stopped liking those shows, but I'm glad I didn't stick around to see it through the "dark ages" that it was in for the last two years or so. I guess this is the start of CN phasing out most of their anime.

I'm glad that there was at least some acknowledgment of the block finally coming to an end. I read a lot of people were worried that it would just go off without any real notice because of how suddenly the announcement came. Having Tom end it with "bang" was really amusing considering that was Spike's final line in Cowboy Bebop and they share the same actor.

I agree if I had to keep watching this I would go even more insane.Maybe if Toonami showed decent shows and didnt show reruns of everything beside Naruto which the fillers suck anyway then maybe they would still be around. But they didnt now there go either they will come back in awhile with a new line up or have something replace toonami. As for the memories I can just watch all those shows online. So its really no big deal. What I am going to miss is them having good anime on Saturday Nights which hasnt happened in awhile stupid Cartoon Network. And whats the deal with them putting Code Geass at some stupid time slot nobody is going to stay awake for it. Im pretty sure that was Adult Swims highest rated show if not it was second to Bleach.

Well, Toonami in SEA never showed any anime except or Pokemon, Mirmo Zibang!, Naruto and Yu-Gi-Oh!

And many of the local and cable channel here already showed all of the specified anime.

So nothing gained, nothing lost. D:

Though I'm still waiting for the PPGZ. It really seems interesting that an american cartoon was converted into a japanese anime.

Although, Toonami was slowly dying for the past 5 years, I still had hope that it'd make a recovery. Naruto was a step in the right direction. But gone are the good ol' days of robotech, gundam, DBZ, Ronin Warriors, and Outlaw Star, and so many others... I'm not liking the world that youngsters have to live in these days. They're going to miss out on great programming (like those i just mentioned) and they won't know the joys of Toonami... or even older cartoons like Looney Tunes which has seemed to have disappeared from the television. The cartoon these days have lost the flavor of those from my youth in the 90s. I just hope that one day quality cartoons and anime will make it back to basic cable.

toonami set its own destruction when they made tom have a face and try to be cool....that, and too much shonen jump anime

agreeed all the way. though i do miss samurai jack.

i have to admit i really loved Toonami especially back when i was younger. Toonami really started to die when they ended One Piece and DBZ. I only watched Naruto on it but i have such great memories...

But you have to admit this was just sad...

Yeah well I knew Toonami was in its downfall since they stopped airing MAR, Prince of Tennis, Zatch Bell[moved them to Jetstream], One Piece, Justice League, etc...

And the only thing that was staying afloat was Naruto.

But I totally remember the wonderful years back in 1999-2004. I watched Gundam Wing, Tenchi, Outlaw Star, Hamtaro, Sailor Moon, ReBoot, Robotech, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc...

Oh well...I think Adult Swim might have the same fate as well.

This ends a great era of wonderful anime. If it wasn't Toonami, I wouldn't know about anime. I would have been stuck with Pokemon forever. It made me check out other titles other than Pokemon or Digimon.

I can't say I am suprised, but I am kinda of disappointed because Toonami was great back then. CN could have gotten more anime...

    11 years...it was a great time.

Eh, I wasn't watching it anymore anyways.
It all went downhill for me when they took out Rurouni Kenshin =3=.

Oooooh gawd. Those were the greatest show lineups ever. I'd kill to have YuYu, Outlaw Star, Tenshi, Sailor Moon, and Kenshin in a grand lineup. Good times.

    Time to move on.

I remember Kenshin very well. That was a great show as well. It was sad that they canceled it. I only got to watch I think up to...Episode 25 or something. And all of the sudden, they stopped airing it. >:O

Oh well, I guess I won't think about Toonami anymore. Well I still will think about how great it was back in the day.

Now I just think as ordinary programming. Continue on watching Naruto that is. XD
