Cash for grades?

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you wouldnt be able to go from an F to an A. The 20 points they buy has to be spread over two tests, so you'd still have to do SOME kind of study, right?

Either way, thats ridiculous.

If a school can swoop as low as that, they need to close down. Seriously. That's so unfair. The dumbest kid on the block could pass with a simple breeze into Uni if he had the money. Poor kids, on the other hand.. well, sucks to be them.

Good thing they didn't do it, though. And the parent that suggested it obviously wants his son/daughter to pass. XD
 
Once again I'm confused. A dumb kid can go from a D to a C maybe, but you'd have to still have some kind of smarts to get a good grade.
 
I think maybe there's some confusion with how that is worded. $20 is not a per $20 thing. I'm pretty sure it means a one-time only of 10 points to two different tests.

Though that's besides the fact that it's messed up to sell points to students in the first place. Preparing for the real world? bribing

It was already stated that when they tried that sort of thing it didn't work. Although only once apparently; I don't see why they can't try again, or simply not raise money since schools are funded by taxpayers (at least in my country...).
 
Sad part is, this was a school in my home state that tried to pull this off.

Methinks this is somehow related to the flawed "No Child Left Behind" program here in the States and the "bake sale" is just a cover?

Oh come on you guys, I know you are smarter than that.
They never mentioned that you could pass with grades, this is just for extra credit in order to raise money.
Anywho, what kind of rich kid goes to a public school?
 
Ummmm , I don't know one that wants to make some profit out of it , like 'buying' grades ?
 
I'd actually like to know when 20 points actually made just so much of a huge difference.
It isn't like it's the difference between a C and a D [in almost every case].
 
That's just. No. They can't just allow richer children to get an advantage over the others.
 
This is pathetic. This school should be ashamed. If they are doing so terrible in their fundraising and they stoop to this for it, then they should just get out of life, because they are only going to continue to suck at it all the more.
 
That's just corruption. This is what happens when there's not enough money to go around.

But I think there's a limit to how many marks you can buy though.
